Apparently my new hobby is watching folks get worked up over which is the best snack food. :joy:

Ah yes, imposter Cheetos. :joy:

The ambiance of a Waffle House at midnight is definitely a sight to behold. The pecan waffles also are pretty dang good.

Agree. American chocolate is mostly "chocolate flavored" and not actually chocolate. The companies that manufacture actual chocolate or dark chocolate are pricier, but tastier. I have found some pretty decent chocolate bars (dark chocolate) in health food stores (of all places) that are good, but again.. more expensive. I…

1. I tend to be very skeptical on the whole. I believe most things can be explained scientifically or at least have erm.. terrestrial origins. 2. I don't believe in an afterlife. I'm agnostic (don't adhere to a religion or set of beliefs, but openly admit I have no clue what happens after we die and have no proof one way…

Or vice versa; believe in ghosts, but not necessarily an afterlife. Depends on how you define what a ghost is.

I like Godiva chocolates and pretty much any dark chocolate. If we were going by chocolate candy bars only though: Midnight Milky Way. I'd be willing to try a dark chocolate version of Snickers, though. I like ratio of peanuts to nougat in Snickers more than I do in any other similar bar.
-
Okay, I like Snickers... but it isn't chocolate. It's a candy bar. Chocolate flavored candy. :joy: At least, that's what it is in the U.S. In the U.K., it might be actual chocolate, I dunno. Actual chocolate I enjoy: Probably any of the Ritter Sport bars. I think they have them in the UK, too? Some have fruits, nuts or…

Hmm.. a game with a really good ending that was also fun to play. Such a rarity.

Okay then... I don't feel as left out. :joy:

I missed the drama again, didn't I? Dang it.

Checkin' in... bothering my cat, you know.. normal stuff.

I should ask you and a couple of others here how to cut my own hair. I can only trim my hair, but I'm super bored of my hair and I'm still technically not allowed to go or do anything because of my husband's job and the fact that I still can't get the vaccine yet. Now I'm wondering if I'd look good with bangs again..…

Now that I know a bit more about your situation (after reading your responses), I can respond: I've been in this particular thing more than once. The only way to "forget" them is to completely block off all communication with them (quit them cold turkey) and distract yourself as best you can. I still sometimes think about…

Normally, I am a very skeptical, science/fact based person, but I'm strongly considering that my dad's house may be haunted. More haunted now that my stepmom passed away. Loads of minor weird things have happened in and around the home since I was a child. Nothing dangerous or malicious, just.. weird. Things I sometimes…

Good to know that now that I'm 36, I qualify for "middle age". :grimace: I've been here since 2017, though.. and I was definitely not 36 then.

Wild how time flies, right?

I feel attacked. Especially so when I was with my dad and we were listening to the "oldies" station.. only to realize that "oldies" is now 80s and early 90s music. Excuse me, what??
-
It is a possibility.

Making threads on a fitness site that are very thinly veiled attempts to get free ammo for your weird fetishes. No shame as to what you like, but c'mon.. you can do a better job at disguising your desperation and thirst for strange things (strange is relative, I know).

He thinks I don't know what he's up to.

What? Noooooo... that's what freezers are for. I probably have a grocery's worth of bananas in there right now.

Okay, this makes me laugh because that's Coop from Twin Peaks... and I just finished watching most of it and the movie.

Binx was sleeping on my son's pillow when I got back from a walk tonight. A boy and his cat, fast asleep.

Yeah. I think if we had had enough time, that's what we would have done, however, I feel that by donating the flowers to someplace else where they can brighten the day and lives of others, it's a net positive for the world. I would have taken a plant, if I thought they'd let me take it back home on the airplane.

My aunt actually asked and found my stepmom's favorite flower (orchids) to make an arrangement at the funeral. I thought that was really sweet, but dad wasn't gonna take care of it, so we donated it as well. Still, it was lovely.
-
What's the reasoning behind giving flowers or plants to relatives at funerals? Why would you send something that is going to die in a week or two or a plant that has to be taken care of all the time? I'm curious where the tradition started and why. As for my stepmom's funeral: We donated pretty much all the flower…

There are a lot here, as well.. but it's almost exclusively food service. I guess a lot of folks realized that working for 2.13 an hour and relying on tips in pandemic times just wasn't worth sacrificing their health for.

I think it has helped to focus a lot on all the funny stories and good things she did for people in her life as opposed to remembering her death. I get teary eyed, sure, but getting to hear all the stories of fun stuff she did from nieces and nephews in the "before time" has been both enlightening and hilarious. She was…
