@herblovinmom Yeah I got some Blue Buffalo chicken-flavoured kitty treats! They're low cal, low carb, crunchy treats. They're great if you want something crunchy or just want like a little savory treat but don't have time to cook or whatever. They're kinda like teeny little crackers except they're made out of…

So we've only been back on the LCHF / keto thing for like, 11 days now I think? Already noticed some differences like I'm sure we lost a bunch of water weight & stuff. Tho we're not weighing, just going by what we see & how clothes fit & stuff. But yesterday someone else noticed too! Got told, we're looking happier &…

our favourite is the rib-steak? I dunno if that's the official name but its like, with the bone on, all marbled and stuff. we get that when its on sale in the summer and do it on the bbq, usually for breakfast
-
we mostly dont eat any fruit. we like cherries so when they're in season we'll get like one bag and thats a treat for a few days in the summer.
-
i'm mostly carnivore now but i still eat a bit of spinach, and a little bit of onion like as a garnish. And maybe once a week i have a bit of cucumber.

LOL - I did a doubletake when I saw that too, took a few moments to figure out how to parse it. Tho my misread was maybe different than yours. (a cat) in Ontario

Hey thanks @baconslave! We had a rough few months (again, lol) but hopefully we got a handle on some of the stuff now. :) December 2 is done for us, still sticking on the plan. :# 1) Stay under the carb goal - Yes! 2) eat enuf calories, but not too much - Yes! 3) log everything - Yes! 4) hit our activity goal…

We hope everyone else's month is off…

One of us loves tea... orange pekoe is our go-to in the mornings and earl grey to relax in the afternoon. If we're like going out for tea we get the "Rev Up" blend at starbucks. Bergemot makes me sick tho so we can't have anything with that in it when i'm around. I tried making catnip tea last night  but i…

We ate too many carbs for like a year and the scale jumped like 75 lbs. :rage:   But like, in one day or one weigh-in or whatever, 4 or 5 lbs I think? We read somewhere there's like a 4 to 1 or a 5 to 1 ratio of water to carbs, like for how the body has to store it? I forget the right terms but like the glucose…
-
Hey @baconslave thanks for setting up the challenge! We got lucky & checked in here in time to join in. Our goals for december aren't that big, but that whole conistency+persistence+time thing is smart stuff. We're not bothering with a scale, just knowing if we can follow that formula things'll work. Goals are: 1)…

Thanks @canadjineh! I think we're gonna get through the day without blowing it. Managed to avoid the temptations & keep myself busy, and got a good lowcarb dinner planned.
-
Hey thanks @tcunbeliever & @brenn24179! Today's gonna be a tough one... Did our workout 1st thing in the morning & got most of our work done, and now it's like, just kinda long boring day with lotsa temptations to eat. We got lots of lowcarb food in the house, but it's like, tempting to eat cos boredom…

Hey folks! So its like, almost 3 months since we've been kinda active around here. Figured its time for an update on the 'crazy' stuff, lol. :grimace: Unfortunately things haven't been that great, lots of struggles and challenges that had nothing to do with diet. The diet-related bit tho is that we ended up doing a lot of…

Wow lol, we didn't realize people ate so many eggs! We don't dislike em, just like other things way more. So our average 'eggs per week' is like, zero. Only time we get eggs is when we meet a friend at a breakfast restaurant.

Ditto what the others said about water retention. Especially when new to doing the workouts. Also keep in mind muscle weighs more than fat, so you may be seeing losses in fat and gains in muscle - especialy as you said, you're stronger, got bettter stamina and clothes are fitting different. FWIW we do all our workouts…

We have our macros set in the diary to display carbs & fibre side by side then just make the calculation in our head. That way it 'works' on the phone and on the website.

We've been wearing an apple watch for over 3 years now I think? We don't use the sos or fall alert stuff, and the ekg doesn't work on our older watch. So can't comment on that. What we do use it for though, is tracking activity and workouts. It's been reallly effective for us, 'closing the rings' each day and meeting…

I was feeling fancy today, so I made up a little steak tartare for dinner. It's a pretty simple recipe actually. No cooking obviously, but some knife work required, to cut the steak up finely.
-
Well we made it just past 4 weeks before someone snapped and our 'strategic cookie-mix reserve' got raided last night. Anyways, we're back on track again today, not going to let last night's slip-up derail us from the big picture. And, we still haven't got near a scale yet, that 'next week' just keeps not getting…

Thanks for sharing, that was an interesting read!

We do a sushi-date with a friend every other month or so. Even so, it's not a complete carb blowout. Usually have only a few carby things, and the rest of it is sashimi etc. So that's our 'carb cheat' thing. Also incase you don't already know this, you may see a weight spike the day after you 'carb out'. It's pretty much…

We tend to keep it under 40g.

Thank you @Shadioutwo & @canadjineh & @baconslave! We still haven't found the courage to try the scale yet, but last two days we've started noticing changes in how clothes fit. And we got some ketostix yesterday, and I just saw a 4mmol/l on there. Pretty sure we aren't dehydrated either as we've had 8 cups of…

Hello @KarlaYP, nice to meet you! We all have different names but collectively we just go with 'Violet'. Thank you for the kind comments! I'm sure we'll continue to have challenges, not all of us are committed to health yet (and some are like I was, not even knowing) but as long as we keep learning from these…
