I received this diagnosis a couple of years ago before my transformation. I'm looking forward to having another ultrasound done to see if I have eradicated the problem.

Wow! So many great transformations! I encourage people to take before pics all the time. I know I didn't want to, but I'm glad I did.

I've found that as I've adapted to keto, I tend to do a little better with the munchies. My strategy to eat the stuff I can have before I get too far gone. Then I stick to vodka and tonic. Either way, you'll be fine. One day can't undo everything. Keep going!

You just can't out-train a bad diet.

When I'm asked to spend hours trying to help someone help themselves physically, financially, or otherwise, only to see them revert back to their self-destructive ways the next week. I know their intentions are probably good, but we shouldn't waste people's freely given time if we don't intend to follow through.

It's most certainly about forming those good habits and breaking the bad ones. Another great way is to establish a mantra. Write down the reasons why you want this and look at them often.

If ketosis is your goal, it just depends on the person I think. I personally avoid carbs altogether if possible 6 days a week, then cycle a high carb, low fat day in for glycogen restoration to fuel my workouts. My typical carb intake is about 10g per day on those 6 days, which puts me back in ketosis on day 2.

Arkansas, USA I've just started Keto to push myself below the 15% body fat threshhold, but was doing low carb starting back in 2003.

To gain 5 lbs in fat, you'd have to consume 35,000 calories more than you burned each day. That didn't happen. Sounds like your body is retaining fluid somewhere. Are you pooping ok? That can add up as well. I feel like you're ok as far as fat loss, especially if you're keeping your macros correct.

I'm a nurse and have worked in healthcare for almost 20 years. I can tell you from experience that adherence to a ketogenic diet can actually lower your levels of LDL and cholesterol. I worked in a lab and tested my blood weekly to observe this phenomenon. My experience is that many physicians are still stuck with the food…

If you're at 198, 2 pounds of fat loss per week is a safe and achievable goal. If you're in a deficit, I think hunger is inevitable. Sadly, most of us have bodies that "like" the extra fluff. I'm in that category. If you are happy with you're results thus far, I say keep it up. The one thing I might recommend is ensuring…

2 pounds a week is the safest goal in fat loss. As stated above, that requires an average calorie deficit of 1000 calories each day. You will either have to eat an extremely dismal amount of food or workout really hard, like 1.5 hours each day of pretty intense training. If you try to push past 2 pounds a week, you're…

Checking out my weekly progress.

If you're working out that hard, eating at you base metabolic rate (BMR) should give you tremendous results. I'm guessing your BMR is your aforementioned 1350 kCal? Anyways, best of luck. Sounds like you have the exercise part down.
