In general other people don't influence me too much. But I will say that when someone who does not know me from when I was heavier makes a comment about my fitness etc. it does give me a little extra push to keep on keeping on. I did have a challenge about a year ago when my DH wanted to do WW, I volunteered to build his…

I'll be back later to post my answer...back to back meetings coming up in a few minutes.

Started running. My closet only has clothes that fit and I like. My confidence in social situations is significantly increased. My mindset and demeanor are the same in all circumstances, whereas when I gained weight, I was way more emotional/bothered when I was faced with situation I was not comfortable in, mostly social,…

The general principles of WW overlay a lot of the other aspects of my life. I often use the concepts at work...for example when we have a very big initiative I preach the do it in bite sizes, one day at a time concept. Portion control has become consumption control (and I never thought I was a big consumer to begin with)…

I can relate to the expensive part and the good thing I'm cute statement. LOL -- my current boxer girl is a food hound, but never takes anything on her own...that was true for both of them (my 2nd one is gone now due to brain cancer) but they love human food. Glad all went OK for your fur baby, chocolate can be pretty bad.

Yep, I don't stray from here...

1. We've been doing a very long home project (remodel/fix things builder did wrong) - it's long because my husband is doing the work (and he works fulltime and travels for work) -- but he's an awesome craftsman thus we don't want to hire, so for 2017 our top priority is to finish this project. 1a. Tied in the first place…

Thanks to all who posted, it was really great to read the responses. Here are mine... Sleep – generally speaking I have slept well most of my life, now (I'm at goal) I don't sleep as well. Trying to figure out why. Social Life – the amount of socializing has slowed down, but the quality has improved. Work Life - improved…

Get well!

I'll comment later...got to jump on a meeting.

We get lake effect in our area, meaning I've had to deal with it. But we have a natural gas generator, so power outage is not an issue for us. With that said... My normal pantry and fridge/freezer is filled with enough to probably get us thru any emergency for a 3-5 days. We chose not to put the Microwave on the generator…

I occasionally used humor, typically to offset feelings of not fitting in so I would make it be known I knew I was overweight. But I did not do this often, I notice my husband does because he was thin most of his life and since he has put on about 30 pounds (he's 6'3") so he carries it pretty well but he is super self…

If I am hitting the rumble strips that means I am seeing a change, either scale or clothing. My changes in direction are usually subtle, I stop tracking small items or I guesstimate a recipe point value because I don't feel like logging in and creating the recipe. These subtle changes are a mind game, I think I am on plan…

Down .4 -- 4 losses in a row, they are small but I don't normally see several losses in a row.

I can relate to your post...I hope the feeling gives you the push and endurance you are looking for...because I can say I am positive you will love meeting clients when you are taking care of yourself and in control. My confidence soared after hitting goal (and as losing) -- I ended up being laid off from my job after I…

I do some planning… I pre track the things I know I eat everyday each morning. If I know what I plan to eat I track the entire day…this is my most valuable planning. I give myself small goals, revolving around habits I want to change typically things I want to do that week that maybe I have relaxed on recently. With the…

I keep on keeping on because I absolutely hated life with an extra 70 pounds on me. And today at goal (and working on getting below goal for a cushion and some vanity) I am way too happy and love all I can do to go back. I also fear gaining, I think it is possible but I hope the circumstances do not arrive.

I want to add, I hope your back issues are diminished and that you can enjoy your retirement. After working for years and the level of activity you used to enjoy it must be very difficult, hoping the docs can get you to a good place. Keep us posted on progress & be good to yourself.

I have eliminated most sweets with the exception of fruits. Chocolate is very hard for me to manage, so it stays out of the house. If I get a real hankering for it, I buy one thing and eat it. I sometimes eat desserts when we go out to eat which I only go out 1-2 times a month. For the holidays I made pumpkin pie without a…

I don't see it often largely because I am not big on social media. I get my news from multiple sources and I too am a skeptic at heart and do not believe much of what I read until I feel I have fully educated myself, if it is a topic of I want to pursue further. I did follow the "low fat" myth way back in the day, it did…

I'm not retired but did take a few years off after I sold my business. Similar to the previous poster, I built a daily routine and focused on enjoying the things I rarely had time to do or had to rush through due to work. My routine was... Wake up early (5am - 6am range) Sit with husband and drink coffee, watch news, read…

I give myself an "A" from a food/weight loss perspective. I lost weight consistently for many months in accordance to my roller coaster pattern of losing, with overall trend down. Although at goal, I am going for 8-10 pounds below my official goal weight. I lost .03 Thanksgiving week, I WI on Friday. I give myself a "C"…

First Weight Watchers got me to goal, 2nd the Community (at that time the WW boards and now MFP Goad & WW Connect) helped me feel I was not alone in the challenge and how I felt...but also provided lots of good data, like recipes, "food finds" that were healthy, tasty, low points and some excellent strategy and tactics.…

For me...I find I slip up when tired, thus have worked hard to not let that happen often. Next, is time management, too much going on or unplanned events that lead me to places that don't have the choices I prefer food wise, so I pick something I like and once it is on my plate, I have a portion control issue. Last, is…

I'm getting caught up on posting...down .3 -- hoping next week brings the same or better.

I think it is important particularly as you get close to goal or at goal and trying to lose a little more. That has been my experience.

My favorites mostly came from my Mom who passed away this year. After her foods it would be chocolate of which I have miraculously gotten very good control over. I mostly use moderation as my primary tool for controlling those things I historically would overindulge in. On some things avoidance makes sense too...the…
