That's how I started too and it's still a motivator. However what finally got me to "flick that switch", was my children and me wanting them to be healthy and active. The only way to do that (in my mind) is by setting the right example to them. I can hardly tell them to eat their veg while I stuff my face on cake...!

Definitely log and if you go over, so what? "Naturally" skinny people drink alcohol too. As long it's not daily, I wouldn't worry about it.
-
I live in ireland so yes, I drink alcohol :D Mostly just a bottle of wine which lasts me the weekend, so not exactly swilling it. But on a good night out (next Saturday, yay!) I would drink beer and lots of it. But that's not a weekly affair.

Waaaaat? You look amazing in both pictures, her comment makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever :(

I'm like you @CMNVA , on average I have 8K steps a day, but that's because I try to up it in the weekends. I do spinning/circuit most evenings though, so I get exercise in, but the Fitbit doesn't log steps for that or barely anyway. I add small things, like going to the downstairs toilets rather than the ones on my floor…

I'm in, I'm in. Forgot to weigh myself this morning, so I'm guessing my starting weight. I'm meeting 10 girls from primary school for a mini reunion at the Easter weekend, so that gives me 6 weeks to get serious and get rid of those last few lbs. Height 1.68 Starting weight: ~63kg Goal weight this month: 61kg Ultimate goal…

O poor Bob, hope he'll be okay.

Hahaha, you're probably right, I reckon all ten of us are dieting like mad right now :D Good luck to you too, you still have plenty of time anyway, so I'm sure you can do it!

Mmmm just classic lemon and sugar for me and I make them VERY thin, more like a crepe. Was flipping them at 6.30am this morning, two pans at the time, for the children, who also took a couple to school in their lunchbox. Husband will be making more for dinner tonight, so we certainly get our fill LOL. I might actually try…

I suppose my only hope is that they all look like old witches!! :D

I'll be meeting 10 girlfriends from 35 (!) years ago in 7 weeks for a mini reunion. - HELP!

Planning ahead and logging absolutely everything is the only way to go for me. I'm usually on maintenance and then I don't bother logging, but as soon as I need to drop some lbs when I've been a bit too easy-going, I'll go back at religious logging. I also up my protein a little, cooked chicken breast pieces or my new…

I'm on the last 7lbs - forever! Working on a short-term goal now (school reunion), so I'm back logging for a bit, see if I can crack it. Feel free to add me. I'm also on fitbit https://www.fitbit.com/user/568QDS

I did a personality assessment recently (for work) and it turns out I'm actually really nice. Not sure if the husband agrees, mind.

Spirulina powder. Tastes like mud.

Two stone really is doable @hazels1973 and you're practically half-way already! Log religiously, you'll get handier and quicker at it with time and the weight WILL come off, I promise you that. When I'm maintaining, I don't log, but I generally know what I'm taking in. I also give myself a weight range, I will allow myself…

I found it a little depressing as well to be honest and like @kpkitten I expected some kind of conclusion, some kind of guideline as to what would be the right approach then. And the fella that managed to keep the weight off, ditched his job and became a personal trainer working out 2 hours a day. Not exactly…

I'm not actually sure what your question is, what you mean by body set-point? I simply started using MFP, back in 2011, and then it worked. I slowly lost the weight and it's still gone. I allow myself to fluctuate a few pounds, but other than that, it's pretty easy. For me it was mostly about awareness. Even though I don't…

Spirulina powder in my green smoothies. Makes everything taste like mud. Yum.

We bought one only two weeks ago on a whim and I never thought I'd grow to love it as much as I do already! It's such a life saver on weekdays and it forced me to get out of the rut and dig up some new recipes as well. Only problem is that we had to buy a freezer as, as the small fridge/freezer combo we had wasn't big…

Definitely the Worst. Ever.

I'm in bits as well at the moment. Hadn't done any exercise for three weeks due to a back injury. I just started back on Tuesday and went last night as well. But omg I'm in pain right now! 48 hours after definitely is the worst time. It's good pain though, well done!

I'm brand new to this, so still figuring everything out, but would love to see how the friend thing works: https://www.fitbit.com/user/568QDS (sorry I actually don't know how to add friends!)

You're fat.

You ARE superwoman! Wow, just wow.

I definitely feel I need more warming food now than during summer. Makes sense really doesn't it? So instead of my green smoothie, I now have porridge as a snack in work. I have these handy sachets that just need water added and 2 minutes in the microwave (I add cinnamon too). About 150 cals. And for lunch I would have a…

I was called a circling hyena the other day. Ah well.

I always love these threads, they're so motivational! I suppose the biggest thing for me is confidence, although maybe that's to do with age as well? I love being reasonably fit, I don't get a fright when I catch myself in a mirror and I don't mind photos being taken. And I love that my children grow up fit and healthy as…

"The hyenas circle"? Seriously? Bit oversensive if you ask me. No one is suggesting OP is unmotivated, however I have no clue what the 2 daughters have to do with her attempt to lose weight. She never stated what exactly the issue is. Is is time? Is it bad food in the house? Is she a single parent?

Don't worry, you're probably burning about 1500 a day already! You don't need to spend hours and hours in the gym. Phew!
