I eat at 1pm and might end as late as 11pm. Some would call that 14:10. I call it “what works for me”, I don’t care about the IF label. I just found that having no calories before 1pm (I wake up anywhere between 7 and 9 am) helps me control my appetite for the whole day. My ending time is dictated more by how many calories…

For a while I was banking calories during the week so that I could enjoy Pizza Night and other indulgences on weekends. It worked for me for a while, but I did find it difficult to limit the calories on the weekends (“Yay, more calories!!” mentality), I felt fuller and grosser over the weekend, and of course, there was the…

I use Amazon music, and you can choose a setting for clean songs only. I find this helpful since my kids look up songs on my phone. You would still have to screen the lyrics yourself, but it does show the lyrics if you want it to.

I actually do like zoodles in place of pasta. Not always, but if I need to save calories. Also, Trader Joe’s stir fried cauliflower rice—I mix it with white rice to reduce calories, and sometimes have it alone. I once made a chocolate mousse with silken tofu, similar to what Whole Foods sells on its salad bar. That was…

Ok, thanks for that info. Hmmm, can you find out what that patient ended up having, before 3/18? 😆 JK, and I hope your stomach pain is resolved soon. Did the doctor say what yours could be? I went back and re-read your earlier post about DGL. That’s something I can’t take due to a heart condition I have (Long QT), since…

I’d second running in the rain. I did that accidentally recently, and it was a very fun run. I was soaked, but did 5 miles while it rained the whole time. Luckily I had put my phone in my waterproof case just in case it did rain.

Okay, I’m hearing you guys—I will keep the appt regardless. Thanks!

I second these. The wire hasn’t bothered me, and they’re only $20.

Thanks to everyone for thoughts and suggestions. I thought I’d update again—I’ve felt a little better the past couple of days, and have had up to 1450-1700 calories, so I’m not as worried about weight now. I still feel it, though. I do think I’m doing better with things like pasta, rice, and mashed potatoes. I’m going to…

If you’re talking about a sore muscle pain along the inside length of your shin, that’s what I know as shin splints. I’ve had my share of them over my 25 years of running. They usually crop up when I’m doing too much too soon, or sometimes with a different foot strike, like going on the treadmill after mostly outdoor…

Ok, thank you all. Yesterday I cut back on coffee, and today I will stay away completely (I only drink decaf, so I don’t expect to have caffeine withdrawal issues). I actually did feel a little better yesterday. I had plain pasta and white rice with oil and salt for dinner, and I didn’t have as much pain as just fullness.…

So update--My TDEE is about 2100 calories. My BMR is around 1250. I’ve averaged about 1160 per day for the past 2 weeks. I could only get an appt with a gastroenterologist for 3/18—one month out from now, so I'm a bit worried about barely eating at BMR for that long. My GP knows I'm losing extra weight from this, and…

Yes I did ask to be on the waitlist for a cancellation. I guess I figured this is more about calories and rapid weight loss, while the other was a question of what the heck could this be? I’m sorry to confuse, I can go back to the other thread. Like I said, I’ve never had an issue like this before! Thank you!

I’ve definitely gone with blander food. I usually love spicy foods, and that doesn’t sound good now. Crackers did still hurt, and pasta as well. I’m going to try white rice tonight. Some of the other suggestions are off the table because I already think they’re gross, lol (ginger ale, cottage cheese, root beer). It seems…

Petty—My dad and stepmom are super fit and in their 60s (I’m 46). She and I are the same height but she weighs a lot less than me. Last year we all ran a 10K and she kicked my butt. This year I want to run it faster than my 63 year old stepmom 😄 Btw, we have a great relationship, and they would both love it if I got back…

Ok, thank you! I do drink a lot of decaf coffee on an empty stomach, and I’ve wondered if that’s bad. I drink alcohol too. I have a genetic heart condition, just diagnosed last year, and there are a lot of meds I’m not supposed to take because of it. We’ll see I guess.
-
Yes!! I also want to run faster, and that’s difficult with an extra 25 lbs.

So what do you take for pain, fever, cramps, etc? Thanks! I have plenty of questions! Did you have pain with eating? That and loss of appetite (with weight loss) are literally my only symptoms. Today I’ve felt better because I’ve eaten less. I just ate dinner and have more stomach pain again. What is the treatment? Thanks!
-
It’s been removed already

Did your pain come on suddenly or over time? Yogurt has been my staple for an afternoon snack, but recently has been making my stomach hurt (before everything made it hurt). Thanks!
-
Thank you! I do use ibuprofen fairly often, and sometimes acetaminophen, but no aspirin. I only drink black coffee for breakfast, and I often wonder if that’s bad for my stomach. Did your ulcer pain come on suddenly or over time?
