@Shawshankcan - if only that were possible! It's been a week and I haven't lost anything yet, but I have had some fluctuations throughout the last week. I won't lie - I am disappointed, normally my first week of food tracking is pretty successful but I am in this for the long haul. Does anyone else take photos for seeing…

I am weighing daily and recording it on happy scales - which was recommended on here. It tracks fluctuations so I know if I am heading in the right direction. It helps me stay motivated, but it means different things to different people. As long as you are not becoming obsessed with the scales, then you should be fine. It…

I have the charge and I really like it. A lot of people on here say the exercise calories are incorrect but I tend not to eat them all back anyway. I have never used a heart rate monitor.
-
Never mind - I think I have sorted it. I deleted the Garmin entry and manually added it and now it is back to normal. Still not totally sure what happened but glad it's resolved

As I am just starting off, I weigh myself everyday to help keep me accountable. I don't log it daily but it helps remind me why I am doing this. I log once a week. I might give one of the trend apps mentioned on here a go though, as I do like data!
-
@MzRuthy - how long have you been at this? Remember just to make small achievable changes and it'll come. Motivation will (I hope) become habit! One day at a time

Thanks for the replies guys! It's reassuring that others are going through the same thing. @Koljandertjie66 - I think I might do weigh in Wednesday, as I struggle more over the weekend. I will try and only get on the scales once a week, or I might end up becoming a bit obsessed! @cheerygurl - slow and steady is the name of…

You've certainly inspired me - I have similar stats to you and would love to see similar success! You rock!

50 miles managed - final mile completed tonight despite really not feeling it. Not going to set a goal for March until I go to the physio next week to find out what is up with my hip
-
Made it through my 10k today (need to update my ticker) and added an extra mile so I only have 1 left to do in Feb to meet my goal. Struggling with a sore hip, should be seeing the physio this week to find out the cause. Having this challenge has really helped keep me on track and get out when I was feeling lazy. I have…

I am starting to think I might achieve this! Tailrunning at Parkrun tomorrow, so not counting those miles, 10k on Sunday, only 2 miles to fit in by Tuesday!
-
Haven't managed to update in a while but still trying to keep on running. Got a 10K race on Sunday which I am excited for. @skippygirlsmom - sorry to hear about the injury - wishing you a speedy recovery!
-
@dana___e - why don't you sign up for a sprint tri - or start training towards one? My first is in September and I have only just got a bike...

Try to take things one day at a time - I find that if I think too much in the long term, I start to overthink things. I do struggle, but I just remember what I am trying to achieve to help keep me on track. Change one thing until it becomes a habit, such as drinking more water or eating more fruit/veg, have a takeaway less…

@Orphia - runaroundeurope looks pretty interesting - I am a sucker for a tshirt and some bling! Speaking of which @girlinahat that is perhaps the most awesome medal I have seen! Well worth the 13.1m @dkabambe - I have just got a foam roller, but haven't used it yet. Hopefully it'll help after my long runs Need to update my…

Brilliant story - thank you so much for posting. I am training for my first triathlon and feeling worried about whether I will cope, but you have really inspired me. You must be so proud of what you have achieved! Got any new adventures planned?
-
I echo the comments about C25K- really good program to get you started, you can repeat week if you need to and it offers a sense of routine and achievement. Remember to take it slow though - I used to try and run as fast as I could when I first started and really struggled. Speed will come in time
-
I don't know much about siatic injuries, but if you have medical clearance to start running, I recommend couch to 5k as a great beginners tool. Gradually builds up time spent running in an achievable way

Be a warrior, not a worrier. Not just a workout one, but I do have a tendency to get caught up in the ,what ifs'
-
@Bodytransform - well done!
-
Tough run with the club last night - enjoying my rest today. Bit of a niggle in my ankle, which I am hoping will be fine for Parkrun tomorrow & then long run Sunday (although not as long as you marathon-ers!). Feeling a lot more into a routine with my running, so hopefully I will start to see some improvements. Next Race:…

Another 2 miles done in the drizzle yesterday. Combined with a bike ride for my first double of triathlon training! Feeling good! Running with Tyne Bridge Harriers tonight
-
@mustb60 - well done - great achievement
-
@Azercord Wow! How gorgeous
-
Thanks guys. Logically I know you're right, which is why I ordered it - I knew I had the calories available. I just didn't expect to feel as if I had let myself down once I had finished. I guess I am still learning that no food is off limits, if it fits within your calorie allowance.
-
@runabirun - good luck with the C25K!
-
@louubelle16 - Well done for getting out there and smashing it! Sometimes the best runs are the ones you were dreading
-
5/2 - 6 miles Feb total - 13 miles
-
@Ohhim I love pacers like you - they really keep me going. I had an unscheduled rest day yesterday so am increasing the miles today. Struggling to find my rhythm with running but I hope that by pushing through I will get there
-
2/2 - 4 mile. Feb total = 7. @BEERRUNNER Amazingly cute dog! Mine is too old and naughty to be a running buddy. Glad to hear you have a solution
