Only one? Focus on all the days you went with ZERO in August. Don't beat yourself up over one glass. There's only a few days left of August and you can still finish the month strong with 30/31 days alcohol free.

Me too! I want to carry this info September as well. I'm 4 pounds lighter since deciding not to drink wine since July 24. 4 pounds may not seem like a lot but the scale had been stuck since May!

Welcome!

I am on day 28 with no alcohol and I have to say that I am finding that I have more time and energy to clean my house, go for walks, and focus on my diet/exercise. I have finally busted my plateau too. I don't think I could have done that if I was still drinking wine and eating like a pig on weekends. I won't say that I am…

That's awesome!!!

Day 18 of August! Stay strong this weekend people. We are in the final stretch!

It was actually a documentary for Britain I believe, but it gave a lot of information you probably already know. How much a unit is, how alcohol effects the liver and body, etc. Here's the description from Netflix. Emergency room doctor Javid Abdelmoneim endeavors to learn the truth about alcohol, both its benefits and…

For those who are interested, there is a documentary on Netflix called The Truth About Alcohol. I just turned it on.

You can add me. I am going to be 40 in October. I started out at 211 and am down to 176. You can do this!
-
We are halfway through the month! Keep up the good work and keep making good choices everyone!

I was definitely tempted tonight, but I am on day 23, so no turning back now. Tomorrow will be another tough day. But I keep reminding myself why I am doing this. 1) to be healthy 2) to lose weight 3 financial reasons 4) drinking numbs the pain, but doesn't fix anything and so many other reasons.

I found this article really helpful today. http://jamesclear.com/how-to-break-a-bad-habit It can apply to drinking or many other things. This article as also encouraging. http://metro.co.uk/2016/12/30/how-long-does-it-take-to-change-a-habit-6351291/

There are counts in MFP and lots of articles online about which drinks won't sabotage your diet. Just keep in mind that bartenders often pour extra and what you are thinking is one drink may be two or three.

Thanks! It's on my Amazon Wish List!

For those of you reading the Naked Mind...how is it? Is it worth buying or checking out?
-
You are doing great!!

I was tempted last night but stayed strong. Going through a tough time right now but wine won't solve anything so I'm steering clear.
-
That was me too! I have made it through 2 weekends now without wine. It gets easier!
-
We are 1/3 of the way through the month as of today. How is everyone doing?
-
You didn't FAIL. Just a bump in the road! You got this!

I use Isagenix now, but I have also used Chike Nutrition and i liked it. You can buy it online. Multiple flavors and decent pricing. I think the protein shakes by GNC are decent if memory serves me! I also like Shakelogy and ItWorks Protein powders, and I have tried those in the past. I haven't had much luck with the ones…

I am going out for lunch today with a friend where I would normally have wine. However, she knows I am not drinking this month so that will make it easier. I will be over my calories today, but no wine so that's a win. People seem to be okay with it. I have one friend get a little weird about finding out I wasn't drinking…

Way to stay strong! I know that feeling too well.
-
I usually do. I wear a heart rate monitor for cardio and also use a Fitbit. I love to eat, and working out is a great incentive for me because I get to eat more.
-
Absolutely!
-
Feel free to add me as well. Isagenix user since February 2017. Lost 25 pounds. (New MFP account)

Don't give up! Keep taking it one day at a time. Awareness and willingness to make a change and/or make good choices is HUGE. Being awake is half the battle! Everyone is welcome here regardless of where they are at in their journey each day and this entire month. We all have our individual battles we are fighting. We each…
