  • trooworld congrats to you!! Doesn't a big loss feel wonderful? I had a good one this week too. You (WE) can keep this going.
  • Great day at Weigh-in today. Down 3.25 lbs. SW (for this challenge) 174.25 GW 149.75 CW 169 HURRAY!!
  • Hi All Well so far so good on this low carb routine. Down 3.25 today and feeling really good and VERY motivated. Beautiful sunny day here today too. Bit of a sad family touch to it however. This is the 50th anniversary of my Father's death. He was killed by a drunk driver at the age of 51. I was 14 - my siblings were 25,…
  • Well I have a new plan. My personal trainer daughter suggested low carb. So now I am leaving out sugar, flour, high sugar fruits, root veggies, processed foods, etc and so far so good. Still counting calories and its amazing how much good food you can actually eat when you leave out the not so good stuff. Here's hoping…
  • Good Morning Well much happier today. I have started a low carb routine after advice from my personal trainer daughter and it is already making me feel better. I am still counting calories but leaving out sugar, flour, high sugar fruit, root veggies, processed foods etc. It is amazing how much healthy food you can actually…
  • Well my company has all gone home and I've finished cleaning up the kitchen. Feel very good about the dinner I had. I pre-planned my portions to not exceed 1200 calories (total for the day) and I came in just under 1100 so I'm happy with that. Lots and lots of water too - that can't hurt. Didn't get a chance for a…
  • Going really slowly here. Pounds just don't seem to want to move no matter what I do. Even cutting my calories to 1000 and exercising daily doesn't seem to work. Need to be more accurate with the weighing, measuring and tracking I think and take it all ONE DAY AT A TIME instead of thinking about the end result 25 lbs from…
  • Good Morning Frustrated here too. Not sure what is going on but I just can't seem to shed any of these extra pounds. Even dropping to 1000 calories and exercising daily doesn't seem to result in a move of any kind. I guess this is what we call a plateau? I think maybe too I am not being honest enough with the weighing,…
  • Good Morning theslightedge: you asked about my plans for Easter dinner. Yes, I am hosting for our immediate family (12). Menu is baked ham; chicken wings; scalloped potatoes; pecan carrots; bean salad and corn. Probably strawberry tarts and/or dilly bars (for the kids) for dessert. Might only buy just enough dilly bars so…
  • Bit of a challenge last night. Had a glass of wine and then I got into the Girl Guide cookies. Ate 4 but fortunately there were only 4 left or I would have probably eaten more than that. I did count all the calories and even at that was really only over my daily 1200 by 136 so not too terrible I suppose. Have EVERYTHING…
  • Good Morning Well it is finally SUNNY here in the Fraser Valley of Beautiful British Columbia. Only supposed to last for today and back to that nasty rain for another 4 days. Boy, we just can't catch a break this year. We all love our beautiful green valley and we realize it won't happen without the rain but this is…
  • Good Morning Haven't had too much to say here since I signed up but I do read the posts. Not too much happening on my end. Celebrated our 45th anny last week and a granddaughters 5th bday dinner so that made the week a bit challenging. Managed to shed a pound though so I was happy. Will have to be tough this next week…
  • SW 174.25 CW 172.25 GW 149.75 Slow process but getting there. Right direction at least. Was a tough week for dieting this week. Anniversary (our 45th) dinner Saturday and then our granddaughter's bday dinner on Sunday. Lost 1 lb so I'm a happy camper.
  • Weigh in yesterday was better than I thought it might be. Down 3/4 lb. After a mini holiday I'll take it with pleasure. SW 174.25 CW 173.5 GW 149.75 Here's to breaking 170 in the very near future. Cheers, Carol
  • Hi I'm in with a bit of a twist. My birthday is July 5th but I really don't need to lose 30 lbs. 25ish would do it. Would be wonderful to finally be off this weight loss roller coaster. So if you'll have me my stats are: SW (for this challenge): 174.25 GW for July 5th: 149.75 My weigh-in day is Friday. I don't really…
  • @theslightedgeforever thanks for the tip on bookmarking. That is much easier. Yes a Canadian friend certainly counts. We make very good friends (and neighbours). What part of Canada does your friend live in? We live in British Columbia's Fraser Valley - about 60 miles East of Vancouver.
  • Good Morning I'd like to join you. I am a former WW member as well as pretty much every other diet/weight-loss program that is out there. I really like MFP. Much like WW on-line but FREE!! I have been overweight all my life (64 years) with the exception of maybe a few weeks here and there when I did manage to get to my…
  • Hello British Columbia - home for me too. The beautiful Fraser Valley. Where are you?
  • You just gave yourself three very good reasons to MAKE this work for YOU and they are all health related not to mention "happy" related. Maybe post those on your fridge instead of a magazine photo. You might also post photos of the very special people in your life that you want to stick around for. Just…
  • The Looneyspoons cookbooks are really good. They are hard to find but check out used book stores. Janet and Greta Podleski are the authors. I have two of their 3 books and have yet to try a recipe I wasn't thrilled with. I make them for family as well as company all the time. No one would ever guess they are low-fat.
  • Sure, I'm in. I started this last Friday. 64 years old; 5' 2"; 181.5 lbs. Have been overweight (and trying to remedy that) all of my life. I've weighed much less but I've also weighed more. Have never hit 200 but VERY close. Need to do this this time and then STAY there. Thanks for the challenge.
