@snowshoe072 - sorry to hear Covid has shown up at home. Hopefully your hubby will have a mild case and neither you nor your son will get it. My husband and I have been talking how careless we’ve become. We are both fully vaccinated, but never wear a mask and aren’t as careful about washing our hands or using hand…

@Geneveremfp - you’re spot on when you said that if you quit, the only person impacted is yourself. Along with that, I remind myself that if I quit, I’ll get the same result every other time I’ve quit - which is to gain the weight back and maybe more. I DO NOT want to go down that road again! @victorious55 - “What will you…

I can relate to what @calvin20874 said about not having to deal with office goodies this year. In my case it’s because I’m recently retired. I’ve been thinking that the fact that I’m home and not at work is exactly why I’m losing weight in December. The cakes and cookies and breads that pilots would bring in as gifts -…

I thought I signed up for this team a few weeks ago but don’t see me anywhere. Maybe I did something wrong? If I can still join, sign me up! Thanks.

@bradkcrew and @BMcC9 - spot on for both those memes. My 2021 weight loss won’t make headlines, but I’m thrilled to be here, still plugging along, regardless of the speed. Every baby step is an improvement.

I love the meme that says “Don’t say I can’t, say I’ll try”. But I also cringe when someone says “well, nothing else has worked, I guess I’ll give the UAC a try.” All of us still here have had days, weeks, months when we’ve struggled and been tempted to quit. But we stay because we made a commitment, because we know the 3…

@donna25trinity - I never close out my diary anymore because the “you will weigh this amount in 5 weeks” tends to be unrealistic and messes with my head. Off topic - but I committed to post my avg weight in a spoiler this month to hold myself accountable and keep me focused on my goal of an avg weight of 195 by Christmas.…
-
@SummerSkier - sad, funny, and true. I wonder how much weight I’ve gained saying “tomorrow I’ll start a diet but tonight I’m going to sit here and eat this gallon of ice cream.”
-
@Mrs_Hoffer - hope you feel better soon. You are the reason our group is still active and we appreciate all you’ve done. My strategy is to keep reminding myself how proud (and flabbergasted) I’ll be WHEN I end December in the winners circle! Last night was an unplanned and slightly funny strategy. We ate at a swanky…

Very late posting. It all’s good. Pass days 2/3

My NSV is all the knowledge=power I gain from this group. I don’t always follow through with information, but it all plants a seed that may or may not become a habit. Speaking of habits, that book, “atomic habits” has come up before. I’m going to head over to my Barnes & Nobles account and throw it in the cart so next time…

3 yeses again today. @Jana_2020 - so so true. Even though I can’t claim to have 100% victory over the habit of tracking, it has absolutely become a habit to check in here every day and I’ll take that as a win!

Late last night I realized I hadn’t exercised! I was so proud of myself for tracking and not overeating at the party that it never occurred to me that I hadn’t exercised! What a dope. So…… Pass days: 2/3

@jam newsman - sorry you’re not feeling well, Julie. Sounds like you’re on the mend and your day relaxing sounds pretty darn sweet! @donna25trinity - I can’t tell you how impressed I am that this was your first binge since May 28! That’s some serious progress and counts as a huge NSV! I’m throwing you a little party right…

I love your goblet habit. I’m doing something this month that is similar but different. I really love “Essentrics” workouts. They’re a little but tai chi, a little bit Pilates, and I feel incredible after each one. I credit these workouts with my range of motion and energy level. However, I often just don’t make them a…

Great topic and really timely for me. Just yesterday I recorded a pass day even though if I’d added back my exercise calories it would have been fine. This is a work in progress for me. For a long time I used a “sedentary” setting and added back exercise calories. The trouble is that on those days I’d burn 2,000 calories…

Exercise - yes Tracked - yes Under - yes if I add back exercise cals, no if I don’t. I’m calling it a no since I have my goals/profile set to “active” and it would be double dipping. Plus I made a bad lunch decision and didn’t allow myself many cals for dinner. Pass days 1/3

@LazyBlondeChef - hope everything is ok!

I struggle with that too. I go in with good intentions but then I see/smell the food and all resolve disappears. One mantra I use that does help me, is to ask myself is how I’ll feel emotionally the next morning. Will I regret indulging? Will I be proud of myself for controlling myself? The more often I control myself and…
