When you figure out what works, let me know! It's a struggle!

We have funnel cakes every year at our state fair in October. I've never seen them with globs of jelly, but people do put gobs of powdered sugar on them. We ask for it plain and shake just a little sugar on it ourselves.

Same here! After Easter weekend I was up 7 lbs, but by today (4 days later, eating at my usual deficit) I'm back down 6.2 lbs. And I ate a ton both days over Easter! I am still eating a little of the leftover ham, but my sodium this week is nowhere near the 5500 mg I had on Saturday!

That would have been nice to have today--I cut my thumb on our sharpest knife!

I fall into this pattern as well, so I know where you're coming from. If I had any advice to give, I would agree with the above about trying to distract yourself--keep your hands busy, do the dishes, do a craft project, clean the closet, do laundry. Or exercise, even if it's just a walk around the block. Sometimes, I'll…

Lol!! Been there...

Tuna helper!! Blecchh!!!!

tortillas...sigh...just add butter and it's a mini calorie bomb that doesn't do anything to fill me up. It just makes me want another!!

I forgot a few more of mine in addition to the spiralizer: stainless steel pots/pans stainless steel garlic press bread machine--we got it for our wedding 20 years ago this June, and we still use it weekly to make pizza dough little mini food processor--I mostly use it now for making pesto a 2-4 times per month, depending…

What is it that you slice with it? Vegetables? I've never seen one in action, much less owned one, but I do hate chopping vegetables.

I've been pretty much sticking to cauliflower, mini carrots, and grape tomatoes lately, sometimes with hummus or Sriracha Ranch dressing from Trader Joe's, but sometimes just on their own. At times I'll have English cucumber or raw mushrooms. I love me some whole black olives, but they have more calories, and too much…

Ooh, I might try this with my favorite dressing from Trader Joe's--the Sriracha Ranch. I've been using it mostly for dipping with my raw vegetables lately, but at 80 cal/2 Tbs, I can easily double the calories that are in the vegetables. Maybe watering it down will still be good and save some calories. I never thought of…

Right?!? I'd be in big trouble with Cadbury eggs available 24/7!

I also eat too much during dinner prep (or any meal prep for that matter!). Plus, there's just something about knowing that I'm staying on track that HELPS me stay on track. If I'm not keeping track of calories, I just let it go and assume the day is shot, so I just eat what I want. Logging just keeps me honest, and I…

I work from home and mostly run for exercise, or I just count the steps I get on my treadmill desk while I'm working. But for a true "workout", I will run in the morning or the afternoon/evening, depending on my schedule and the weather, since I usually run outside. I don't belong to a gym, but I do have a running…

Yes!! I was just telling my kids about this, because now I will only sprinkle a tiny amount of sugar on their oatmeal. They couldn't believe I would actually put that much sugar on my cereal when I was young--or that my mom actually let me add my own sugar!!

I've been logging them as 150 calories, which is what I've found when I look it up online. Not that that's a lot better, but a little!! I try to half them with my husband, but sometimes I just eat the whole darn thing. Yum!

Mine is generally below 2000, but I have the occasional day that's it's 2500-3000. This happens mostly if we make homemade pizza or if we go out to eat. Over Easter weekend, I ate a crap ton of food, and my sodium was approx. 4300 Saturday and 5500 Sunday (!). ETA: After Easter weekend and all the food/sodium I consumed, I…

I forgot a few...limiting butter, and weighing out what I do use. I can eat a *kitten* ton of butter! And, as part of pre-logging, it's helped me a lot to be sure I leave about 300 calories for after dinner. This allows me an alcoholic beverage and small snack, or a larger snack if not drinking. Having two days per week…

I've had various ones over the years... 1. Switching to black coffee with about 1/3 tsp sugar per cup 2. Eating by 1pm--I used to do Fast 5 IF, but waiting until 5 or 6pm made me too obsessed with food and I'd end up overeating. I've found that eating my first meal by 1pm works perfectly for me. 3. Food scale 4.…

I recently got a vegetable spiralizer, and I love it! I had never tried zoodles--thought they sounded gross and was just a passing food fad, and then I tried them. I like them about as much as regular pasta!

I disagree. Particular individual foods make me feel fuller when compared with others. Most include protein, but also some fat and carbs. Also depends on where I am in my cycle--week before TOM I can't eat enough food, and the week after, I fill up quickly. I don't think it's just about having a "good diet". My experience,…

My mom and sisters and I used to bake Pilsbury biscuits and dip them in margarine mixed with light (clear) Karo syrup. Oh my, that was awesome!! I tried again several years ago, but it wasn't as good as I'd remembered. It might be because we use butter now, not margarine, and maybe we used unsalted butter? I'd be willing…

We were at the beach with my in-laws...I was 2000 over on Easter, and 3000 over the day before. But I did enjoy plenty of chocolate and wine!!

So much this. I set a record for myself since being on mfp. I'm hoping to lose about 4 pounds of water weight in the next couple of days…

McDonald's, on the way to the beach. McChicken with no mayo, add onions and pickles, and a small order of fries. Two chocolate wafer cookies afterward (not McD). Not too bad calorically--about 615 calories.

I think the point was that this wasn't a "cheat" in the sense that OP didn't even enjoy the meal. I've regretted putting my hand into the chip bag, thus unleashing the old "you can't eat just one..." demon. If I just avoid the first one, I'm fine, but stick that hand in and it's all over. I usually wish afterwards that I…

And I just remembered--I lived with my dad and stepmom in 6th grade, and my dad introduced me to his version of cinnamon toast. He would melt butter in a pot, add brown sugar and cinnamon, slather that onto bread, and toast it in the oven. It was awesome! So awesome, that I ended up aquiring the habit of coming home after…

In high school I got a job as a grocery store cashier. I remember one night I had to work late, and then had to work on a paper for school once I got home. I bought a jar of marshmallow creme at the grocery before going home, and then proceeded to eat the entire jar while I worked on my paper. Totally unhealthy, but not…

I plan for it as well--about 300 calories designated for after dinner, which has to include a glass of wine, beer, etc if I choose. But it can still be a struggle to keep it to the 300. Sometimes I just let myself go over by a little, and sometimes I go to bed early to avoid eating more. If I do have something, it will be…
