Very cool, thanks.

To beagle or not to beagle... :)

I'm pretty sure that being too serious causes premature aging and constipation.

Thanks! So, here's me the day after a really tough leg workout:

Apparently, damn is not a back word. There we go. Now we're talkin'! Thanks!! Whoa, whoa... I just found a work-around. Type the bad word, post it, then go back and edit post, and the bad word will revert to the bad word in the saved post! Hahaha!!! I love it! Sorry. I'm hijacking the thread. Locolady out.

Sweet! Kinda like "if the shoe fits..." And of course now I have to test it out. Damn.

I'm a bit confused. I'm new to using the forums here. When someone writes a bad word, does the engine just replace it with *kitten*? I've been noticing *kitten* in a few posts here and there, and it's... confusing. Unless it's some new kind of internet term I don't know yet, because I'm basically middle aged and very…

Hmm, okay. Most of my workout time today got eaten up by trying to set up a workout space in my living room. I'll do a power walk after dinner to make up for it. I keep telling myself that it's okay to spend time that way - I'm setting myself up for success, and sometimes getting organized is part of that. But geez... did…

Different things have worked for me at different stages. In the beginning, my stomach was used to huge volumes of food, so a wedge of iceberg lettuce - plain, no dressing - would often help. Nowadays, my body chemistry is different, so a low fat mozzarella stick will help, and then I'm just careful to log it in the food…

Interesting, thanks. The 1 minute sprint during a run then adding 5 seems like it might get in the right ballpark, at least.
-
Me too, exactly! Olive oil is healthy, and it comes in a cooking spray.

As info, there is different pricing depending on whether you go through iTunes or the Beachbody website. iTunes has a 7-day trial period, and then $100/year, the website has 30-day trial period, then $150/year. That surprised me, but I'm an Apple gal (Apple Watch, iPad, Apple TV, etc), so that's a no-brainer for me.

Awesome, thank you!

Gotta set yourself up for success, my friend! Lots of us here can share tips on how to do that.

Others have said it - plan for snacking. It's a great way to keep energy levels even throughout the day. I really need my (healthy) snacks! As another poster suggested, I pre-plan my snacks, log them ahead of time. I use low fat string cheese mostly, raw veggies are also great, and also single-serving cottage cheese. Find…

Hey there! Feel free to add me as a friend. When I lost most of my weight, it really helped to focus on small goals at a time. I took it 10 lbs. at a time. Lost 10 lbs, then another 10, then another 10... eventually, I got there, and I kept feeling better all the time! Set yourself up for success! Like…

I'm in! I could also use new friends here. Everyone please feel free to add me!

Feel free to add me! :) I'm here to lose 20 I re-gained, but in the past I lost 70. I look like a totally different person. :) You can do it! Just take it in small goals at a time. When I lost most of my weight, I was taking it 10 lbs at a time. I would reward myself after each 10 lbs - usually a small trinket, like a new…

I'd love to do it! Started June at 135. I would love to finish June at 130! That would be perfect!! GW: 115

Hey, please feel free to add me, too. Encouraging each other to get healthy, let's do it!
-
Sounds great! I'm all about getting and staying healthy. Feel free to add me.

Woot! Nice!!! High-five! That's a big milestone. Way to go. :)

This may not be helpful, but here goes. Years back, I was in a bad marriage. He was not at all supportive of my health goals. In retrospect, he was actually jealous of my improvements, and felt competitive with me, and it actually depressed him to see me becoming vibrant and healthy. The healthier I got, the more depressed…

I second what someone else said here - in general runners are a pretty supportive bunch. It can vary by region, though. I lived in the Scottish Highlands for a time (in a small village of about 300 people), and when I went for runs there, people gave me strange looks and asked why on earth I was doing that. In the U.S.,…

Well, this isn't a meant to be a recipe, but a lifestyle tip - just something that works for me. If you'd like a specific recipe, I'd be happy to share one. My morning smoothie is usually about 50% protein and 50% carbs, but that varies depending on whether I feel I need more protein, more fruit, etc. Sometimes I only use…

I'm loving this discussion! I'm in perimenopause right now, and am definitely thinking a lot about the future, and wondering how hard it will be to maintain a healthy weight. Sounds like with good habits it's very doable. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks guys. I did have them follow up, and I re-emphasized the edema. The advice came back to just discontinue the meds, and then let them know if the edema continues. As to the frozen shoulder - yeah. It really sucks. It's my second one in about 10 years, (the other one this time), so I know the drill. Luckily, I…

Others have already said that's too aggressive a goal, so I'll skip that part. I'm shooting for 15 lbs in 3 months. Same time frame, so I'm in!
