Meal prepped for the week :) mister gets the chicken thighs and I get the chicken breasts. About 1.25 cups of broccoli roasted with a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese, and baby carrots steamed with some margarine and brown sugar glaze.

could potentially be a "whoosh"....for me I will stay a steady weight for a few days then all of a sudden I will drop a pound or two. Sadly, for me, usually after the whoosh I'll gain a little back and the process repeats lol! I find my whooshes mostly come after higher sodium days/workout days where I might retain water,…

I literally came to the forums to vent about period cravings....ate about 3 servings of dinner and still felt ravenous! Lol! What kind of protein bar is that? Is it tasty?

you can put a dish on it :) When I go to weight my food, I put a plate/bowl on the scale, I hit the Tare button (it resets the weight to 0.00), then i put in whatever I'm weighing

Definitely get a kitchen scale :) I'm not at the point where I weight everything, I should I know, but I weight things that are more calorie-dense and am fine just measuring out a cup of broccoli since the difference in calories would be so minimal.

I meal prep and plan everything in advance :) Convenience is key, otherwise I'll struggle to do it. Yesterday I prepped all the breakfast and lunches for the week for both myself and my fiance (I've done this since I started on 1/15/17). He prefers boneless/skinless chicken thighs, I prefer boneless/skinless chicken…

Mine was really mushy, more of a polenta consistency lol! i still really enjoyed the flavor, and it's so low calorie I could probably eat an entire squash by myself =P I am tempted to try the cauliflower crust, but my fiance doesn't care for cauliflower except in a handful of preparations, so I'll have to wait until I have…

OMG I'm in love with spaghetti squash! so buttery! I overcooked mine the first time, but it still had really great flavor :)

World of Warcraft for me :) Currently 5? Level 110s, I think, and a couple scattered in the 100s. Main is a Tauren Druid, Resto main and Feral off, although I don't really heal much anymore :( Still, habit to max out the resto set first lol!

I cook both chicken breast and boneless/skinless chicken thighs on the stove top on sundays, along with two veggies (this week is roasted broccoli and roasted sweet potatoes), and store them in the fridge for the week and they are fine. I make individual lunches f or both myself and my fiance (he likes the chicken thighs,…

I'm in a similar position with my fiance. We started on 1/15/17, and he was very focused about staying on track. In the first 4 weeks he lost 15 lbs, and was super motivated to continue. After Valentines Day, though, he gained a couple pounds (most likely from water retention), and now he's letting the cravings control…

Sadly a lot of things can mask the weight loss so that you don't see it right away :( I know water retention is a big one for me. I have a day with high sodium, BAM, add an extra 1-3lbs the next day. I do a different workout than normal, BOOM, there's another 1-2lbs. Time of the month? forget about it, 5lbs. I actually…

Hey there! This is also my first time doing any kind of challenge or group :) Not a hardcore gamer/streamer (well, not anymore), mostly stick to WoW and a few console games. I currently count my calories and, for the most part, stick between 1200-1500 calories per day. No special meal plans or anything, although I find…

1. Make this about you. Whether it's for your health, your vanity, your sanity. Don't do this for someone else, they aren't the ones doing the work. 2. Not every day is going to be perfect. You might eat more than you should, you might eat less. you may not get enough steps in, or drink enough water. Know this is going to…

Thanks all :) I think I'll keep them around, maybe give one or the other a try this week or as needed. I wouldn't mind an energy boost occasionally, and it never hurts to have a laxative for those days things are just stuffed up ;) if I find they do nothing, or are pretty awful, then I'll toss them and write it off as a…

I will echo those that have said a standing desk. Some companies will get one for you if a doctor will write a note saying it would be beneficial/necessary health-wise (insurance companies see it as a better investment than injuries/medical conditions that can arise from sedentary lifestyle). If your company isn't able to…

I'm currently in this predicament also. Huge potluck for Mardi Gras, donuts/fashnauts, coffee, baked goods...all of it. donuts are a weakness for me, and I ate 2 of them this morning. I allowed myself that, and I might take a spoonful of some of the potluck items, but I'm going to eat the lunch I brought today as the main…

That's a great idea, I didn't think of that! thank you =D

oooo awesome! thank you! I'll try and find the chart :)

I have to echo those that say they feel more motivated to move when wearing one :) I started with a Fitbit One (which I still have, and wear in a band on my ankle). I recently got a Fitbit Charge 2, and I know there is absolutely no benefit to wearing 2 Fitbits, but I like wearing my One for the steps, and the Charge for…

Sounds like you have a great start!! that's awesome! This is my second time doing MFP as well. The first time was in 2013 and I lost close to 30lbs. I got a new job, a sedentary desk job, with a boss and co-workers who all enjoyed donuts and sweets and potlucks. Those 30lbs came back on faster thank I could blink. I…

Thank you!! Not an expert, but really focused on getting results :) Depending on what I'm making, it takes 2-3 hours generally because I like to cook my chicken/pork chops in a pan on my stovetop, and since I only have one large pan, I have to do it in batches. I'm sure if I cooked the chicken in the oven it would be a lot…

I'm finding that meal prep is the backbone of my new lifestyle change. I had gotten 3-compartment reusable meal containers (it was about $20 on amazon, and I got 20 containers), and I'm sure I'll be getting more just to prep even further. My issue is convenience...I get home and I don't feel like cooking, or I feel like…

Thank you!! I'll have to give it a try =D

I was thinking about this too, making muffin size cheesecakes :) that would be perfect for portion control!

Hi everyone! thanks for the responses, they've definitely helped :) I like the idea of using an overall weekly count to allow for some flexibility. I also like the idea of making a single-serve dessert/meal so that I'm not tempted to nibble at it later (I am not sure I have the willpower yet to say no if there's almost a…
