I did feel sad at the beginning. I missed food. I felt like I couldn't enjoy all the fast food I ate before but honestly, if I even overeat a little now I feel like crap for days. I used to feel like that every single day, like I was going to explode. That feeling sucks now.

lol fell right into that one

So did you actually read the original study? About the virtual patients? "There was, however, no significant difference in recommendation rates for diagnostic tests. Comparison by condition of recommendation categories for knee pain resulted in no significant differences; students in the obese and non-obese patient…

I'm talking about inhaled corticosteroids. A person who has breathing problems BECAUSE they're overweight WOULD NOT benefit from an inhaler. It would actually increase the risk for conditions such as oral candida, osteoporosis and cataracts. No inhaler would be beneficial, unless they have asthma. Just in case you missed…

Agreed. I'm waiting for the big 100lbs down to post on facebook.

"Did I make assumptions about Aaron because he's a man and men tend to dismiss women's arguments as hysterical?" Whoa lol

"The major criticism of the epidemiological studies has been the basis of diagnosis of asthma. Obesity impairs ventilatory functions i.e. forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV 1), forced vital capacity (FVC), total lung capacity and expiratory reserve volume.5 Besides, it may reduce respiratory muscle strength,…

I'm 5'3" currently 157 and my goal is 125-130. Started at 230. Feel free to add me! Always looking for more friends :)

Obesity can cause a variety of health issues. I don't think we can blame a doctor who would chalk up "shortness of breath" to being overweight. Even as an asthmatic the only thing the doctors can do for me is prescribe me a puffer that will probably reduce inflammation in my airways. I don't know about the diagnostic…

Why would a doctor waste their time with someone who really doesn't want their professional opinion? There is one simple thing you have to do to not be obese anymore- eat less. Humiliation should be felt.
-
It really depends how they bring it up. A lot of people will state "you've lost weight", like what do I say to that? lol "yes I have?" but the few people who say "you look great!" then I can say thank you. Each one asks how I lost weight and I just direct them to MFP. Nobody has listened so far lol
-
awesome! Must have been retaining some crazy water lol Happy for you!
-
I agree with this. The only reason I lost the weight was because I completely cut out chips, cookies, etc. and then re-introduced them slowly. These foods were where I was getting all my extra calories so it was vital to get rid of them at the beginning. I would eat a whole bag of chips a day which is something like 1600…

This was never answered. And the whole paragraph just explains why they think weight loss for health is wholly unnecessary. They say "weight loss for health is wholly unnecessary" and then go to explain why that is true. So taking that first sentence isn't taking the paragraph out of context.

If the medical condition really truly made that person fat then if that person stopped eating completely they would remain fat.
-
The thing is even if I do gain the weight back I'll know why. Consuming more calories than I burn. I'll never be able to be in denial about that. I'm never going to just accept being fat and then say that I'm healthy and that weight-loss would have no health benefit whatsoever.
-
Why do you expect me to gain all the weight back? Why is this about me at all?
-
LOL When I said "these people" I didn't mean people with ED's. That's it. You can't tell me I meant something I didn't.
-
so tell us then...why are you here losing weight? - Because I was obese and unhealthy. what made you want to lose weight? - Being obese and unhealthy. how many times have you tried and failed - Never. or tried only to gain it back? - Never? how much money have you spent on - No money. pills or special diets or shakes etc?…
-
Oh wow. Okay I meant "these people" as in people who believe in this crap LOL
-
Actually I didn't LOL not even a little bit.
-
Sure. People spending thousands of dollars on "diets and wraps, teas, etc." are victims. Victims of their own stupidity.
-
Who said "these people"?
-
"Please know that I never blame or judge those who participate in diet and weight loss culture. They are victims of a society that profits from their insecurities." This is the original quote you were arguing with.
-
That's not where the quote came from.
-
Somebody just made that rule up tho.
-
Actually the article doesn't even mention eating disorders and is just about "body positivity".
-
RIGHT?! lol I don't know about you but I am not a "victim" of "diet and weight loss culture".
