Eat a lot of fruits and veg, and some meat/meat alternatives? More specific question would get more specific answers.

I've found MFP's numbers to work pretty well. The only way you're going to know is to try it for a month and see what happens. Either you're going to lose weight as expected or you'll have to adjust. All calculators are estimates when it really comes down to it, but MFP seems pretty reliable.

Are you eating back any of your exercise calories?

Flat ginger ale used to do it for me. Ginger ale itself still does.

Maybe it wasn't the sugar but the deprivation.

Also a daily weigher. I can fluctuate between 1-2lbs so I generally don't sweat them, if it goes up higher than that I can usually pinpoint the source.

*shrug* I'd call losing muscle mass (which is not always obvious) an adverse effect. Regular doctors also don't have a good handle on weight loss and nutrition, and don't necessarily give good advice. But good luck I guess.

2lbs just isn't an appropriate rate for such low weight to lose. You just don't have the reserves to allow it. Even 1.5 is a little much. The body can only burn so much fat a day.

I think pretty much everyone on the boards can attest to fluctuations. They happen. I lost 5lbs last month, and the past two weeks haven't had a loss. Now finally seeing the scale move again. Shrug and move on. If the overall trend is downward that's what matters. Weight loss isn't linear, you'll have a good stretch and…

This brings up the other issue that people don't realize/don't care. There's a lot of "it's just a cold/it's just a flu" that many (employers included) don't consider having a cold as 'sick enough'. Take some DayQuil and deal with it. And you also have people who don't look past their own noses, so to speak. The "it's my…

Yeah, seems the only way to not have to pay for it is either through insurance or if it's already offered through the physician's office. OHIP really should cover a lot more than what they do, or there should at least be a program people could go through that was covered by the government like the bariatric program is.

15lbs is going to come off slowly. That 95% may need to be 100%, since you're talking a 250cal daily deficit which can easily be wiped out. Also you may be over-estimating your burn and eating even a little too much of those back could wipe out your deficit, and loss could also be hidden by fluctuations.

What is Smart Water?

This was my progress when I started: Plugged my stats into MFP, got a number of 2070cal/day to lose 1lb/week. Was more or less at that number once I got a food scale and learned to track properly (that was eye-opening, I was still over-eating). Regularly lost approx. 4-5lbs a month as expected. Roughly four months after…

I find it really sucks that people would have to pay to see a RD, to be honest. I was recommended to one when my blood tests indicated I was likely pre-diabetic and my dr referred me to a dietician who also worked out of the office (it's one of those places with a few different doctors' offices, blood lab, pharmacy, etc).…

I'd drop that to 1lb/week, and eat to whatever number MFP gives you for that. 4lbs is quite good for what you have left to lose, that is inevitably going to slow down the closer you get to your goal. You might want to also look at your macros if you're finding you're hungry often, and play around with those. For example…

It's usually recommended when you're exclusively breastfeeding to eat at maintenance and let breastfeeding create the deficit. Your body still needs plenty of nutrition. I don't know how much weight you have to lose but it's also possible that a 2lb/week rate might not be appropriate either.

I think this is what it ultimately comes down to. And there are a lot of good examples in this thread.

If you still lost weight CICO was still happening. CICO is always happening, and IF is just a way to control it. It's just as easy to gain weight doing IF as it is keto or any other WOE because it's not a guarantee of weight loss. It works for some, not so much for others. For me I'd easily gain all the weight I've…

And there is no evidence that doing 800cal on purpose for any length of time without the supervision of a doctor is good or healthy. Such things are also not encouraged on this forum and posts about unhealthy diets have been removed before.

Others disagreeing doesn't make them right. A lot of the comments on these forums is backed up with a lot of history, experience and knowledge.

You don't gain on too few calories. I would get a food scale and start weighing things. Even pre-packaged stuff. It's either going to show where your counting errors are or it's going to eliminate a variable.

Calorie deficit. You can't spot reduce.

Building muscle for us ladies takes a lot of time and effort; eating at maintenance, eating a lot of protein, and following a progressive weight program. I think (and I'm going based on memory here) women can only gain about a pound of muscle a month. Definitely a long-haul venture! Honestly, before doing or worrying any…

The thing is, the boards see a lot of folks come on these boards looking to do keto because they think it's guaranteed weight loss or someone they knew did it/is doing it and lost weight. It works for those who can be satiated by that sort of diet and if it works for you that's fantastic. Lots of people do keto on these…

Just don't forget to weigh your food. Labels can sometimes be off.

To make your diary public: go to settings>diary settings> scroll down and click public If you're gaining you're either gaining water weight due to new exercise or you're eating more than you think. Are you using a food scale?
-
5'6, aiming currently for 150 and see how I feel when I get there. Might go 140 though.
-
The only one I focus on is protein because if I don't pay attention I clock in lower than I want, and I want to start a weight program so I want to make sure I'm getting a good amount. Other than that I don't really worry about it, my fat and carbs are usually at the recommended numbers and I always blow my sugar numbers…

Came here to say the same thing. Diagnosed with both depression and anxiety, currently in treatment (no meds). Been doing better eating and getting out. No noticeable effect on either diagnosis. I lose interest in eating when an episode hits.
