Omg I just had a vivid mental image of that and snorted out loud at my desk! I hear toddler tossing doesn't burn as many calories as dwarf tossing but it's still quite effective!

Thanks. I don't really have a time frame, though I would like to at least improve my posture before my wedding. I tend to slouch and have some hyperlordosis from my desk job.

Very true. I was never diagnosed with CFS despite showing all the symptoms, but dr's couldn't find anything else wrong. In the end I got fed up with all the tests and have just been doing what I feel like I can do each day.

I'm in Melbourne, north western suburbs.

Thanks everyone. I did the workout above and went for a walk with my partner tonight, the whole thing only took 45 minutes out of my night and it felt great to get some fresh air :) I'll stick with my plan of walking daily with a couple of weekly yoga sessions and weight workouts for a few weeks before progressing to…

Um, I just listed a week long workout plan above after people suggested that I need to make time to workout and should check out various links/YouTube (which I did and which is how I came up with the ideas listed). I've clarified what I meant by me time and the only excuse I can see I've given is that I cannot afford to…

Oh you lucky thing! If I was anywhere near the sea or a lake I'd be out there every day kayaking or swimming! I grew up near the beach and miss it terribly... one day!

Starting tonight (because why not start today?!) I think I might do something like this: * Mon - 2x15 squat + overhead press; 2x15 single leg dumbell row (each side); 3x20 second planks; 2x15 lunges (each side); 2x10 supermans (I figure this will take me 20-30 minutes to complete); 30 minute walk * Tue - 30 minute brisk…

Only trouble is I can't afford the gym so I'll have to do my workouts at home. Maybe I should just start by doing 50 squats a day and see where that gets me :D

Great idea, thanks!

By "me time" I meant doing things to help me relax - like meditation, soaking in a bath, sitting in the sun for 5 minutes. I actually really like to be alone and find doing things like that for a few minutes every day really help my mental health.

I wish we had things like that in my area but I've looked for years and haven't found anything like it yet. The cheapest gym in my area is $30 a week.

I totally get that I need to make time, and that people with busier lives than me find time to workout. I can definitely fit in half an hour or so a day for a workout. I'm kind of after specific examples on things I could do in half an hour a day that build strength and are essentially free/very low cost? Basically…

Thanks canadianlbs. It's hard to not get caught up in the whole 'you need to be doing this, this and this to be healthy'. Personally I think health is a journey. Taking on a whole health program all at once has never helped me, I've always ended up burned out. My big lesson has been to learn to take my time, and take baby…

Thanks for the replies all. I definitely don't want to give up on this. I want to get to a point where I have the stamina to do boot camp classes, or ride for a couple of hours without stopping, or hike for 4+ hours at a time. Just one quick question, is cardio + yoga once a week enough for me right now? Can I do just…

I never got a diagnosis for my illness. My GP blamed stress, my psychologist blamed depression (which I don't agree with as I have dealt with both for years, this was psychical symptoms causing me distress, not the other way around). All my symptoms matched CFS but my GP pretty much brushed me off whenever I saw him about…

I'm not sure how a 30 minute walk, or a 30 minute gentle bike ride, or 10 minutes of light weight lifting could result in over training syndrome? I certainly don't feel I'm pushing myself too much when I exercise, in fact I'm quite conscious of keeping my heart rate down and stopping when I need to.

I drink a minimum of 1 litre of water a day, and usually a couple of cups of herbal tea as well. I also have 1-3 coffees a day. I'm not really accurately tracking my calorie intake properly at the moment (i.e. not weighing everything) but when I log it's usually 1500-1800 calories a day. I'm pretty good at guesstimating…

Out of ideas, almost out of hope :-(

I've been down the calorie counting path using digital scales and cups, I started to develop an unhealthy preoccupation with counting calories and every thought I had was about food. It was not healthy :-( I had to delete my apps and stay off them for a long time. I've started using MFP mainly as a food diary to help my…

Thanks. You don't need to exercise to lose weight, however I'm a firm believer that you need to exercise to be healthy. The human body is made to move and exert. I just can't adjust to mine not benefiting from exercise!

This. I get blood tests every year for iron, hemo, vitamins, thyroid and liver function - my levels are always normal. I had a B12 deficiency some time ago but this has since been fixed. The only foods I don't each much of are cream, soy products, certain beans, onion and apples (all of which trigger my IBS), and seafood…

I take 25mg of Valdoxan daily. Pretty much any strenuous activity that gets my heart rate up for over a few minutes. It can be a brisk walk, cycling up an incline, weight training, having to run for more than a couple of minutes, even doing too much housework can wear me down!

Thank for the example, I like the idea of starting off with 1 set, too often in the past I've jumped right in with 3 sets then beaten myself up for not completing the workout then given up. I think 1 set building up to 2 would be manageable.
