Welcome! I have had problems with my knees (undiagnosed since I was 11). The best exercises is indeed power walking and I have also been told swimming would be great too. I havent been to the pool in a long time becaise I am too self conscious to wear a swimsuit in public. My best advice is listen to your body. If an…

I am in North York, close to Scarborough. I have about 140lbs to loose still. I would love an accountability partner

@Doucelait First of all, welcome back to MFP and to the group! I am fairly to MFP but started with roughly.150lbs to loose. I set my calorie intake to loose 1lb a week for try to eat 500 less than what MFP allows me so for now I am around a 2lbs loss/week. That is usually what is doctor-recommended (1 to 2lb/week). Also…

Here is my first week challenge. That week includes a cold and an increase of Metformin (I take it for PCOS) that both left me with little will to eat. At least loosing weight wasnt too hard this week.

I confess that I would love to have the luxury of taking a year (or at least 6mths) off work to focus on weight loss. Instead I am stuck (for now) workig 14h a day, 5d/week, running around on saturdays to do whatever I need done (thats usually the day I walk a lot aka weekly exercise). Sundays is dedicated to cleaning and…

Hi there, I saw that group and knew that I had to join. Ive been down the yo-yo route so many times before I have lost track. Since I hit puberty it has been a downward spiral (or upward depending on how you look at it). In 2004 I passed 100kgs (220lbs). In 2008 I struggled with depression and binge eating and things just…
-
Definitely not an expert here but since you ate a lot of fast food. I wouldnt be surprised if the weight gain was water retention from the extra sodium. Even if it isnt, dont worry, get back on track and you will lose them. For now I would say drink a lot of water.

@JeanieWww Sounds to me like you are doing good. Don't feel disappointed by not working out on saturday. Even though it might not have been a "workout" per se it sounds to me like you have been pretty active anyway. And if you were really sore then your body is telling you it needs a breath. If you overdo it you risk…

@pneschich Congrats on the surgery and I am happy you are recoverig well. Welcome to everyone new! As for Saturday success, I just tried on a couple jeans that I couldnt fit into anymore. One of them fits perfectly now and the other probably in another 15lbs or so. Its almost sweeter than seeing the numbers on the scale go…

I am more of a cat person but I love dogs and if I could I would have both... Unfortunatelly I work 70h/week right now so I have no pets. Poor things would be miserable.
-
Clothes size are pretty much BS. They change between different brand/stores or even within the same store. So yes never go by the numbers
-
@pneschich Good luck with everything! I try to drink around 2L of liquid a day, including coffee and tea. I drink like a camel though. I wont drink for hours on end and drink a whole bottle at once. As for Monday check in, Im doing good, went under 300lbs his morning. I am not sure how I managed to loose over 2lbs this…

I havent tried one of those before so here goes: Saturday Success: I went grocery shopping today and I wasnt even tempted by chips or cheese (okay I am always tempted by cheese- I am french after all- but I didnt go anywhere near it). I left the store with only good things. I found myself craving salads lately so I went…

As someone who went through countless loops of looking 20lbs and gaining back 30, I'd say start slow and focus on one change at a time. Focus on logging everything (including beverages is they have calories) and see what's costing you more. Try and stay within your allotted calories for the day without worrying too much…

HW 318 CW 308 STG 285 (under 130kgs) LTG 150 (normal BMI range but it's too intimidating to think that far ahead) Height 5'5 Age 31 Exercise: not much I'm afraid. I'm very busy during the week but I try to walk during the weekends. My main issue is to keep up motivation after the first few weeks/months. Fun facts : I watch…
-
I tend to do that too. I find that helping my hands busy when I watch tv helps: i do cross stitch (knitting would work great too), play on my phone or do some puzzles. I guess it helps not only keeping your hands busy so you don't pick up the food but also keep your mind busy so you don't think about eating either. If it's…

@badnoodle I really love your idea it's an excellent idea for a bet. I'm glad you're finding motivation again. Keep it up!

Hi there I'm 31 and 308 lbs. I started at 318 a couple of weeks ago and I hope to keep the motivation. Feel free to add me! Helene from Toronto

Hi everyone! I'm new to MFP and have way over 100 lbs to loose (ideally 150ish but I'm trying not to think about that number yet; it's too intimidating). I've been thinking about weight loss for a while but I've always pushed it to "when I'm in a more stable place in my life". But I'm done with waiting and will do my best…
-
Add me too. I have 100+ lbs and would love to keep each other motivated
-
I'm going to try and prep some things during the weekends. Hopefully I won't get tired of eating the same things all week long.
