saybyebob I figured out this is not a group here. We've been just responding to a post. The group is to be created yet. On the other hand, I'm fine today. I've got a question: can you overeat on 1000cal a day? I just had my dinner and I'm stuffed, but I have about 160cals more to eat to get over 1000. You are great if you…

saybuybob. LOL. I'm looking for same button and I'm happy to be your friend cheryldumais. Thanks for suggestions, but no more goals for me. I want to enjoy my life. The weight comes off by itself, I don't even exercise. Firstly, I'm too lazy. Secondly, it never worked for me. I had set to lose 1lb a week and to eat…

I'm 67. About 12 years ago I lost 70lbs, but, of course, I had put everything back and than some. It took me a year to lose and same to gain. I'm doing it again. I do not rush, someday I 'll lose again. I don't want 70lbs now, I want about 40. So, I'll be overweight. Who cares? As long as I'm healthy, I'm OK with being…

I'm 67 and feel like maybe 35. 11 years ago I lost 70 lbs. It took me a year, but it was easy to lose. I have gained everything back and some. The reason? I didn't and I don't know how to maintain. At that time I had tried to join WW, just to learn to maintain. Now I don't want to loose 70 lbs, I want to get to weight I'll…

I'm a binger and there's nothing I can do with it. This said, I keep Mondays (weigh-in day) to indulge and I still have 6 days to get back into routine. It works for me and I'm loosing steadily (17.5 lbs in 11 weeks)

Started @ 217.4 lbs on 4/24/17. Now 203.4 lbs.

Try this dessert: In pitless prune put piece of walnut and top it with a touch of sour cream - it's delish.

Pizza for me is a binge food, so I don't eat it, or even bring it into the house and I don't miss it, thank you.

You can do it!!! I'm here for 2 month and right now I hit a snag, but I CAN DO IT (self affirmation never hurts). You know that best way to start is to record every gram (oz) that you put in your mouth. Do not try to do everything at once, start slowly. Only 15% of your weight loss is from exercising, the rest is from…

That's the way I do it too. USDA is no help because they have multiple entries for same food and no easy explanations on the difference between them

Thanks lemurcat12, that's the answer I was looking for. I also goggled the question (dah!) and on another site I found that about 3% is being absorbed. So, if I cook with 1 tsp of salt, it's about 75mg of Na to add to my recipe. That's it. Case is closed.

Is this group alive?

Thank you everybody, but I feel extremely happy with 1600-1800mg/day. I do not stress if it goes higher - so be it. The question was: how much salt cooked pasta retains. When I cook pasta let say in 1qt of water and add 1tsp of salt, I definitely can taste it as too much. I figure that my body doesn't need this much salt.…

Yes, I'm below 5'. At my prime I was 5'. I'm not trying to stay away from salt per se, but with too much salt (above 1600-1800mg) I retain water and it will slow down the weight loss. I want to avoid this slow down because it's a human mentality- if you don't lose weight as you plan, you lose motivation and I definitely…

I stop eating at 7 PM. and my dinner or evening snack consists of 1 pc of chocolate, sometimes 1 cookie and now I make 100g mango+100g blueberries+2 stevia smoothie. My cal. intake is set at 1230 cal/day. I'm very sedentary, but on some days if I'm not lazy, I walk 2mi. I'm doing MFP for 5 weeks. My weigh-in is on Mondays,…

I'm in NJ. Go thru SI to B'klyn every Sunday

I had tried cooking without salt, but It's so bland, that it turns me off. I'm want to have my 1100-1200 cals as tasteful as possible because I want to lose weight and keep it off for the rest of my life. But you are funny, your chemistry lesson is pretty good.

Hi, there! I have joined your group (if you don't mind) and I'm happy to find this group for 60+. I'm 67. I want and have to lose about my age ( I mean 67 lbs at least, but I'll be happy with 67). Since April 27, 2017, I have lost 10 lbs. My weigh in day is every Monday. Would you like to join me in weekly check ins? How…

Thanks again. This will do.

So, the copy works only by copying the whole meal and not one particular food from one day to another? Right?
-
Oh, well, but at least I know that I'm not the only one who does not like Recent food list. I def. can live with it. I came to MFP from different tracking sight and I like MFP much better.

Please get some help. If you can't share your worries with your family, do it on your own. My daughter, when she was your age, thought of herself as the ugliest person in the world even though she was and is extremely pretty and slim. She lost good 15 years of her life, till she got professional help. It's not your weight…

Thanks for answer. Now I know that there's hope for PC users.

Have to have something sweet, but I'm trying to manage the amount. The rest is easy

Any fish, canned tuna and sardines, turkey, eggs, beef, veal, cheeses, cottage cheese and chicken, of course, are good sources of protein. Eat them in rotation, so you'll have chicken only once a week and it's not bad. BTW, chicken thigh kabobs are wonderful - I basted them in garlic powder, a bit of salt, paprika, black…

LOL. Try to find calories for corn on the cob, fresh, cooked or uncooked, no salt, no butter. It's all over the place and USDA site is murky too
