Holding all else steady, increasing your physical activity will definitely help with weight loss. One of my best friends and I went out dancing almost every weekend in 1999 and she lost a lot of weight and slimmed down significantly. Do what you love, and you will see a difference.

Planks, leg lifts.

There are free Yoga apps in the app stores, and Nike+ Training Club now has a new yoga module. There are yoga poses in Sworkit as well.

boobie tassels. ;)

I'll try that tomorrow and see what's up.

May also be a good idea to try a C25k trainer and start in one of the advanced weeks, like week 4 or 5.
-
My understanding was that waist trainers would not work without diet and exercise to keep fat down and develop muscle.

Start by running a little longer, and slow down. Try running in intervals, parts slow, parts normal, but go farther. Push yourself to the extra tenth of a mile to 2.6. Do that for a week or two and then push yourself to 2.7 and so on. The thing is that it is probably your brain kicking out before your body really does.

I have a Charge HR and I think it's nice, but perhaps overrated. It's useful for sleep monitoring and to some extent for running but I think I controlled my weight better just by going on MFP without the calorie adjustments from Fitbit.

MMF doesn't calculate stride length by itself, I think it relies on the accelerometer and gps info to count. But there is support for devices that capture stride length, and the Charge HR doesn't have that technology. You know, it's funny... the Charge HR does calculate the distance but for some reason it's not…

I only use it intermittently because I use a number of apps, but it's as good as the other apps I also use.

Lots of great apps out there with bodyweight exercises for strength and more. I will second Sworkit, it is one of my favorites. Daily Workout Apps, Nike+ Training Club, pushup/situp/squat/pullup challenge programs and tons of 7 minute HIIT workouts.

Swimming was my gateway to more intense workouts. I am not a strong swimmer but I did learn how to do a couple of survival strokes. If you can float, do the survival backstroke and you can get a lot of mileage out of it. Here is a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXpgGezjvZA If you pull up your arms and knees as much…

I understand how you feel. My suggestion would be to do a little bit in the mornings - there are plenty of short workouts that you can find on the Internet (I use Pinterest to find them because there are tons of easy visual charts; HIIT, morning workout are good search terms) or apps on your phone like the 7 minute HIIT…

I have a different set from Skullcandy and I have had to replace it twice already. It sounds nice and has good bass but is not worth the hassle in warranty returns.

MMF is not really the problem. MMF's step count is wildly over what Fitbit says but that isn't showing up in the workout information in MFP. MMF's step count is not a part of the calculations, as far as I can see. MFP is gathering the step data from Fitbit just as I set it in the preferences, but I think that, because of…

I wanted to use Fitbit's calorie estimate for the work but keep the log in the MFP diary. I want to trust Fitbit more, but stick with MMF/MFP. It is a Charge HR, a gift from a family member who replaced an old Fitbit for a newer model. This is my first wearable, so it's all still pretty new to me. It seems to be a workout…

Hi heybales, thanks for answering. It's an activity record, I cannot edit the calories for it, only the name. Here's the routine: I will run or whatever, press the button to start a record and start MMF. Finish the run, stop MMF and press the button again. Record saves first to MMF, and I think MMF syncs to MFP and MFP…

When you have debilitating injuries, you really should consult a doctor or physical therapist, not an Internet forum for advice. No one knows the nature of your injury, and the advice given could make it worse. Please consult a professional for a program to help you.

I got a Charge HR as a gift and it's holding up so far, but I'm most curious about the Motiv ring. It's in pre-order right now and is only compatible with Apple, but I will take a look at it once it comes out and is compatible with Android. But this product is the one I am most curious about because it's unobtrusive since…

I've been using it because I like the UI for activity when I run, walk, ride. I like seeing the route, time, etc. in the activity feed, and the dashboard. Plus there are a couple of challenges I joined that I like. I don't actually log gym workouts into MMF except in unusual circumstances. I actually have the same problem…

I uninstalled all of the apps and use MapMyFitness, which can handle all sorts of workouts. It's all basically the same thing.

second for Anita. The new air control bra wicks moisture like a beast and is sexy, too.

You can do it! I totally understand how you feel. The exercises requiring balance are rough, I feel like a dork when I have to balance on my tailbone. I have a long way to go before I get good at that. No shame, though... you're getting stronger.

Daily Workout Apps has nice workouts and is easy to use. Level 1 of each category has good basic moves. The free version is fine but the pro version has kettlebell exercises as well, plus Pilates and ball exercises. The pro version is not a subscription so that is even better.

Sad to say but you will need to get up super early in the morning, like 4 or 5 am, to run. It may still be 90 degrees out at that time but with proper hydration, it can be done. When I was in the Army and it was 90 at 5am, we still ran. Now I'm a wuss and I don't like running when it's in the 80s, ha. Run before the sun is…

Road to Perdition

I find that FitBit and MFP are close, but part of it is the time - Fitbit apparently truncates the time, whereas MFP rounds up when it reports the activity, which may account for the calorie difference.

Use the side of the pool to push yourself up and out of the pool, I call them pool push-ups. Use the side to do splits as far as you can, practice different kicks. One thing I love to do in the pool is the survival backstroke. It's like doing jumping jacks in the water, I can swim long distances doing this stroke and it is…

I use a number of apps, Nike is one of them. Take time and watch the video previews of the exercises so you know what you're doing. Go at your own pace, do the best you can but focus on form first. That's going to be true with any app or workout. Don't be intimidated that you aren't Gabby Douglas. :)
