  • What a great resource, especially for beginners! Thank you for sharing, I'm saving this for later
  • I've had great success with the P90X programs. P90X3 is awesome to start with since it is shorter 30 minute workouts. I use it as a maintenance program now, and have moved on to Insanity to burn the last few stubborn pounds.
  • There should be an "Edit Recipe" link just to the left of the nutrition facts (in line with the big header for # of ingredients).
  • You've got this! With such fantastic weight loss results in the past, it's obvious that you already know what to do. It's just a matter of picking yourself back up and getting on track again. My advice is to take small steps and only start with things that you know you can stick with. If gyms or exercising outside is…
  • Yeah, ultimately you've got to do what works best for you. I'm starting to see some pretty noticeable changes with Insanity. I've lost 2 lb this week and my belly has flattened by quite a bit. I am also keeping my calorie intake around 1900-2000 with a 40/40/20 ratio of proteins, carbs, and fats. Yesterday I ran my fastest…
  • I don't see a problem here ;)
  • When you say "loosing inches", do you main measurements around your waistline, or a combo of waist, neck, hips, arms, etc? Everyone is different in where they loose body fat first. For me, I started noticing big changes in my arms and shoulders first with my waist line slowly following. Overall, do your clothes fit better?…
  • I am playing with the 40/40/20 macro ratio. At first it was tough to keep the fats low, but I found these foods helped as a snack. * Beef/Turkey jerky * Fresh fruit * String cheese (usually has about 5g of fat depending on brand) * Various whole grain cereals w/ skim milk
  • That's my plan. I started on Monday, which puts my last workout of the week on Saturday. I plan on just subbing the Saturday workout for a long jog when the weather is nice. It makes the weekend workout interesting when finding a new trail to run.
  • Today was cardio recovery for me. It may have just been because my calves were cooked the first two days, but this was a fairly challenging routine just because you have to hold some poses for a long time. I'd almost put it in line with Yoga X from the original P90X routine.
  • I forgot to mention that I hate cold-weather running. However, I want to start conditioning for it now.
  • Hey, I just started that program today! I'm hoping it will help me through my latest weight loss plateau. I've been doing P90X/P90X3 for the past year and saw great results (down about 55 lb). However, my weight loss has stalled at 185 and I think it's probably because my body is used to the routines. I'm also wanting to…
  • I think it's pretty normal to occasionally overindulge, especially when stressed. There's a reason why it's called comfort food  Sometimes, for sanity's sake, you just have to say "screw it", and enjoy a treat every once in awhile. A one-week break from the norm won't ruin months of progress. You just have to be…
  • This is quite the challenge. Just remember that the body needs rest in order to rebuild, so don't over work yourself! I would reserve at least one day of rest. Doing stretches or mild yoga on your day(s) off is a good way to continue to challenge your body while not stressing out your muscles too much.
  • Don't beat yourself up too much over a week that didn't go your way, especially if it has anything to do with the scale. Remember that it takes an INSANE amount of calorie intake to truly gain pounds of fat back. If you are seeing a few extra pounds than the previous week, it is likely just water weight. Track it over time…
  • Great work! 25lb is some serious progress in a short period of time. Keep it up!
  • I started because I was feeling depressed for absolutely no reason. I knew it wasn't normal, and that exercise has already been proven to be a better anti-depressant than medication. I got into the habit of exercising for at least 30 minutes daily and eating healthier (most of the time). Sure enough, 1 year later and the…
  • A snowman? Sure...
  • What are you wanting to track? Heart rate? Steps? Calories burned? Are you motivated by data? Just like MyFitnessPal, fitness tracking gadgets are just tools. If you buy a hammer, but don't really have any reason to use it, it might not be worth it. I just bought a Fitbit Charge 2 yesterday. For the longest time, I didn't…
  • When I was getting started, I tracked my food for about 3 weeks. This gave me a pretty good idea where all the unnecessary calories were coming from. After that, I stopped tracking exact calorie counts for awhile. I'm down 50 lb now and am just now getting back into tracking my macros. I know some can do it, but I didn't…
  • I would try not to get discouraged when things like this happen. Even if you are only eating healthy 80-90% of the time, it is still better than giving up and making every day a binge. You will still see progress if you stick with your nutrition goals most of the time. Try not to focus on the numbers too much, especially…
  • TL;DR - Try it, track it, come to your own conclusion. Diets are not a 1-size-fits-all. In the long run, you have to find a diet that works for you which is easy to stick with in the long run. Based on the research I've done so far, it is definitely possible. Those who have seen success seem to be focusing on low GI…
  • Keep up the great work! Just keep in mind that it's not a sprint, it's a marathon. Be patient, make small changes, and the pounds will fly by before you know it.
  • Great results in such a short period of time. Keep up the great work!
  • 1. What was your starting weight and height? 237 lb / 6ft 2. What is your current weight/goal weight? 186 lb / 180 lb 3. How long did it take you to reach your goal? It took me about 1 year. I did several rounds of P90X and P90X3 with different variations of the routines (lean, classic, etc...). Being mindful of what I ate…
