Have to run to work, had quite a trying and unpleasantly eventful trip home but had to ask: Heather An “Octopus Head”? Really? How exotic. Rye, tired and grumpy on four hours sleep but even so happy to be home.

Flight home delayed three hours. Will arrive in DFW at 1:45 A.M. if it doesn’t get cancelled. Husband bonded with my sister’s foster kitten and is considering trying to figure logistics if us adopting her if sister doesn’t like her prospects at the shelter. And HE says I’m the one who shouldn’t meet or visit kittens- lol…

Our plans today had to change. No way to get there. Heading back to Chicago early. Good news is more time with Father.

Turmeric is not a taste I like much outside of Indian dishes but I found one terrific use for it - my most days glass of tomato juice (which the way I drink it is actually a Bloody Mary without the vodka). I add a big dash of turmeric to this and the flavors are very complimentary. Rye
