@88olds Your observation, I believe is spot on! I am currently actively testing this theory to see if my plateau on weight loss can be returned to actively losing. Thank you for your insight.

@tiffany80802017 I've been reading this thread with a great deal of interest because the scenario is what was going with me for these last couple of months. Loving me some data is second only to loving me some logic. Here's my "Ah Ha" truth about my numbers: I had plateaued on my exercise and was doing the same comfortable…

I notice that if I am having issues it helps for me to close the application (on my PC) and open it in a different browser. I switch between Google Chrome, Modzilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. The same holds true for my phone, I just ditch the phone and get onto the PC and try to find a working browser. Hope this gives…

My yoga story: Like many folks I can be a bit self conscious about tight fitting clothing, a new challenge (yoga) and a bunch of strangers. I figured the answer was to pick up a $3 beginner video and sure enough, Saturday morning rolled around and I laid down the yoga mat and started the video while my husband was out…

@FitByFifty1970 - welcome. For me, this is a long term commitment to getting to my goal weight and maintaining it for the rest of my life. This translates to me having a stake in our LL community and being a positive influence as best as I can. Our LL community is a big part of my support and I enjoy reading the posts and…

My Halloween treat to myself is to have two or three pieces of good quality chocolate (Godiva or Sees) and the trick is to only buy two or three pieces and save them for that particular evening! Spooky, eh?!

@gewel321 there are some really thoughtful insights from both @merph518 and @88olds and I am curious to read your response to each. The only thing I want to add is that "Grandma days" are precious things. I say this because my grandmas are gone and I am (one of) the grandmas in our family. I am learning to approach meals a…

A Plug for Accountability: So, before I met up with you fine folks at LL I spent quite a bit of time "lurking" on various group sites and chats (and not joining). I found a group I really like, they are called the Ultimate Accountability Challenge and it runs monthly. The reason this particular group appealed to me is that…

My bad shopping experience was not being able to utilize my Kohls discount before it expired. 30% off and Khols cash to boot - total bummer. Ah well, I'll purchase that dual control electric blanket for the guest room soon.

It's the jeans, it's always about the jeans, and yesterday on a whim I tried on a pair that I had shoved to the back of the closet as too tight. Tried them on and no sucking it in to zip or button - WAY TO GO! Is there a jean emoji?!

Yes x 3. Exercise was more heavy cleaning and moving furniture.

Yes x 3. Exercise was the treadmill.

Yes x 3. Made my step goal.

Yes x 3! Exercise was the treadmill, yet again. NSV I will have to ponder......

@Ver9nika those are very sensible and practical tips, thank you for sharing. I like your ideas so much I wrote them down and keep them close to me with thanks to you each time I read it.

This post may be better suited to the cognitive behavior therapy thread - but here goes! I am attempting to actively re-program my "fat brain" tendencies. Here is an example: Yesterday our family concluded my son's deployment ceremony with lunch out. Looking over the menu I challenged myself to find the most interesting…

Ah, man! Everyone writes a cookbook, @NovusDies ! It's like the required recording of a Christmas Album. I want to write the great American novel! No lacking of ambition here, lol

Portugal! Awesome! I understand that Portugal has some lovely beaches, one of my friends and her husband were there for an entire month! They went from one vacation home to the next as the mood suited them. They were also very impressed with the health care they received (on a cash basis) when ill. They said they would…

Thank you for the nice words @cheryldumais - if I can get my non-coffee drinkers @papayahed - wanting a cuppa jo then perhaps I will write a novel in retirement. Now, to get to retirement!

Right? And yes, I was that kid at school that drove many teachers to distraction with asking questions.... A good ponder is a lovely thing, as are shapely ankles but let's not go down the path of women's stockings, lol.
