Personally, i do a kick start. Ill eat raw fruits and veggies, chicken, tuna, and nuts for a week. I always felt during these time that my body was getting complacent and needed a shock or cleanse to get going again. It works for me. Good luck.

I agree with all above but remember to keep the mental part of it fun too. The on again off agian comes when your plan becomes a chore or obligation. It's no longer fun or you begin to plateau and you begin to wonder why and then quit. Secondly: keep it simple. The more research you do, the more opinion based information…
