I second the recommendations for Dannon light and fit or half a quest bar. I literally have half a quest bar in a ziploc bag in my purse most of the time. Air popped popcorn is also good. You can get a bag of skinnypop popcorn (or whatever other brand) and portion out 100 calories worth into ziploc bags. I've also done…

I like hidden veggies. If there's enough cheese and seasoning, it doesn't even feel like veggies. My favorite recipes are cauliflower pizza and cauliflower tots. Zucchini is another vegetable you can "hide" in a lot of dishes like pasta with zoodles. There are also lots of dessert recipes with hidden veggies like zucchini…

Also, if you are counting calories, you really can eat however and whenever you want. If breakfast or lunch isn't your thing, you don't have to eat at those times. But if you aren't paying attention to what you eat and how many calories you're consuming, it's hard to tell why you're gaining weight and even harder to fix…

For me, it's a combination of abstaining and moderating. I incorporate plenty of treats into my diet and I've also found low calorie meals that I love and look forward to eating - both of these help me stick to my goal. But for some foods, I just abstain altogether. For example, with chips, I can't have only one serving.…

If it's any comfort, I'm pretty similar. I started in October with Couch to 5K and had to give up around week 3? 4? It just wasn't happening. I quit the app but I kept practicing. It's now 6 months later and I can run about half a 5k and alternate walking and jogging the rest. So I don't think everyone improves at running…

Extreme wellness high fiber tortillas - they're 50 calories each and have like 40% of my daily fiber. I make so many different things with these tortillas - wraps, burritos, etc. Cauliflower - I replace everything with cauliflower. Cauliflower pizza and cauliflower tots are my favorite, I still haven't figured out a good…

I've used blue apron. Some of their recipes are higher calorie than I'd like, but the upside is that I've found a couple of recipes that were super filling and that I've made again. (Plus, when I make it the second or third time, I can usually make some substitutions that make it lower calorie.) I've also tried home chef -…

This. As others have said, go ahead and skip breakfast. But you may still need to adjust your expectations for weight loss. 50 days is 7 weeks. Unless you are significantly overweight, you shouldn't try to lose more than a pound a week. If you only have a few pounds to lose, half a pound per week is a more reasonable goal.…

Here's a forum thread with food ideas for calorie dense food. If you need to get more calories but you're feeling stuffed, these foods might help you reach your goal: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10142490/a-list-of-calorie-dense-foods/p1 I'd also say that if you're eating the bare minimum, you should pay…

I second the protein bar suggestion. I generally skip breakfast but keep some Quest bars in my purse. If I'm really hungry, sometimes just a piece of one can keep me full for a couple of hours. (I think any protein bar brand with really high protein and fiber will be the most filling.) When you're trying to eat fewer…

That sounds like it might give you the most accurate TDEE, but if you're trying to lose weight rather than maintain, it might get a little tricky figuring out how much you should eat. I guess you could do it that way and then just eat 500 or 250 calories below what MFP tells you to eat (depending on whether you want to…

I agree with @JeromeBarry1. Diet is the most important step for weight loss. Exercise is helpful for a lot of reasons (overall health, makes it easier to stay in a deficit, boosts your metabolism, etc.) but it's not essential for weight loss. I think everyone has times where their motivation is low. For me, I've been going…

I agree with the saving calories idea. It's important to play around with your snacks though and find something satisfying. For me, salty snacks are rough. I love chips, but even if I try to choose low calorie chips (low fat cheez its, good thins, rice cakes, etc.), ~200 calories of chips is not satisfying and I always…

There's a lot of good tips already, here are some of mine: I make a lot of wraps. This tortilla brand is only 50 calories and has like 40% of your daily fiber. http://olemex.com/index.php/2013-07-26-20-44-53/traditional-mexican/item/178-high-fiber-tortilla-wraps-8 So I'll make turkey wraps with some deli meat and fat free…

I thought I hated vegetables too, but it turns out that if I add enough spices or cheese, cauliflower is pretty tasty and super low calorie so now I try to put it in everything. Buzzfeed is my favorite website for recipes that look and taste like junk food but have hidden veggies. Here's a big list of hidden veggie…

