  • I really enjoy making tofu scrambles for breakfast. Same concept as scrambled eggs, except you mix in some crumbled, well-seasoned tofu with whatever other add-ins you like and saute them all together. Just a thought if you are looking to branch out!
  • Welcome! MFP is such an awesome tool - the hardest part is joining and you've already done that! Nice work! Best of luck to you!
  • Yep! At first I was discouraged by the fluctuations, but now I actually love seeing them, because I know that, for me, that's the sign that I'm maintaining! Congrats :)
  • I love that. So insightful and my thoughts, exactly. I had always assumed, too, that I could "never be vegan," but I learned how to make it work for myself, and my husband has been incredibly supportive. I agree that it's important that we don't come off as exclusive of those who don't follow the same lifestyle. We can't…
  • It certainly sounds like a misunderstanding, because I am in agreement with everything you said! I like how you phrased it as a "consideration" because that's exactly how I see it. I can understand how it's coming off as me being judgmental of them, but truly, I'm just wondering if that's where their negative comments are…
  • Understandable. I can see how it may come off that way. But wondering does not equal judgment.
  • Are all of them haters? No, absolutely not. Furthermore, I feel it unfair that I'm assumed to be thinking any negative thoughts or assumptions about them. The ones who are haters, who do give me attitude (as a vegan, I'm sure you've experienced them, too), I will absolutely stand up for myself. I do my best not to rub my…
  • I love this. I've experienced the exact situation before, the first time I started to lose weight, and now at least once per week for being vegan. I interpret that very much the same way - I've always wondered if they're giving me grief simply because I'm bettering myself, the environment, and the lives of animals, and…
  • I get the same problem - in fact, as soon as I saw the title of this post, I knew exactly what it was going to be about. Yes, it's caused by anxiety, and I too get it when I can't necessarily tell that I'm anxious. When it happens, I find a quiet place to meditate for 10 minutes or so, and it usually helps. Maybe try that?…
  • Hi there! Feel free to add me - I live in Kalamazoo, MI and am surrounded by an awesome beer scene!
  • Also stealing the original responder's format :) What works for you? I still eat and exercise the same as I did when I was losing, except now I get to eat more calories. What keeps you going? Knowing how easy it is to slip back to the place I came from. When I first came to MFP, I used it to lose 45 lbs. Then I went vegan…
  • I will add you! I'm always looking for more friends to help encourage and to get encouragement from!
  • I love kombucha! Synergy's Cosmic Cranberry and Trilogy flavors are my favorite. I don't think they're vinegar-y at all. They're slightly acidic, but the more you drink it, the less you start to notice it.
  • Feel free to add me, too! The more the merrier!
  • I recently hit my goal weight as well, but didn't want to just randomly be able to eat 500 more calories per day (I mean, I WANTED that, but I was afraid it would be too big of a jump, too fast). I ended up adding 100 calories back every 7-10 days until I started to see maintenance on the scale, then just kept my calories…
  • Go Blackhawks!
  • Hi April, While I've hit my goal weight, I still plan to stay on MFP to hold myself accountable. I'd love to be friends and keep each other encouraged and going! Xoxo, Elli
  • Go Bison! I used to live in Fargo and my husband is an NDSU alum! \m/ Also, nice job on the weight loss!
  • It's basically impossible to get too little protein as long as you are eating enough calories. I've been vegan for two years and never once had an issue getting enough protein, and have easily been able to gain muscle from yoga and weight training. Just eat enough and don't worry so much about it :)
  • I really like to do baked sweet potatoes, and then for a topping I mix together a can of black beans, a can of rotel tomatoes, a little bit of olive oil, some cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Heat that up in the microwave and then top the whole thing with some salsa. It's so good :)
  • Here! Yay! Feel free to add me, I need some vegan friends :)
  • Overnight oats are my favorite for breakfast. Tons of protein. I eat them at 8:30 and am not hungry again until well after noon. 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk 2 T creamy or chunky peanut butter (or any other nut butter you want) 1 T maple syrup (the real stuff) 3/4 T chia seeds 1/2 cup old fashioned oats Mix everything…
