  • I had a pretty good week last week. I’m two weeks back in the saddle of low carb, no snacking and being dedicated to fasting. I did 3 days of 22-24 hour fasts and then 16-18 on the other days. I’m down about 3 pounds. Could be water so in the coming weeks I hope to make that fat loss.
  • Hey all, I’m still hanging in. I lost a little over a pound last week after doing a couple of 24 hour fasts and then doing between 16 and 18 on the other days. I’m watching carbs more closely and am making protein and fats my priority. I don’t have a lot to lose so know it will be slow going but I’m pretty sure I can keep…
  • I ended yesterday with a 23 hour fast and today with 17.5 hours and low carb for lunch and dinner. No urge to snack the last couple of days so my focus on protein and fat has definitely worked. Tomorrow is a flex day as we agreed to meet the in laws for pizza. Not ideal but I’ll try and not completely go off the rails and…
  • Small victory yesterday by not snacking after dinner. I felt satisfied so must have had enough fat and protein at dinner. Did a 17 hour fast before having lunch. Trying another 24 hour fast today but am feeling hungry this a.m. already so hopefully work distracts enough.
  • I got through a 23 hour fast and ate mostly protein and fat for dinner. Then hubs broke out chips so I did have a few but really wasn’t feeling it. I think that is habit more than anything. Tomorrow I’ll eat when hungry which normally hits at about the 16 hour mark. My husband was supposed to be onboard with me today but…
  • I’m late to the party this month being busy with life and darn it, I need to get this butt in gear. My focus will be 5:2 fasting and getting back to serious low carb.
  • I’ve been totally slacking this summer so need to jump back in for accountability. Hopefully people are busy and will come back to check in soon!
  • Well it is mid month and I’ve been quiet here. I’ve been feeling like I’m on a hamster wheel, not wanting to log, not wanting to watch carbs but knowing I need to for long term benefits. I go through these peaks and valleys occasionally. I started reading Dr Fung’s Obesity Code and so far it is interesting but depressing…
  • I’m still here doing what I can. The nice weather has made me want to sit outdoors with drinks so I’ve had more alcohol recently than normal. But I am keeping with daily strength training and 4 mile walks so hopefully it has balanced out a bit. It helps that my husband has started to be better about what he is eating. But…
  • I’ve done alright in snacking this week but portions have not been great. I did carb up on Wednesday and Friday because of my 36 hour fast and scope. But I did realize now that if I want to do a 24 hour fast now and again, I totally can do it. Because of being off work I’ve also had more drinks than I normally would but…
  • I’m in for May as well even though we are a week in. I’ll continue my cycle synching and want to watch snacking (seems a common area of struggle) and portion sizes. I’ve gained a little weight in the last month but my scale shows I’ve dropped body fat percentage. I’m not sure how much to trust that little liar so I’ll need…
  • As the month ends, I haven’t lost weight but I do have a non scale victory to celebrate. I stopped in for my annual labs and physical this week. All came back looking good with improvement across the board. So even though I’ve stayed in the same weight range for the past year, I’m getting healthier. My consistency with…
  • I haven’t checked in for a bit but am still here trying to work on my consistency. I’ve had terrible urges this week to snack after dinner but I have been successful all but once in talking myself out of it. Work is stressful so I suspect I’m reacting to that. I’m in a bit of a stall but need to get a handle on portions…
  • I’m still here. It was a crazy holiday weekend in that having no plans turned into plans with back to back days of adult drinks. Saturday drinks were unplanned but Sunday I made a promise I wouldn’t graze on off plan food and I didn’t. But I also drank way more than planned on drinks I didn’t bring so the sugar/carb…
  • There is a goals option in the main menu that will allow you to set each macro percentage manually. Answering the information around your goal weight, current weight and activity level should adjust your calorie goal automatically..
  • Struggling a bit tonight with having the urge to mindlessly eat and know I’m totally not hungry. I ended the day with 150g of protein but still feel that habit trying to pull me back in. Fortunately I didn’t succumb but it helps when my husband is being good himself. Isn’t it crazy how influenced we can be by other’s…
  • I had in laws over for lunch Saturday so did did eat some carbs and have found that dairy just really isn’t agreeing with me these days. Yesterday I mindlessly ate graham crackers and my knees and hips are paying for it this morning so I have to remember these repercussions the next time I think about going off plan. Back…
  • I too, have been keto and low carb since about 2016. I had gotten to my heaviest weight, went on high blood pressure meds and saw a pic of myself that didn’t make me feel good about my habits. I lost 30 pounds, went off the meds and have stayed relatively low carb, and mix in some carnivore now and again. My focus now is…
  • My plan for April is to consistently be active in planning meals so I don’t resort to bad decision making. I’ll keep logging (even the days I’m not feeling it) and prioritize protein to keep snacking at bay. I started cycle syncing mid March so plan to keep this up as well. I haven’t dropped any weight since January so…
  • Food was a bit of a struggle for me this week too, @kimberwolf71. I let my husband talk me into donuts, my total weakness. But I’m back in the saddle afterwards. I think I justified the choice by being in a hormone feast phase of my cycle where a few more carbs are encouraged (just not that many). Also, in looking at your…
  • If you go into settings then choose diary settings you show be able to share from there.
  • @PaulaKro I seem to remember you having great success in the past. You know what works- you got this! And welcome back!
  • Ah, the scale...I really want to break up with it and not worry about the number, but darn it, that is hard and as women, I think it is engrained into our very nature. I wondered how I've been trending so I took a look since I weigh myself regularly. Over the last year, I've stayed within the same 10 pound range. I guess I…
  • I survived a carby start to the week from celebrating my birthday and finished off the desserts yesterday so got back to keto today and was quite relieved. I know how my body rebels against sugar and carbs and yet I still partake. Isn’t that just dumb?? Ah well, another year to keep learning, I suppose. While eating off…
  • @megan_smartiepants1970 hang in there! For anyone interested in cycle syncing, the gist is this. One the first day of your period thru day 10 go strict keto, longer fasts like 17 hours and go heavy on weights, HIIT or running. Your body can handle it at this point. Day 11-15 shorten fasts to about 15 hours, add a few more…
  • I'm not able to post a PDF here otherwise I'd share my fasting guide I've downloaded from a program I'm trying out. It's through the BSB Tribe and is called Healthy Clean Keto Weight Loss program. She touches on carb cycling/cycle syncing and has tips on breaking stalls, fasting and dealing with the brain side of food…

  • I’ve been doing a lot of research lately and as I’m in my peri menopause years I want to ease into this experience with as little disruption to my life (and the poor souls around me). So I’ve landed on cycle syncing, which entails fasting and eating to support your hormones throughout the month. I read Fast Like A Girl and…
  • @LifeChangz when I hit the 18 hour mark I am starting to feel the need to eat but before then I do fairly well fasting. Sometimes I wake up feeling hungry but after a few sips of coffee that normally goes away. My scale is being a lying *kitten* over the last several weeks so I need to grab some measurements to see if…
  • I need to focus on slowing down while eating so I’ll give mindfulness a try this month. Along the same lines as @LifeChangz, I’ve been tryin to reflect at night about what I’m grateful for that day. I haven’t been consistent but have found it takes my mind off the negatives from the day. For nutrition this month, I’m…
