Ok, thanks. I've been having a harder time lately, sticking to a 500-600 cal deficit. I'll try 300 cal deficit and see how it goes.

Staying within my calorie allowance! It's been a struggle lately, so I'm increasing my calories to see if that helps. Hoping for 0.5-0.75 lb loss/week.

Ditto and ditto!

Over Easter weekend I ate something like 5100 and 3800, when my maintenance is 2150. By the 4th day back to eating at my usual deficit, my weight was back down where it was before Easter, and I managed to lose another lb over the course of the week. One or two days like that, no big deal. The trick is to get back on track…

If you mean in the mfp database, you can add "g" to your search, and that will narrow it down to those entries measured in grams. For example, "diced tomatoes g".

We like to make pizzas using flour tortillas for the crust. They make a nice thin, lower cal crust, and cook in about 10 minutes. I can have a whole one for about 300 cal, depending on toppings. I know there's cauliflower pizza crust, but I haven't tried that yet. Cauliflower rice is surprisingly good!

North Carolina, USA. We're a few hours from the mountains and a couple hours from the beach, but that doesn't help me in the day to day. Our neighborhood and town in general have tons of greenway trails to walk/run/bike. But I have a running treadmill and a walking treadmill at home, so even bad weather can't be an excuse!

FWIW, I am certainly not sedentary, but I put sedentary as my activity level, and then I add back calories for every single activity that I do. For instance, at sedentary, I assume zero to 2000 steps taken as my base. If my pedometer shows I've done 10,000 steps for the day, I give myself 150 cal. If I did 20,000 steps, I…

I think it's "mind-boggling" because people think if they've done a work out, they might as well take advantage of that calorie burn, and that they're defeating the purpose of the workout if they eat them back. It's just a different mentality, pretty much using TDEE. It's what I always thought when I read about people…

Good idea! I've had this problem...

This was from yesterday, but I had a grilled chicken patty (Costco) on toast with pepper jack cheese, avocado, and green dragon sauce from Trader Joe's. It was awesome! I'll be having it again today

I've never bought a rotisserie chicken from the supermarket, so I don't know how much they generally cost, but I was just at Costco and they have them for $4.99, and they look pretty good! Grab a quick side and you're good to go. Of course, not such a great meal for on-the-go in-the-car eating! Another quick note though –…

Nothing new, but zoodles in place of spaghetti. They don't have the same consistency, but everything else about them makes them go fine with pasta sauce and Parmesan, at least for me. Sometimes I'll have that as a side, along with a smaller portion of pasta than I would normally have.
-
I also struggle with an all or nothing mindset. Sometimes it works for me, and sometimes it doesn't. For instance, many years back I was drinking way too many soft drinks, and went cold turkey to stop the habit. I haven't had a soft drink in about 20 years, and I've never missed them. With my diet, it's definitely been a…

Mmmm, butter on homemade bread...yeah, we can't make that at home very often. Same with batches of cookies and brownies. I just enjoyed one big fat brownie at lunch at a friend's house this past weekend. I figured why not enjoy it, because it's too dangerous to make a batch at home. So yes, I do refrain from buying certain…

Yessss, I love the sriracha ranch dressing! Also the green dragon hot sauce--I put that *kitten* on everything! Another reason I love Trader Joe's is that their items don't have artificial colors or preservatives. One of my kids is sensitive to the colors, so going there saves me the hassle of sifting through all the…

So far, an egg and cheese burrito

I range from 1450-1850 if I'm doing good. Female, 5'6", losing about 1 lb/week if I stick with it.

A thick, rich, gooey chocolate brownie that felt like a brick in my stomach after I ate it. But it was totally worth it! I don't make them at home because me and a whole batch of brownies don't mix. So being able to enjoy one at someone else's house is a nice little treat!

Reese's peanut butter egg--well, only half, since I was low on calorie allowance!

My problem calorie-wise is that after (or during) that much alcohol, I'd be eating more calories along with the 500 alcohol calories... But to answer the question, I'd either go for most of a bottle of red wine, or 5 Coors Lights.

I've tried to like it, but I hate sparkling water! The rest of my family loves it. It would probably help me to avoid snacking more, but I just can't.

I recently brewed up a nice pot of ...hot water. I forgot to put coffee grinds in the coffee maker :frowning:

I would have to say that most of these combinations gross me out. I guess I'm not too adventurous when it comes to food. About the strangest thing I love is french fries dipped in mashed potatoes, and breakfast sausage dipped in maple syrup. Oh, and my family used to dip biscuits into Karo syrup mixed with unmelted butter.…

Egg and cheese on half of a croissant. My husband brought these croissants home last night, darn him! These are 220 cal, so I only used half to go with my egg and cheese. It reminded me of why I love croissants, since I don't eat them very often.

I'm also just hungrier during PMS, but I don't really have cravings. During other times of the month, I don't eat until 1 PM, but during PMS, I'm ravenous by 11 AM. It's usually my reminder that PMS is kicking in for the month.

Taco Bell bean burritos--fast, cheap, and fairly nutritious. We also get the crunchy tacos with beans instead of meat. Our family of five enjoys these, and we grab them in the drive-through and eat them at home. If we need to eat in the car on the run, we might do McDonald's, and I'll get the Mcchicken sandwich with a side…

I'm saving up calories for tonight for either one serving of cookie dough ice cream, or a Reese's peanut butter egg --both about 170 calories. I'll decide after dinner. I find that having that special treat to look forward to helps me stick to my calorie goal during the day.

I skip breakfast and have 300-400 calories planned for after dinner. If I know I have it set aside, I enjoy it more, and try harder to keep it to 300-400 and not go over. What do I have after dinner? Really, whatever I feel like! But it's usually 1-2 drinks, and/or cheese and crackers, toast with butter, or a real treat in…
