  • Read a Reader's Digest article some years back that suggested an incremental approach that worked for me. Particularly in the diet portion. That is to start with one meal a day (say breakfast) and get that under control calorie and nutrition wise and when you've conquered that add Lunch or snacks.... It really helped me…
  • Whole eggs -- the chickens in my backyard would feel insulate if I only ate half their "girts" to me. I figure it's one of things where nature knows what it is doing. So do people that use a lot of egg whites buy them separately or do you throw out the yolk? Just curious...

  • I have been using the C25K app. It doesn't need any data or internet unless you sync to mfp at the very end. I just wait to do that until I'm at home by the wifi. I don't have a data plan on my phone.
  • I have mostly been a walker but decided I want to at least try running. Using an app on my phone called C25K that slowly build up to running for a full 5K. It uses running/walking intervals (tells me when to do each). It might be something that would help you. It's a free app.
  • I've settled on twice a week. I rather think of the mid-week weighing as a progress report to see if heading in the right direction for the end of week weigh-in. Makes it over all less stressful.
  • I find it's helpful to have more than one metric. I have a body fat reading on my scale so I track that weekly. I also take waist and hip measurements about every two weeks. Sometimes when the pounds aren't budging... I still see progress in the other measurements. Keep going girl -- you can do this!
  • Sugar has been my "drug of choice" and the biggest part of my weight struggles. I would agree that the headaches are an "I miss sugar" reaction. I had about a week of them when I first started reducing my sugar intake. I think it will get better soon... and you'll feel so much better overall.
  • WOW! Thanks for sharing your story. I'm just beginning and have about 40 lbs to lose.
  • I've wanted to do that as well but so far haven't found a way to do that...
  • Even when your behaviors are consistent, the weight loss is not linear... some weeks the scale doesn't budge. HANG in there! Focus on the good -- like that you're feeling better because of the changes you've been making.
  • Reminds me of Frog and Toad children's book. In the end will power only worked for them when they got rid of the cookies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhYh1eZh1Ew (book is better)
