Continued, since I hit send too soon. This trip, I put my effort out there. My sister and I text daily, but most important is that I have been very open with my girls about what I am doing and where I want to go. They are 11 and 13, so Dad is not the most important thing in their lives right now, but they do check in to…

Fear of failure. On my first go around, I got down to 215 pounds. Won’t bore you with the details but came all the way up again, close to 260. Jumped in with both feet in late June, starting at 252. Official weigh in tomorrow and I should be in the low 230’s.

2.8 miles this morning, just over 13 for the week.

This does not happen to me so often since I retired the end of July, but it is not gone altogether. The first thing that goes for me when stressed is sleep; I wake up several times a night, and have a lot of trouble falling back asleep. For me, I have a very strong preference to eat on a fixed schedule. I generally do not eat breakfast, and lunch is usually within 30 minutes of noon. Dinner becomes an issue, as DW does not leave the office until 7, and I like a family meal, so my cooking is usually planned around 7:30. This is a long gap for me, so it…

After gaining 1.4 last week (birthday and Labor Day) I really turned it up a notch this week. OP every day, ate smarted, and averaged about 2.5 miles per day walking. Ended up down 3.7 for the week. Firmly in the 230’s.

I found a cookbook called Cook's Country eats local, which features dishes from each region of the US. Love the cookbook, but hate that it does not publish any NI for the recipes. I found one called Bierocks, which is apparently common in Nebraska and Kansas. Basically ground beef, veggies, and cheese in a buttery, yeasted…