As everyone else said, if all you care about is losing weight, don't worry about the ratio of fats, proteins, and carbs. Your macros have zero effect on your weight loss and only affect how hungry you are, so go with whatever ratio makes you feel full or suits your cravings. When it comes to nutrition though, a good rule…

Lifting is always helpful. Is it harder to build muscle while you're eating at a deficit and trying to lose weight? Yes. But the flipside is that when you're eating at a deficit and losing fat, you're also losing muscle. Strength training and lifting weights during your weight loss helps to make sure you lose as little…

I started without one. I'm 5'0" and started at 155ish. I lost 20ish pounds just trying to eat better. Since that was going well, I took a "challenge" from another website to lose 10% of my bodyweight which was 13 pounds at the time and that brought my to MFP. Now I'm 111ish. I'm not toned and I think I still have some…

I'm a little late here, but I saw this recipe and thought it was pretty cool for anyone trying to mix cream of tartar and eggs. https://www.buzzfeed.com/alixtraeger/cloud-bread?utm_term=.tq90Jj7Vr#.fdGWrYdjA

Your height and starting weight would help people know for sure. For the most part though, yes, you will lose weight at 1250 calories. If you are under 5' and don't do any exercise, your maintenance calories might be as low as 1400, but even then, you'd still lose weight at 1250.

What did you set you weight loss goal for? If you told MFP you want to lose 1 pound per week, your calorie goal is a 500 deficit per day. So if you ate 300 calories over, you're still at a deficit of 200 calories. Don't shave off calories from the rest of your week. In my opinion, that's a good way to put yourself on a…

If you want a 2 lbs weight loss per week, you should eat 1000 calories below your TDEE (this number includes exercise.) I checked a TDEE calculator and your TDEE (not including exercise) is probably between 2500-2800, so 1800 actually seems good to lose 2 pounds a week. Again, if you exercise a lot you should eat back some…

It depends on your definition of "cheat." If "cheat" means eat whatever you want and don't count the calories or log, then never - I don't recommend it for a day, I don't reccomend it for a meal. Sometimes I'll have a "cheat" day but for me that's a day where I eat at maintenance. I don't really ever have a day where I…

In general, yes, 35 pounds in 23 days is an unhealthy rate of loss, and at your height and weight, 1800 calories might be a little low if you exercise a lot and don't eat back those calories. There are a couple of caveats though: 1. How positive are you that you were 275 when you started? Is it possible you might have been…

At the end of the day, you just have to want it. If you don't want it, there's nothing a stranger on the internet can say to you to magically give you motivation. The good news though is that if "I'm lazy" and "I'm out of shape" is code for "I don't want to exercise" then the good news is that you're in luck. You don't…

Clyn90 has good advice. Also, I'm guessing you've gone down in clothing size as well. Do you still have your larger size clothes? If you try on something that used to fit snugly before you started, I bet you'll see a big difference now. I'm down 40ish pounds and I've had moments where it doesn't feel like much, but if I…

I agree with everyone else - save some calories for dessert. People have already covered my favorites - halo top, jello sugar free pudding, etc. Some other good choices - Yasso makes frozen Greek yogurt bars - it's just like an ice cream snack with cookie dough or cookies and cream. I also like regular Greek yogurt - the…

No. Maybe you are undereating now, but no one in the history of time became overweight by undereating. It doesn't matter how sedentary you are. If you are 5'5", you will burn more than 1200 calories just by being in a coma. And you can't slow down your metabolism to a point where you will gain weight by undereating. It's…

Don't eyeball is the real solution. Guessing from a picture online is still eyeballing. You should weigh your food to get your portuons accurate. If you can't access a food scale, using measuring cups is the next best option.

I haven't hit a real plateau yet. My weight loss is around 1.3 pounds per week, so even though I might expect to see .5 lb weight loss every 3-4 days, I've had a couple of times where my weight stayed the same for a week or so before a big drop. So for real plateaus, I haven't hit one yet. I've been losing since…
