I’m aiming for 1560, but usually end up eating more than this and just try to stay below maintenance. There are many days I have trouble sticking to that and end up eating over maintenance. The days I’m closer to 1560 are the days I feel most obsessive and often end up over eating later in the day. I think I’ve been in…

I’m in! I’m aiming for one on a week too because I want to b flexible and not drive myself crazy.

All I can say is it’s hard. Don’t be in a rush after having your baby. It wasn’t until about a year post partum that I felt like myself again and able to focus on weight loss in a healthy head space. Be gentle to yourself and congratulations!

I am experimenting with just not eating after dinner, and facing the discomfort. I also have some hot decaf tea and that helps too.

The trap is not just that when you feel ‘virtuous’ and treat yourself with something you don’t need, but when you do eat that entire plate of cookies or whatever, you will feel like a moral failure and bad person too if those cookies are ‘bad.’ That just feeds in the whole guilt and shame cycle.

I’m also trying really hard to be body positive while trying to lose weight because shame and guilt and self hate ultimately get you nowhere. It’s hard to try to accept yourself and also try to change at the same time. I made a list of all the reasons I want to loose weight that aren’t related to my looks. Then I made a…

I found that some of the ideas from this blog post (link at the bottom) really helped me. The idea of ‘facing your fear’ of being hungry, and knowing that wonderful food will still be there when it’s time to eat again. Also hot tea/ hot water is really nice in the evenings when I want something but have already eaten…

I used to go once or twice a day but now that I’m dieting it’s every other day, give or take. At first I thought something was wrong but then I realized well, if there’s less going in there will be less coming out!

Same here! I’m trying to get away from black and white thinking about weight and food, and trying not to attach my worth to what I eat (‘I’ve been good today, bad today’ etc) and one point in my life I dealt with some disordered eating and I don’t want to go there again. I have a fair bit to loose, but I’m hoping that slow…

Not a good suggestion but keep in mind that the average healthy woman only needs about 44 grams of protein (unless you’re body building, pregnant etc, I’m too lazy to post the links but it’s not hard to find on dr. Google) so don’t stress that you’re malnourished if you don’t hit the goals that MyFitnessPal recommends. I…

This may not work if you like to be precise but I often skip entering a lot of the ingredients in my recipe and focus on tracking the caloric ingredients. Like if I’m making homemade tomato sauce with meat I’ll enter the just meat and olive oil. Onions, canned tomato, garlic, salt and herbs I don’t worry about. Yes that…
