  • I agree with someone above who said it could have been an accident. When scrolling through with the right thumb, the disagree button is right there to accidentally land on. I don’t really do a lot of hitting the “like”, “hug”, etc buttons on posts, so I wouldn’t have really noticed if I’d accidentally hit one of those…
  • Starting weight: 163.4 lb Start weight this month: 147.8 Goal weight this month: 140 Target goal weight: 128 August: lost 1.2 lb September: lost 4.2 lb October: lost 3.7 lb November: lost 3.9 lb December: lost 4.3 lb (but ended high due to New Year’s) (I use Happy Scale, so the losses above are determined by moving…
  • Less than 3 lbs, almost all of which are gone now (4 days later). That’s much better than past years! While I did indulge and ate over maintenance several days, I finally felt in control of me appetite/calories for the whole month of December! And actually, some of the extra weight was DOMS from a really hard workout on…
  • I work from home most days, so I got a treadmill desk a few years ago. I don’t walk fast (less than 2mph) or for the whole work day, but it definitely keeps me moving and burning some NEAT calories! If it’s enough calories (from several hours), I’ll eat some of them back.

  • If evening is a problem, then could you try skipping breakfast, and using those calories after dinner? That’s exactly what works for me. I allot myself 350 calories for after dinner. I usually use it on wine or beer, cheese and crackers, cookies or chocolate. Or like last night—extra pizza at dinner, and then I was full…

  • I took my kids to the skating rink and I skated as well, for 1 hour. We would have stayed longer, but it was packed, and we left early after my oldest son hurt his tailbone falling to avoid another fallen skater, AND a woman was taken down by a small, very fast child. I think that woman might have broken her wrist!
  • Ok, thanks for clarifying. So then I would say yes, premium has been worth it to me, because I love having the meal calorie goals right there, alongside my actual meal calories logged. I’ve set mine up as Breakfast 30 (black coffee only), Lunch 400, Snack 220, Dinner 550, and Late Night 350. That gives me my total of 1550…
  • I think the timing depends on one’s schedule. Some people go to bed at 9pm. I could probably eat dinner at 5:15 and make it through the evening with just some hot tea. But I rarely go to bed before midnight, so I definitely plan for a snack after dinner. I’m sure OP can try her plan and adjust as needed.
  • I weigh everyday—like many others, I want to have the data. Plus, when I do go up on the scale during PMS or ovulation, I can look back 28 days (really 26 days in my case) to when I was at the same point in my cycle last month, and compare those scale numbers, which is a better comparison when you gain 3 lbs due to your…
  • I started doing walk breaks several years ago, and feel they’ve really helped out my joints as I get older. Now, if I’ve taken a break from running, I just start with shorter intervals of running, and gradually increase the running to walking ratio. My goal for training runs is half a mile running/a tenth mile walking. I…
  • I was diagnosed with an arrhythmia type heart condition (Long QT syndrome) in April 2019, and put on a beta blocker for life. My doctor warned me to take caution while running, and to limit it to a certain speed and distance. The beta blocker greatly affected my ability to run comfortably (it prevents your heart rate from…
  • I got premium so I could set up different calorie goals for different days of the week. It can be very useful if, for instance, you want to plan for fewer calories on weekdays and more calories on weekends. I don’t use that feature currently, though. I do love the ability to designate a calorie goal for each meal, but I’m…
  • This has been a tough one for me, too, in the past. It can be really difficult to get back into good habits, and I’ve struggled with getting that “right mindset” back. I think what helped me a few months ago was to change things up, try something different. I decided to cut out my morning piece of dark chocolate, so that…
  • To be back in the 130s! I have 8 lbs to go after the holidays...had been down to 144.5 sometime in December.
  • I finally felt in control of calories during the entire holiday season! This has more to do with my current WOE than actual weight loss, but it makes me think that maybe this time around this will be sustainable! I still enjoyed the treats, just a reduced amount, and only what I really love. Just one high quality chocolate…

  • My weight had crept up steadily over the past 1-2 years. It had gotten to the point that I wouldn’t let my husband see the scale when I weighed, or tell my kids my weight. I also didn’t feel good about filling in my weight on medical forms. Now that I’ve lost about 18 lbs, I realize that I’m willing now to be open about my…

  • I’ve calculated my TDEE based on my history of weight loss. At my “heavy normal” weight of 145, I maintain on 2150 calories. That’s 14.8 calories per lb. in the past, at lower weights, I’ve found that 14.5 is a pretty accurate multiplier. I’m a 5’6” female. If I used 8.5, my TDEE at 145 lbs would be 1232–and I KNOW that’s…
