If I'm using the drippings in something (such as gravy or sauce), I'll make a quick recipe for that sauce and include it. Otherwise, if I am just using it to grease the pan, I don't log it. Most often its a spritz of vegetable or olive oil spray.

I do count fruits and vegetables, but I will usually grab an entry that sounds about right (medium banana, small apple, etc). I'm also one of few that don't weigh absolutely everything I eat. I will usually weigh my proteins, and more calorie dense foods, but with other things I'm okay just using the package details. That…

something for weight loss? nothing really I did add a multi-vitamin and a probiotic to my morning routine just because I wanted to make sure I was hitting all my vitamins, and I figured it wouldn't hurt to have good gut bacteria. I also like coffee/tea as a mild appetite suppressant to get me thru until my next meal/snack.

Like others have said, no pill will help =/ I find caffeine can help in curbing my appetite, which isn't so much for fat loss but to prevent me from eating =P I like to drink hot green tea in situations where I used to grab munchies (like when watching tv, or browsing forums). Coffee in the morning, and sometimes if I'm…

I am an office worker, and a lot of my steps just come from walking in place and on my lunch break. I aim for 8500 steps a day, and have gone as much as 17000 steps. I feel my fitbit over-estimates my calories because i know walking in place doesn't burn the same number of calories as regular walking, so I use it as a…

it very well could have been bloat for me, for sure :) with the sodium and hormones, I'm sure I've been retaining water for a while. Just felt great to have it gone ^_^

Money: I like to look for convenience things for my home. I've almost clicked the "Ship Order' button on amazon a bunch of times and hesitated just because I didn't want to spend the money just yet . Lately it's a stationary vacuum, kind of like an electric dust pan that you see in hair salons. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats,…

For me, I tend to respond at work, so I'll frequently start answering a question, have to stop to work, and will eventually get back to finishing it while on break. By then, a lot of people will have probably said what I've said a bunch of times lol

I've done this a few times since I've started dieting :) It wasn't so much emotional, but just saying "it's okay to eat what you like tonight". A couple of those times it was for special occasions, and another couple times it was because the mister and I were trying a new restaurant. We both love interesting eateries, and…

meal prep and planning is essential for me because I try and stay on a budget also :) I know some things might be different depending on location, but here are some of my favorites: -frozen veggies. I have Giant Foodstores in my area, and I can get a very large bag of frozen broccoli florets for about $4. I use this a lot…

My favorite is turkey enchiladas. http://www.recipe-diaries.com/2017/01/07/healthy-baked-turkey-enchiladas/ I actually make the filling beforehand and freeze it (I stretch it out a bit by using a larger zucchini and a whole large onion). I thaw it in the fridge or defrost in the microwave, heat it up completely on the…

one thing that I might add would be "don't beat yourself up". Everyone is going to have a rough day. My recommendation would be to accept that it happened, log as best as you can, and start fresh with the next bite that you eat. :) One meal/day is a small hiccup in the grand scheme of things.

I've tried alternating some dates/events to try and get some more exercise with my fiance. There's a movie theater we go to that is part of an outside mall, and I have encouraged him to get there earlier so we can walk and shop a little bit (more for the walking than the shopping, the merchandise is higher priced than I…

I'm not sure if it helps metabolism, but I find that when I eat spicy foods I get physically uncomfortable after a while...sweating, hot, unable to taste the difference between flavors, etc. I eat it very sparingly ( like a mild spice in the background, not so much in the forefront), and find that I eat less amounts of…

I actually found with calorie counting that I am more inclined to be lower carb, not because I'm trying to go keto but because foods lower in carb tend to be lower calorie, and I'm a volume eater. I don't see why it wouldn't work to gradually switch to calorie counting, albeit I have never done keto, so I could be off =P…

I aim for 1200, but I don't upset if I fall between 1200-1500 per day. I try not to dip too much into exercise calories because most of the "exercise" is just me walking in place at my desk and I feel the number of calories burned is a bit inflated. I'm losing at an average of 1-2 lbs a week, however it's definitely not…

I just log it and move on to the next day. I figure I'm not going to be perfect 100% of the time, so I aim to be perfect 95% of the time and give myself that 5% flexibility so I don't go insane with trying to stay on top of everything.

