The biggest support I've gotten was from the case managers at the hospital I was in earlier this year for a foot infection (which has since fully healed). They had also found early signs of CHF (diastolic variety, which means the heart is too strong to completely fill with blood when it pumps) so they helped with lots of…

I know. That's why I also said it could be water weight.

But are you losing inches? Like mer55 said, it's possible to lose fat yet stay at the same weight (losing fat from exercise but gaining muscle and water weight too). I've been stuck at 268 myself for a few weeks, but have lost another inch off my waist in that same timespan.

Supplement-wise, it depends on your own needs and if you have a deficiency that causes medical problems (like not enough iron leading to anemia).
-
Try adding a scoop or two to pancake/waffle batter. That's what I do. As for how it compares, most protein powders are very similar, so it really depends on other factors (like flavor and how much it costs compared to how much total protein is in the container).

There's an Anytime Fitness just 1/3 mile from my house, though I've never been in there. I'm thinking about joining after my rehab classes end, though. If you're interested in them, you could ask them for a trial pass, which will give you a week to try out the gym. The only caveat is that you can only access the gym when…

I usually follow a routine that was made for me by a group of doctors from the cardiac rehab clinic (for diastolic heart failure, which means my heart's too strong due to high blood pressure), pushing myself a little bit harder each session. The basic routine is: Warm-up for 5 minutes (any slow cardio would work, like slow…

What I would do is start taking measurements of how many inches are around the waist and thighs, especially if you're at a surplus and are on a routine exercise program. Sometimes the weight gain is muscle that's getting stronger from the extra calories and exercise. Ever since I've started a supervised gym class three…

New ones, yes, but only select areas can have refilled canisters exchanged online (mostly in the northeast). It depends on if you're willing to spend $40 everytime you want to exchange the canisters with a new one, or prefer just to find somewhere to exchange the cartridge (which is just $15).

For the most part no, because BMI doesn't take into account people who have a decent amount of muscular mass. Like Arnold Schwarzenegger during his Mr. Universe days (according to the BMI charts he had a BMI of 31 back then, which is obese).
-
Only if there are stores nearby that stock the supplies for it. It's a pain to have to drive 50 miles just to get a replacement CO2 cartridge. As for weight, I find that inches lost is a better indicator of increased health than weight lost.

It depends on the day. On MWF (fitness days): 8:00am - Get up to have breakfast 9:00am - Carpool with others going to gym 10:20am - Warm-up by walking from one end of the gym to the other and back (takes 5 minutes) 10:30am - Exercise using the gym equipment 11:45am - Go to a center for treatments (4 hours long) 6:00pm -…

Your best bet is to go with a whey protein isolate (it's whey protein with almost everything but the actual protein removed). There's one on Amazon called Isopure that fits perfectly, but be prepared to pay a lot for it ($40/3 pounds).

Are you counting your spices? Quite a few of them are high in potassium but have little to no calories. Turmeric, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, dried dill weed (leaf), and cumin seeds all have 100mg potassium per Tablespoon.
-
So if you used 0.2 tsp of salt (which is technically a spice) you wouldn't count it because it has no calories? Note that that much salt has 500mg sodium.
-
Do you enjoy mocha (coffee with chocolate)? If so a tea called Bolder Breakfast might be a good in-between. It's a smooth tea with hits of chocolate in it, making it taste similar to a mocha coffee.

Twi low sodium protein waffles (200 calories each), scrambled eggs with lemon pepper/cheddar cheese/ground sausage, lower sodium bacon and 8 oz watered down grape juice Rosemary chicken with peppers and onions on a bowl of white/saffron rice.

Does this gym have exercise bikes that have resistance knobs? You can use these (with your doctor's permission, of course) to help strengthen your knees. I had problems with my knees last year due to an allergic reaction to statin drugs (caused muscular degeneration) and working them on the bikes helped to strengthen them…

It depends on the person. As long as you don't have kidney issues then having that much is fine (except for those who have esrd, who need a lot more than that).

Ms Dash lemon pepper blend, fresh ground black pepper, 1/8 cup sharp cheddar cheese and an ounce of breakfast sausage that has been fried up like ground beef (and drained /rinsed to reduce fat).

Biking and walking may work the legs, but they tend to focus more of the working force on different muscle groups (walking more the upper leg to lift and propel you forward, cycling more the lower leg to press the pedals forward) so being a good walker doesn't mean you'll be good at cycling from day one. Your body is…

Right now I have cardiac rehab classes at 10:30am three days a week. My usual routine is to get up at 8am for breakfast, get there early to warm up beforehand and blast through the class (it's basically a supervised gym session). As for the exercises, they're in my exercise diary but are mainly each machine for 10 minutes…

So far 42 pounds in the past three months (a lot of that was water weight).

The workers at the rehab clinic I've been going to for supervised exercise classes just complimented me this morning on how much weight it looks like I lost. Being shy myself, I just smiled, nodded and pressed on.

The only fat burners that really work are illegal because they also tend to be fatal when taken. For the claim that the protein powders in question burns fat, most are probably basing this on a study showing that people who consumed high amounts of protein tended to lose more fat around the tummy region.…

Lemon iced tea made by mixing a 2 quart packet of lemonade Crystal Light with a gallon of tea. I forgot who suggested it but it's actually really good. I also have a box of trial size loose leaf teas that I occasionally pick one from to try out, making a list of the ones I do like so far.

In small amounts alcohol can help you relax after a long day of work and exercise (I often have a shandy after work, which is beer mixed with a lemon lime soda, to help unwind at the end of the day). Just remember not to overdo it and that it has calories, so work it into your calorie counting.
-
Maybe it's the carbonation in the soda you're craving and not the sweetness/flavor of the soda. If so, try flavored seltzer water and see if that helps.

Personally I'd go more with how many inches you're losing than how much weight you're losing, cause it could be that the gym is causing your body to recomp a bit (burn fat/gain muscle). My own weight's been stagnant for awhile, but just last night I was finally able to fit into a pair of 42" shorts (down from a size 44" a…

My weight fluctuates so wildly every day that I weigh three times a week and pair the results with Trendweight.
