Such sweet supporting comments; thank you all so much! Taking a deep breath now. "...conscious decisions and not uncontrolled impulses". I need to tattoo that!

I think this person was extremely rude. You did not ask their opinion. I think people do know when they are being nosy or rude. I am glad you were able to express yourself to that person. Good for you. Hugs

Save for later. Interesting topic. Thank you.

You can tell your hubby when he offers you something that he doesn't need to because you know the food is there. And also that you are not interested in eating that food. It is tough when someone is sitting next to you watching tv and they are eating unhealthy food (and I do believe a lot of food is unhealthy for your…

I have had 2 shots in the heel, maybe 10 years apart. The pain disappeared immediately. It did hurt a bit but just for 10ish seconds. Feel better.

So very proud of you!!!!

Hugs. You received some great advice. When I started skipping my period and then when it was finally a year of skipped, the gyno said you are done with it, won't get pregnant and in menopause. After the year of no periods, guess what? I got my period for many months after until it finally did stop. Anyway, you sound like…

Chinese buffets - you can do the Hibachi where you pick up a plate and add on it whatever fresh vegetables, proteins and carbs you want. You tell them what sauce you want - mild, spicy etc. If you can, you can tell them to ony put a little oil on their grill. I think that is pretty healthy. At GC, I would probably get…

Some t.v. channels might have yoga on early in the a.m.

emilysusana: I did search for your older discussion and it was great advice about moderating and abstaining. I copied a lot of it down. I do believe, for me, that I need to do this - to say no to certain foods. I have done this but apparently I need to expand my list because for months and months now, I keep gaining and…

You lost weight - Do you still want to lose more? Someone has picked up my name tag twice now. There is my picture on it from a year and a half ago. "Oh you were a piggy" and the next time made a similar comment. My brother-in-law and a guy friend will both look me up and down.

I do the same for over 45 years and it is still happening, undoing all my progress. Big hugs

How about toasting your bread? Maybe the crunch and texture would take you a bit longer to eat.

jfowler97 - "...automatic choice..." That is what always happens to me. I do not even know why or what the trigger or behavior was that made me just reach for something that is not in my food plan. And then once I start, even with 1 food item, I cannot stop. I have been thinking about being very stringent with my diet…

I went to a lot of seminars and support groups when I was thinking about getting surgery. It was mentioned that if you are stalled, to go back to what you were eating when you first had the surgery.

Pierinifitness: "...all the thoughts and behaviors leading up to the act ...Learn from the retracing and build an action plan..." Terrific post!

When I go over what I planned to eat, I too can feel guilty. And that can derail my eating for the rest of the day. Feeling guilty can make you feel really bad about yourself. I don't know how to rid of that feeling - like we did something bad. Hugs

Hi, I am a yo-yo dieter -- either dieting (restricting) or big time binger. There was never ever eating a normal meal. So if you binge one day, get back on track the next. I wish I could do that (a few times I did). Most times it can take me weeks or months to gear myself back to dieting and not binging. I cannot keep…

In the evening watching TV I chew gum a lot. Also will eat 3 clementines. I take a really long time to peel and eat since I don't eat the "plastic" between each segment.

Congrats! Very proud of you!

Listen to music and dance.

For me, I cannot keep any binge foods or triggers in the house at all. Sometimes when I think I am in a good place, I would bring in some of those foods and I could handle them but when an emotional feeling or sad feeling or a feeling I don't know what it is, then I would go into those foods big time. So I cannot keep at…

Help119 - you are exactly my height and goal weight. I hope by next Spring (or hopefully sooner) I will be there.

This woman hounds me to eat the ice cream even though I said no thank you. She lost 100 lbs. Really don't know why she would push food on anyone. The other day I turned down cookies. Immediately a man said "You're on a diet!" I said no, I don't like coconut. I think people do like to see others bigger than themselves or…

Had my gallbladder out a few years ago. I can eat anything, healthy and also junk fatty foods and no problems eating them. I asked the surgeon about eating fat and "bad" foods and he said when you have your gallbladder, you shouldn't eat fat but now that you don't have your gallbladder, you can eat whatever you want. I…

Mcemino2: wow, baby carrots dipped in mustard! Interesting! I do baby carrots with hummus. I might give your idea a try, thanks.

3 clementines/cuties. It takes me a while to eat because I do not eat those outer section holders (I call the plastic part). So I have to bite the top off each section, then peel back the "plastic on both sides" and eat the pulp. I know, weird but takes a long time to eat.
