  • Weight Loss Plateaus aren't considered real plateaus till at least 4 weeks of accurately counting calories in/out and still not seeing any type of loss. Also, lifestyle and diet can make a difference (high sodium intake can cause water retention for example). I wouldn't worry about it. Stay on track, accurately log…
  • * Part of the problem is the arrogance in western medicine. * Part of the problem is being closed minded. * Part of the problem is no $$$s for big medicine if they figure out eating a root you can grow yourself for free will cure you of some condition (please take our pills so we can make $$$s, then charge you again for…
  • FIRST - again FIRST - have you spoken to your health care provider? I would start there to ensure you're not going to do more damage. Second - since it's lower back, probably anything with legs or core will work it and might cause some aggravation. That's not to say that some work on the muscles will not be helpful, but…
  • Hmmm....I see the pic and think of the ZZ Top song "Legs": "She's got legs, she knows how to use them." - so sure, why not.
  • Why not...doesn't look like she is the kind of girl to slip you a mickey and take your kidney. But then again, can you ever REALLY know?!?!? :o
  • Hell no...I bat for the Homeville Hetros! lol
  • When you're in the forums here, click on someones name to the left. A pop up window opens, then click on their name. You'll see an "Add as Friend" button, which you click, which brings you to another screen where you can send a message with your friend request (I typically leave blank). Now that you know how....add me! :)
  • David Bowie - "Modern Love" : It's 180 BPM, which is perfect for my run cadence, and is what I'm using for my cycling pace until I can work up to 200 bpm. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hDbpF4Mvkw
  • August what? End of August till now is what...6-7 weeks, so could just be a plateau. I would take body measurements, perhaps your replacing fat with muscle? Maybe changing up your workout routine (adding strength and cutting back on some cardio, or switching the type of cardio, i.e. swimming instead of walking)? You say…
  • Yes...it will take time to build up both strength and endurance. Also, be sure to eat about 200-300 calories and at least 1 cup water per hour before you go to the gym. If you are going in 2 hours, 400-600 calories and minimum of 2 cups of water (3-4 if you can). This will give you time to convert food to fuel for your…
  • How about scientific research that has been published in an accredited peer review paper? Ciappuccini R, et al. Aspartame-induced fibromyalgia, an unusual but curable cause of chronic pain. Clinical and Experimental Rheumatology 2010;28(63):S131-133
  • I sometimes feel like Bobby Boucher; "Will you please still be my friend?"
  • Good job...kudos to all your hard work!
  • Don't get mad, get even! :) >:)
  • Fell free to add me. I'm 46, and 13.5 lbs away from my goal.
  • Once had a dream I was eating a huge fluffy marshmallow. Woke and and found I was one pillow short! :s
  • Being able to do a Sprint Triathlon (750m swim, 12.4 mile bike, 3.1 mile run). I can do the swim and run no problem, but biking for more than 6 miles takes a beating on my azz bones.
  • More protein and fat (both help to curb appetite). Also, eat more raw veggies for your 2pm and 9pm snack cravings. If I get hungry, I like to eat raw broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots with Sabra Red Pepper Hummus. Low calorie, some carbs, and very filling. A cup of veggies with about 2 Tbsp of hummus is enough to satisfy…
  • Southern style - with ice and sugar.
  • First, learn to estimate your portions: A bar of soap is about the same size as 3oz of meat. A golf ball sized serving is about a 1/4 cup. Your thumb (1st joint to tip) is about a Tbsp. A tsp is about the size of the tip of your thumb (3 tsp = 1 Tbsp) A can of soda is 12 oz, so 2/3 of that is 8oz. Make a cup out of your…
  • I wouldn't get hex dumbbells...you'll probably out grown them in a month or two. I would go to a big box store, get a bench for sure. If it comes with weights, great. If not, pick up a box dumbbell package. I prefer the cast sets vs vinyl, since you can stack more plates with a cast. While you can get by without a bench,…
  • From my research, SHRIMP has the best protein to fat and protein to calories ratio of any meat.
  • Dave and Ava nursery rhymes. My almost 3 y/o grand-daughter runs the show around here. :/
  • LMAO...that's a good one. Bet it handled the problem too, didn't it? :)
  • Food in fridge is good for at least 3 days, and you can typically go about a week. Once it's cooked, you kill off (most) bacteria, so not like it's sitting in there raw. Not saying bacteria can't regrow...just not the same concerns as having raw meat sitting for days upon days.

  • From what I read, lifting weights is good for women to help bone density. And so what if you want to bulk up...that's your prerogative. Just remember in every batch of fresh new doctors....one of them ended dead last in the class.
  • I have a CamelBack that I run with. I carry my water, wallet, keys, and phone in it. I am doing triathlon sprint training, so I have it with me on the bike, then can quickly jump off, change shoes and run shorts...and am on my way again. A little bulky...but it's what I got for now and does the job.
  • Raw broccoli, cauliflower, carrots with Sabra Red Pepper hummus. It's not a lot of carbs, but (1) is low calorie, (2) is filling, (3) and while low in carbs...that's all it is (no fat or protein to speak of). I have gluten problems, and have to be careful where I get my carbs from anyways. A banana and Quaker apple…
  • Plateaus are not considered plateau till 4+ weeks of no weight loss. This is typically in conjunction with a healthy diet (calories, macro ratios, and content) and exercise, which doesn't appear you have at the moment. And according to this, your BMI is 21.1, which is right in the middle of your ideal range. Given that you…
