Yep! So true. I used to be a Starbucks latte every day kind of girl. 500 calories for a drink. Then I’d have a biscuit sandwich and then a hamburger for lunch with fries. A bunch of chocolate for a snack and then dinner on top of that. And i wondered why I gained 80 pounds.... If i can do it, You can do this too!

Question...on some profiles when I click on them the city and state are listed, however on some profiles, nothing is listed. I’ve tried to take my zip off entirely and MFP will not allow it. How do I hide my city and state? I don’t want others to see it.

It’s a complete waste of money for the most part. If it helps you meet your calorie goals then I suppose it “works”. But there are plenty of ways to meet your calorie goals and therefore get results without throwing money at this type of product.

Not sure why you need to be in that dress in particular, but what happens after the event? Do you just go back to old ways? Why not focus on making sustainable changes for life rather than just focusing on wearing a dress.

I’m officially in size mediums across the board. Not just sometimes if something fits a bit large! The feeling of “I don’t need Xs any more” has gone to “no larges here” :)

You can eat whatever you want, as long as it fits in your calorie goals. So just eat the ones you enjoy.

A year ago I was 227, I’m 175 today. Keep at it, be honest with yourself and your logging (log it ALL) and don’t beat yourself up if you indulge every now and again. Log your indulgent days too. If you don’t have a food scale, get one. Weigh and measure everything you possibly can. You CAN do it!

We buy plain kernels in the bag and use one of these bad boys with a tiny bit of water at the bottom. Pop it in the microwave. There is no salt, butter, etc unless you add it, which we don’t. So we can enjoy popcorn for very low calorie!!

I’ve found that as long as I sample everything, they probably aren’t paying too much attention to my plate. If I mention something about watching what I’m eating or how much, NOW everyone is looking at my plate! Don’t draw attention to your plate and eat a bit of everything. Drink lots of water too.

Wrong. Were you under the care of a doctor? Because a good doctor would have been highly worried about your lack of gain.

You don’t have to give up bread or sugar to lose weight. In fact, you are setting yourself up for a binge. Eat within the calories MFP gives you, choose the foods that fill you up the most (this varies person to person), and that’s it. No need to eliminate anything!!!

Just a quick follow up question for you (even though you kinda hijacked this thread from the OP), you say you cook everything from scratch at home, therefore you say it is “not processed” or “clean”. Do you cook with flour at all? Flour is one of the hallmarks of “processed”

At first I lost 8-10 pounds a month up through the first3-4 months. After that it slowed to about 5 pounds a month for about 5 months, now it’s more like 2 pounds a month. Very very slow now that I am getting closer to goal.

Yes, I do. It sucks sometimes, but for me is about the layers. First, I wear three layers, a tank top, a “dry fit” long sleeve pullover and a fleece zip up over that. Gloves are a must. Why are carbs the enemy? Do you need to lose weight or are you at a healthy weight? There is no reason to hate yourself for indulging every once in a while!
