  • Beat me to the punch here. I agree that Larabars taste good and have a better natural ingredient composition than most granola/health/snack bars on the market, but I prefer them when I'm on the go and need a quick dose of carbs (and for whatever reason a fruit or decent carb source is not available).
  • @divcara As promised, I'll weigh in on the Oh Yeah! chocolate birthday cake protein bar-- Let me first express how high I had set the bar for this one. I love the Oh Yeah! original birthday cake flavor so much that it's what got me interested in trying a ton of protein bars and reviewing them. I finally felt that higher…
  • I usually find a good selection at local health food stores and chains i.e. Complete Nutrition, Vitamin Shoppe--seems Vitamin Shoppe has the newest bars in earlier than anyone else. I can also usually find a handful of the popular flavors at Meijer, too. I've seen some of the higher end bars at Kroger, too, but can't…
  • Will do! I'll post something here as well, but my current main avenue for reviews will be on my Instagram @nerdragefit
  • Short answer-yes. You'll have great days and you'll have really rough days, too. I wasn't much of a runner until I did the cardio cinema option at my gym. Distracting your mind is good to build your endurance at first. Further, I found a show I liked and only watched it if I was on the treadmill--no exceptions. I started…
  • I used to be the same way with caffeine. I'm not a huge fan of regular consumption myself, but I like it prior to a workout to give me that extra little jolt I need to power through either early in the morning or after a long day at work. But on to what I pulled your quote out for--if you like the occasional fancy coffee…
  • Keeping a good eating plan gets about 10283% harder when you're on the road, so I feel your pain. You're definitely on the right track trying to get hotel rooms with a fridge. I guess my question is are you flying mostly or driving? If you're driving, you might benefit from getting one of those fancy meal prep bags…
  • Let me preface that I'm no expert as I'm also catching the protein bar wave, but here's what I've learned so far: 1) I shoot for a 12 hour nightly fast (usually 8:30p-8:30a) to help give my digestive system a break. I can typically eat one near the close of the feeding period before bed around 10:30 and go to bed feeling…
