Oh yea, I can see that being an issue, balancing.

My class practices on either a regular school gym floor-hardwood, or that school's cafeteria. I absolutely hate the cafeteria floor. It's concrete with tile. In the shorter summer session it's held in the community center which also has concrete floors. We try really hard not to fall. Could you imagine!?

Day 3, hopefully everyone is making an effort. So far so good on my end. I fell a tad bit short on my water but still got the minimum in. My scale hasn't been good to me even though I've been doing things right more often than not the past few weeks. I have confidence it'll catch up. It has to eventually. It's a bit…

@Helium, Both those forms are for the Orange belt in my school. You are right tho, I just found out last night that Tan Gun is the lower (first) Orange form.

Now to address the dry feet!
-
I noticed. I worried at first it would make my plantar fasciitis worse but actually it seems to have helped it. When I started I wore arch support sleeves on my feet and would end class limping. I no longer have to wear the supports and no longer leave in a limp unless its from overall muscle soreness.

How did you feel after the competition? Were you glad you went through with it after all?

I have a hard time hitting high protein levels too. I am not a fan of fish. And forget about the shakes. The taste and too much work, IMO. I know those are the fastest ways to get lots of protein. I eat lots of chicken and ground turkey, eggs on the weekends. I struggle to go over the 81 grams MFP recommends, let alone go…

Hmm, I guess I should say yesterday I also did a midday workout on the treadmill where I incorporated my PT exercises: alternating between walking backwards on an incline, sidestepping, and then regular forward incline walking. All at varying speeds. This morning I had my PT. I give it my all and definitely consider it a…

I also count calories.

My Monday went well. I'm glad. I burned enough calories to give me a nice deficit. I met my water and protein intake. I'm just a bit frustrated my SW is a pound higher than the lowest weight I hit a couple weeks ago. It feels like I'm starting a bit behind.

Congrats on the competition! Going up against an experienced black belt, wow! I'm so, glad it went well overall.

Class was pretty good. I took BW's advice on the shoulders. I got started with my practicing a little earlier so I could do some independent punching drills while looking at my reflection in the windows. After class I asked my instructor about it. He said he did notice the difference. Thanks again BW! We did a lot of…

So far so good for me. Ahh, but Monday-Thursday I am usually pretty good. The weekends is where I falter the most. But, in anticipation of this challenge I did stay pretty darn good yesterday with my food. I did not exercise besides going up/down with loads and loads of laundry. And I was a bit short on my water intake.…

Lean proteins is my favorites by far. I did stock up. I stocked up on turkey burger patties, chicken breast tenderloins and made a huge batch of turkey chili. I gotta freeze some of that stuff. I shop at Aldi. Soon they will stop selling turkey burger patties for the season. I bought as much as I could fit in my freezer. I…

Just starting back up I've only done the 2 classes a week. I do plan on adding some independent practicing at home at least one weekend day for now. I'm anxious to learn the next belt's form...Tan Gun or To San, not sure which comes first I just remember what it looks like.

I think so, about my shoulders tightening. I'll have to try that. I hadn't thought about my shoulders. Thanks BW!

You were in the mindset once before when you lost that large amount. I know it's really hard to get back into that mindset again. Especially so after faltering. That's what made me get onto MFP back in April. Sometimes I wonder if that mindset is a moving target making it something we're always having to work on. Using…

Last night's class was drills before getting split in half. I like being split off like this. We all get a lot more time to practice our forms and work on basics. Our class is so lopsided, belt-wise, splitting it in two works wonders. Very high belts, very low belts and not much in-between. During some of the punching…

Ditto! If I can't feel the DOMs from a core workout I know it wasn't tough enough or I didn't give it my all. Still, I don't actually see the effects until I get rid of more of this fat/weight.

So glad to be back in class today. 2 more new members so after doing line drills the class was split in two. I got tons of practice on my form and 1-step. My earlier, lunch workout was a core routine.

Jumping jacks. My bladder minds them more than I do.

I would think one would need both in order to be good at Martial Arts or any other type of sport. Obviously, the conditioning would be catered to whatever sport your doing. Yeah, that wouldn't sit well with me either.

-Advance to Orange belt by the end of this session. -Short term weight loss goal of losing another 13 pounds by the end of the year. -Jog/walk a 5k at or below 42 minutes by the end of the year. (a bit slow but my PR is 37 so that's big for me)
-
Both. I don't always get the opportunity to get both, but love it when I do.
-
I put my stats in...(yay!?) Lol This is my first time doing an MFP challenge. I hope it saved the info.
-
I am! What's the challenge?
-
Omg, that sounds so neat!

My daughter's class and mine are back to back, immediately after work. I eat a chicken sandwich in the car during her class while waiting for my class to start. So...I finish eating maybe 10 minutes before I start pre-class practicing.

Great accomplishment BW! I'm sore just thinking about it. No, my running injury isn't very recent. It originally happened in the spring. I never gave it a chance to fully heal nor did I know how to properly strengthen it. It let me know as much in late August. That's when I found out I sprained my MCL and meniscus and have…
