Honestly, it's not for everyone. My husband is insulin sensitive, and he's MISERABLE to be around when he's not getting enough carbs and sugar. He's constantly hungry and gets "hangry" if he goes too long between meals. You definitely need to do what's best for YOUR body. Zero judgement from this zone... If your body is…

Not a cheat... I budget "treats" into my macros all the time... I spent over 25 years restricting certain foods and setting myself up for "going off the plan" and I refuse to do that anymore. This is my LIFE, and in life we don't always eat ideally. I aim for most of my diet to be organic whole foods, but if I want a…

My macros are set at 1985 calories, 75% fat, 10% carbs, 15% protein. It comes out to 50 g carbs, but I aim for 30 net grams of carbs, which usually comes out to 50 g carbs...

My sleep got a lot worse doing keto... at least for the first 5 weeks... Then I dropped my carbs from 50 net carbs to 30 net carbs... and about a week later I noticed I was getting sleepy around 10 PM and then was falling asleep as soon as I went to bed (that never happens unless I'm in crash and burn mode from a long…

Week 7 Wednesday Weigh-in I'm reporting a small gain... Won't lie, was a rough week, had three days out of the seven that I had more hunger and cravings than usual (messed up hormones suck), but I still managed to minimize the potential damage by not overdoing it on the carbs... Still moving forward, still smiling...…

I'm married to a hair stylist... he says hats slow hair growth, and brushing your hair increases hair growth by stimulating the roots... Pulling it into a pony tail or clip can help stimulate growth as long as it's not also causing breakage...

I've always had super greasy hair, but it's gotten much worse since I started eating low carb almost 7 weeks ago. I should really shampoo every day but it's just a waste of water if I'm not going out. Plus I'm lazy... LOL I'm assuming it has to do with having PCOS and my hormones being all out of whack... I'm hoping it…

Yeah, that's a good point... he's going to be homeschooling starting this fall (8th grade), so we're being very intentional about making sure he stays active. I gave him my withings activite pop watch to track his activity and he's way over 10,000 steps almost every day. He goes kayaking with dad during the summer, we kick…

@Sunny_Bunny_ my son is built like yours... He's very slim and fit... Played soccer 3x a week till 7th grade and now does karate and guitar instead, said soccer got too competitive and took away the fun... He's turning 13 soon and we struggled to get him to eat much of anything until about 6 months ago. Now he's eating…

OMG! I have an ongoing debate with my husband because he INSISTS he has to eat three meals even if he slept in and technically missed breakfast... I find that mentality so strange... He's skinny and has a fast metabolism though, so in his mind if he eats less than normal he might starve to death... LOL! My son is like me…

I'm a huge advocate of listening to your body. I'm 10 years binge free after struggling with a binge eating disorder for 17 years and I refuse to eat when my body says it's not hungry. Google leptin and hunger, there's a lot of good info that supports listening to hunger and satiety cues.

DOH!! What a waste for the restaurant! That reminds me of the time (back in the 90's when I was a teen) that I ordered a BLT sub at subway... I was told they don't do BLTs, so I ordered a veggie sub with just lettuce and tomato, and added bacon. Then pointed out they DO make BLTs...

Just google low carb dessert and bread recipes... There's TONS!! And congrats on your success... I'm excited for the day I feel different...

Yesterday the hubs and I had our belated anniversary date and it turned into a MAJOR cheat day. My dad and his g/f picked the kid up at 8:30 AM to go sailing with them, and we went to the big island on the 10:05 am ferry. I hadn't had any breakfast because I'm REALLY sick of eggs, and nothing in the fridge appealed to me.…

Here's all the most recent ones of my two cats still on my phone... Being weird... And cute...

I find lately I come in around 900-1000 calories if I'm just eating to hunger... I add in some macadamia, almond, or pistachio nuts and cheese to up the calories a little and find it doesn't overfill me... That said, I have a lot of excess fat, so I'm not worried about it too much as my body has plenty of reserves to work…

I assumed you were eating mostly meat when I said that (half in jest), so maybe lay off the cheese? My husband is lactose intolerant and has that runny tummy problem when he indulges... Are you eating any sweeteners like maltitol or xylitol? Sugar alcohols, any ending in -tols, can have a serious laxative effect...…

Yikes! LOL Someone wasn't paying attention to serving sizes or something! I tend to input my own food from package nutritional labels by scanning it, then checking the info has been input accurately. If not, I add the correct irem myself, and can find it again the next time in "my foods"... If a produce item that doesn't…

Yay! Congrats on landing a better job!

No idea! I had the opposite issue! Little hard tiny rabbit poos for the first couple weeks... I know cheese slows things down for a lot of people... Eat more cheese?

Bwahahaha! Funny!!

It's really just a measure of the pull of gravity in relation to your body mass... Not a reflection of one's worth. Everyone's body composition varies... Blood volume, fat, muscle, skeletal structure, brain matter density, finger and toe nail length, hair volume, height, age, etc... If we wanted to have a more accurate…

I listened to one last night about PCOS, and I have watched Leanne's Q&As on YT, so that's what I'm basing my "review" on... but I doubt PCOS info would be relevant to you... LOL

iTunes Podcast app is where I listen...

In addition to some already mentioned, I just found The No Sugarcoating Podcast... It's pretty great so far!