I would think sodium affects everyone different. For me, I aim to be below 2300 for the day. Usually when I go above that do I notice water retention. Not necessarily bloat, I honestly don't feel any bigger and my clothes still feel the same, but I see a difference on the scale by 1-3lbs. I drink a lot of water when that…

I have both a fitbit one and a charge HR 2, and I love them :) I do think the heart rate monitor can be off at times, but as I wore it longer it "learned" more about my habits and got better. I wear the One on my ankle just because I do a lot of walking in place and the HR2 doesn't always register the steps. I do only eat…

I like bone broth because it's tasty (I generally just make my own at home using bones from whatever meat I'm cooking and some veggies, simmered low and slow all day), but I wasn't aware of any benefits to help with skin, sadly :( I would probably just keep doing what your doing, keep hydrated, moisturize/exfoliate and…

Thanks so much everyone!! I really appreciate all the ideas!! I love the mini muffin idea, and I don't know anyone who doesn't love truffles! I'll definitely look into those pre-made protein snacks, sounds like they could be really great to have around for near the end of the workday when I'm starting to get hungry and…

5'2, weighing 205.5 lbs to date, started at 219.1 lbs on 1/19/17. 1200 is hard to do. I have that set as my goal, but I allow myself anywhere from 1200-1500 without feeling guilty. Some days are easier than others. I'm okay with slower weight loss because of it. My goal is to make my weight loss permanent, and if I want…

People will be people. I'm about 2.5 months into my weight loss journey, and one thing that really helps is my sit/stand desk. I stand for a good 6-7 hours out of my 8 hour shift, and frequently walk in place. People will walk by and do a walk-in-place shoulder/head wobble, I'm not sure if it's meant to be encouragement or…

It sounds like you're very active, maybe tighten up the calorie counting? Your diary isn't open, and I'll be honest I'm not the best at weighing/measuring =P someone better at it than me could probably look it over and give some tips. Also, since you're looking to lose about 5-8 lbs, your loss would be slower, about 0.5…

<--- profile pic. That's my cat Lyanna. both her and her brother Rhaegar like to lay exactly on top of my scale when I'm getting ready, because they know I have to pick them up to move them so I can weigh myself. I think it's their ploy to get an extra scratch behind the ears when I put them down lol

@EggToni I try not to, but its so hard sometimes LOL! ;) @cross2bear I also will enter the recipe, and then try to modify the ingredients to see if it gets any better haha!! generally not =P I also try to find ways to make it single serving, because I wouldn't mind making something higher calorie, I just can't have a tray…

End of week 2 is much better than end of week 1 :) I lost about 2lbs this past week week, and hit my lowest weight to date of 206.6. I'm trying (and failing) to incorporate more exercise into my day, aside from my steps. By the time I get home I have to cook dinner, clean the kitchen, and miscellaneous chores. I also am…

I keep a stash of frozen veggies (non sauced versions) in the freezer since they can help bulk out a meal without adding a ton of calories. I also keep some pre-cooked chicken breast frozen too, for the same reason. I cook all of my lunches on sunday for the week: A bag of baby carrots or frozen broccoli goes onto a sheet…

my motivation: Last year, my fiance and I bought our first home. Last year I was focused on my financial "health". Cleaning my credit report, balancing my budget, paying off bills, etc. On the day we signed the papers, my fiance took his phone and did a walk-through to post on social media. I thought I looked really good,…

Week 1: I am down 0.7 lbs from this time last week, but still 0.9lbs higher from my lowest weight recorded thus far in my journey. Most likely due to ToM hormones and eating more calories (still at a deficit most days, but a small one). Luckily all that should clear up this week and I'll be back on track. Currently at home…
