Interesting, Kim, that we’ve taken the same path (no pun intended). I adopted a Great Pyrenees, and started walking her. As she got healthier (had heart Worm), we started going longer and longer. I’ve always been on line only. Maybe not fair to say since I never attended a meeting, but the “rah, rah” style of motivation would not work for me. At my best, weight loss was a job. If I did my job properly, I got rewarded in the form of less pounds. If not, I gained weight. That was it for me; pure and simple.

I’m with Bill. Still not coming naturally to me, but overall my will power to resist has been pretty solid.

2.4 miles this morning. Would have gone further but dogs and I were roasted. And I can’t carry an 80 pound Pyrenees.

Crock pot is a staple for me. Had an instapot about a month and still getting used to it but so far so good. Next up might be an air fryer.

Breakfast is minimal for me and lunch is very consistent for me now that I am home every day. Typically a sandwich and a 100-150 calorie snack like Cheez-it’s. I cook dinner and draw from well over 30 cookbooks so a lot of variety there.

I try to get back to basics. Lower cal recipes. Lay off the Mexican food. More lean protein. Watch portion sizes. Move away from cheese, rich sauces, etc. If I can successfully manage a couple of these I tend to right the ship fairly quickly.

I’ve been keeping track of weight daily on this app since late June. Every day as you enter it you get a short “keep it up” message. It projects your weight out 5 weeks if you continue as you have been. This puts me back into the 230’s for the first time in way to long. My rational mind would argue that weight loss is not…
