Tonight's dinner for me will be rib eye, asparagus and sweet potatoes. I'll cook my rib eye in coconut oil, grass fed butter and season the meat with whatever I have at home.

There is no magic pill out there that will make you lose weight. There are hundreds of pills that are marketed to be sold to you as such, but honestly they probably won't do anything for you. The best thing you can do for yourself is focus on your diet, eat lots of veggies, and have a great workout routine. I won't stress…

I haven't purchased supplements or a pre-workout in the last 3 months, I have found better gains in the gym, and more fat loss without them. Before I hit the gym, I make a coffee, throw in some butter, and oils (similar to bullet proof, but without spending the money). My stomach doesn't hurt when I do this where as before…

I started lifting when I was in high school and I followed the program given to us for our entire football team. Problem is, its a cookie cutter program, and split body part workouts. Chest one day, legs the next, while it worked in high school, its hard to follow those as we get older. I stopped lifting for about 5 years…

Not being a physician or trainer, this is just my advice. Last year I tore my meniscus while in the gym. It was a combination injury from playing softball and lifting. I was stubborn, and continued to try to workout through the pain, not focusing entirely on legs, but the rest of my body. I would take some some time off,…

This and a glass of whole milk, with or without chocolate.

There are so many programs out there. I used to to split body parts, but found I would plateau easily after a while. If your just starting out, almost any program you pick up and do will give you results, any! But be mindful what your doing to your body. I have recently dropped to 3 days of heavy lifting and 2 days to…

Your right, because every time they study it there are to many variables to consider. A recent study of more than 125,000 people found a link between consumption of aspartame sweetened soda and the risk of leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma in men, but not in women. Since it also found a link between sugar sweetened…

HAHA This makes me laugh. Sure I typed medical school, meant nursing school, but I sure am glad you went out of your way to point that out. All the tests that have been done on humans are all inconclusive because of other elements that existed such as sugar. They brushed everything off as chance with the correlation…

If your looking for a good pump feeling without a stim, I would recommend looking for 4-6 grams of Citrulline Malate. You can pair this BCAAs, Glutamine, Creatine and caffeine to create your own pre-workout. I've used AML's pre-workout and I have had good results, but it does have caffeine in it.

I think this says a lot. We sit here and throw punches at each other based off what a doctor may say, or what some studies online say. But I think it comes down to people who are focused on a healthy lifestyle, eating right, drinking right they could care less about soda and what may or may not do to someone.

Flat out wrong? Talking to a nurse, who just went to medical school, informs me that the Aspartame is what causes cancer? Yep I'm wrong. Go ahead and believe what you want. I don't drink soda any more. I used to. I loved it, I would drink it every day. But I realized that that along with the food I was consuming was…
-
I think you probably did. I got into a debate/argument with people over how unhealthy diet soda is in another thread, and the people are ruthless. I was having this same conversation with a buddy of mine who happens to be a nurse, and he agrees, the Aspartame is what we should be worried about. That is what causes cancer.…

Squats are a great way to build up your legs, but require the right movements, and form to complete correctly. I would not jump into a squat with weight on my back if you've never done them before. Perfect your form first. Start with a dumbbell that you hold in your hands between your legs, and start squatting that way.…

INTERMITTENT. NOT INTERMEDIATE. But yes. My INTERMITTENT fasts of late have been 16 hours, sometimes 14 hours, sometimes 15 hours. Some folks do a 5:2, some do a daily. As with most things: Context.[/quote] Congratulations to my phone for auto correcting what I was typing, and thank you pointing out my mistake...
-
Two days? Are you saying someone would fast for two days? Then your not doing intermediate fasting. I would never recommend more then 30 hours, even that is pushing it. I stick to about 24-26 hours depending on my days. I never feel sick or nausea during my fasting days. Actually I feel I have clearer thoughts and more…

I read the intermediate fasting guide that was written by Mind Pump. You can find this guide that talks all about this on there site. I did pay for it but the data in valuable. I will provide a little timeline of how your body reacts after food is consumed. I have also read various other articles on fasting and they all…

Fasting is a fantastic way to burn fat. I would never push beyond 24-30 hours though. There is plenty of research out there that can help you through the process, but what I do is a variation, where I eat for 6 hours a day and fast for 18 then one day a week fast for a full 24. With the 16 hours of fasting, I usually skip…

Check out Mind Pump: it's a fitness podcast. They have some great programs, and will shed some light on the fitness industry. You'll learn a lot by listening to them. I've been following their programs for just over a month, and I have some great improvements in my trainings. It's geared for all levels, beginners to…

I'm just going to say you should start to listen to Mind Pump. They are a fitness podcast, they also have some fantastic programs that break down how to lift, from beginners to advance lifters. Give them a shot, you won't be disappointed.

Couldn't agree more. There isn't a magic pill. No supplement you take will help get you over that hurdle unfortunately, or at least get you the 6% decrease you're seeking. I've been fighting the weight loss batter for a long time, starting at 315 and dropping to 185, back to 220 and now to 200 and going down again. Its a…

Personally I do not see why there is so much hate towards saturated fat. About 2 months ago I switched the keto diet, and have upped my fat intake from about 30grams a day to about 150-200 grams. Honestly I have not felt better. I stay away from carbs, and stick to protein and fat, and I have more energy, and I am less…
-
My thought exactly. Fat is actually good for you despite all the broscience circling the web. Make sure to do your own research but I eat a high fat diet with medium amount of protein, about 100-150 grams of protein and about 20-50 grams of crabs or less a day ( mostly from veggies). You don't have to push yourself to…

Interesting. I have cut out carbs for some time and increased my fat intake, basically taking on a keto diet. I have a minimum amount of protein, and I feel fantastic. I have more energy, I feel more alert, and I think clearer. I lift heavier in the gym, and I no longer feel bloated and fast after eating food. Everyone's…

I've been doing it for about 3 weeks now. Its been an interesting journey. I feel fantastic, but I have also learned a lot, and I still have a lot to learn. One think I have learned is to really look at your diet. The goal of a ketogenic diet is to maximize your fat intake while limiting your carb intake. The first day I…

Actually I would agree with RunningMermaid. I stopped drinking preworkout about a month ago, and went to just drinking coffee, and I feel so much better. I've been taking preworkouts for 4 years, and while I would feel something (mainly an overdose of caffeine) I would never benefit from them. Drinking coffee for me, mixed…

I think your going to the gym way to much. Every day is over kill. IF you are not working to compete in a show, or to become the next Mr. Olympia, you do not need to be the gym 7 days a week. You need to give your body rest, time to recover. Even if your making some gains now, you mentioned you have an irritated knee. I…
-
I would first take a look at your food. What kinds of food are you eating? What does your over all diet really look like. How detailed are you when it comes to tracking fats, carbs, and proteins? Do you drink sugary drinks instead of water? Things like that. If your working out 3-5 times a week, ya you'll want to be in a…

Here's a good person to follow that posted about the fatty acids found in coconut oil. https://instagram.com/p/BBkzpwfJ1mK/ Here's the text for pic: Medium chain triglycerides (MCT's) are fatty acids with aliphatic tails of 6-12 carbon molecules. What makes them unique is how the body uses them...they go straight to the…
