  • @mom23mangos CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Your butt has touched the ground! Haha. That's awesome, keep up the good work and have patience with your injured side, it will come along in due time.. I'm so glad our group is slowly progressing :) Are you managing to stretch on a daily basis, or almost?
  • Coconut rice! Adding coconut canned milk to the rice while cooking gives it a subtle delicious flavor and creaminess. I always cook a garlic clove in a little bit of olive oïl (onion goes well too), add fresh parsley/other spices and then the rice, give it a swirl and add the stock. The flavor is quite different from…
  • @mom23mangos thanks, I'll give it a try next day I have extra time in the gym. Your progress pics look good, you're sooo close! Are you working on handstands? How are your shoulders holding up? I haven't been dedicating too much time to them but this week I'm back at it @mbaker566 I've realized that as well, some poses…
  • I found some nice cheap ones in Decathlon, hidden in a corner of the runner's section. They have thongs and panties, form fitting but in both cases made with wide strips of fabric on the sides which won't dig into your body.
  • Haha I will probably need even more! But I'm up to try with 90 days...see if I can get that pulled leg feeling better by then and my legs into something resembling a far-fetched split. Should we just continue with this thread then? Or create a new one for the next month? I am lacking in challenge-creation-and-renewal…
  • I know girls, I feel like my side split stretch hasn't progressed AT ALL! I know that's not true and I can feel I stretch significantly further during other exercises but it feels soo slow :'( I'm glad that I'm not alone here! @mom23mangos I had completely forgotten about foam rolling! Since my gym is cheap you actually…
  • How has everyone been doing this week? I've been struggling with a bad cold for almost two weeks now, feeling super sluggish and tired so I'm working out very little and tomorrow I get my period soo it's not getting any better. I've managed to stretch (almost) every day except when I felt really sick. My left hammie is…
  • You can also try Fitness Blender, they have a Workouts section in their site where you can tailor the amount of time, equipment, body area you want to focus on, etc. It's very useful when you need some inspo. https://fitnessblender.com/
  • How thoroughly cooked were the eggs? I eat 1-2 eggs daily and I do remember once, a couple of years ago, that something similar happened to me. At that time I was favoring slightly undercooked scrambled eggs, half-boiled eggs etc, and I felt it was the fact that they were slightly raw which made my stomach upset. I lay off…

  • Technically it would end next week as I started the challenge at the very end of April (I counted the days yesterday to see how much time I had left lol), but yes, I mentioned in the original post that it would be easier to just make it for the month of May. (Plus I need to compensate those missed days :D) @mbaker566 I…
  • I agree with @JaiNicole7, the flavor is lighter and you have to cook it at a lower flame as it can easily dry out (less fat content). I like to cook it ground with garlic, onion, carrot and peppers and add crushed tomatoes and basil. Or make hamburger patties, meatballs, tacos...just remember to keep things moist.
  • Hahaha I had made some sort of idea in my head along these lines...finally I will read it properly! I love mangoes, wouldn't mind that last name at all :D This past week I've been visiting back home and missed 3 days of stretching (at least not in a row). I'm so annoyed at having to admit it but oh well..I'm plowing…
  • Protein sources like yoghurt and cottage cheese for when I need a snack, for breakfast oats keep me full for the longest, and giant servings of soup for dinner (loaded with veggies and a protein source such as chicken or tofu).
  • I love the girls behind this website, they have tons of smoothie recipe combinations, below is a link to their 'guide to a perfect smoothie combo'. https://simplegreensmoothies.com/the-rawkstar-perfect-blend-smoothie-formula They do tend to use expensive fruits (or at least for me as I depend more on seasonal fruits) but…
  • Walk. Walk. Walk! The benefits of walking are well known, and it is really the best exercise for when you are starting out and are carrying around too much weight. You don't want to injure yourself, forcing too much weight and movement on your arteries and joints. Start off with about 20-30 minutes of walking each day and…
  • Cooking/steaming veggies helps. A PT recommended me once to eat artichokes which help the liver digest all the protein, and fennel to help with indigestion (and gas) which can be caused by a more elevated protein intake. I like to boil artichokes with lemon and have them as a side. Fennel is delicious slowly roasted in the…
  • Welcome @foxy8609 !! Today I meant to take progress pics but I had a mediocre workout and then stretching felt pretty much the same, I guess I was tired from yesterday's leg day. I don't feel there's much progress, I'm not sure if I should be pushing myself harder or have more patience as I'm pretty sore from the…
  • How about bloating, do you feel like you retain a lot of liquids? Mostly plateaus test your patience (it's a mind struggle) and the best is to stick it out as it will probably come off quite suddenly when you least expect it to. Some people suggest doing a reefed, but I'm no expert in this field. Here's a useful thread if…
  • I'm with the Wednesday group! Enough time to lose water weight from the weekend and have worked out sufficient days.
  • When I was in maintenance I found the two important things that helped me stay there were not stressing over food and upping my exercise in ways I didn't mind. For example, I walked or would use my bike everywhere I could, everyday, and this way even if I didn't go to the gym, I had a small deficit already. I'd take the…
  • I agree, thinking about it as a long term race lifts off the tension about having to be successful. It's been over a week and a half and I've missed two days of stretching due to unforeseen circumstances but I do try to make up for it stretching for longer the next day. I don't feel there's been much progress but I'll take…
  • Yes, welcome both! I'll post progress photos around the two week mark to check if my posture needs correcting etc, though I feel there won't be much 'progress' in itself :D
  • Thank you! I'll try this this evening, I can already feel it in my hamstrings... The rest of your pics are great, I didn't even see your face I'm so in awe of how you can put your legs up there. Very motivational!
  • @wezreeeee77 using books as a yoga block - I hadn't thought of using props, good idea! I took my photos by propping the phone against a chair and using the 10 second timer so it was a bit of a rush getting into position haha, hopefully I'll get someone to take them next time as well :D As for the split, I'm sure some of…
  • I agree with @sardelsa, though it might not be what you want to hear. I've been there and it's true that if you want the results of your hard work to last, then you will want a more moderate weight loss in a month. It is possible to lose 10 pounds in a month, but especially if you're leaving on a holiday to Europe, it will…
  • I agree, your son and his teacher sound like a very complete duo! I love Renaissance men and multitalented people in general. I've tried silks and liked them too, but here in Paris everything is soo expensive and I'm on a budget so I can't afford to spend on classes (for now). I'm at this cheap French chain of gyms that…
  • @wezreeeee77 @mom23mangos I'm glad you guys are joining! It's a great way to motivate each other to push further, or get back to where you where @mom23mangos. It's so cool you're doing acrobatics @wezreeeee77! I'd love to try that out (it's called acrobatics, right?). A few months ago I tried acroyoga and loved it even…
  • You can pretty much mix cottage cheese with anything, both sweet and salty. On a rice cake with some strawberries on top, or with ham, tomato and basil. For a sweet breakfast in the morning, oatmeal is a good option, you can just cook it for 10 minutes with water instead of milk to drop the calories. Since you'd have to…
  • Thank you!! The feedback is extremely helpful - just what I was looking for and not at all nitpicky, I'd rather get the base technique right if I'm going to be doing this everyday. I did notice in the first 2 figures my 'back' knee tends to open up, so I'll concentrate on keeping the shoulders and hips facing forward.…
  • Yay!! This way I'll have you as a judge of progress. :# I took some photos yesterday, apologies for the lighting as it was night and I've had to edit them so you can actually distinguish my pants from the sofa behind. As can be seen, my flexibility right now is..lacking. I've already stretched this morning after my workout…
