@jugar You made me laugh out loud with that photo & caption! Fortunately I was not quite that bad! We had a beautiful autumn day here and managed to get in a last round of golf for the year. Our course closes Monday so that will be it until 2021. Also did a session on the stationary bike. And food was good today as well in…

Today I made a giant pot of borscht with some of my beet harvest. I made rye bread yesterday so together that made for a pretty good supper. And my eating the rest of the day was on track too. I had a tough workout at the gym this morning. Three variations of squats and two variations of hip thrusts along with a killer…

Today was a good day both for eating and exercise. I'm not sure why but I have got my head in a better space right now - viewing this all as a challenge instead of a frustration. So let's hope that continues... Sounds like there are lots of challenges out there with health and work and other things. Best wishes to everyone…

Oops! I'm a little late to the game introducing myself this month. I'm CG, live in rural NE Alberta with my husband and geriatric cat. I'm 61 (for another 6 days), 5'4" 173#. I was skinny right through until we started a family and then I seemed to focus more on keeping everyone around me healthy and let myself fall apart.…

I love this idea! We are a part of a German Cultural organization that hosts a big (350+ people) Oktoberfest which for obvious reasons is not happening this year. But we could try a little one here maybe. Now you have my thinking cap grinding...

So I found out something interesting today. I have been frustrated the past few weeks with my weigh-ins going up a bit or holding static. But today I had another body scan at the gym which shed a little light on what has been happening. It's been 3 weeks since I did one and in that time I gained 3 pounds of skeletal muscle…

@krcapone78 Welcome aboard! I think the Covid-19 situation has caused a lot of us to make some changes. You've come to the right place. @micki48 Good news on your daughter's test results. @spyro88 A baby journey...very exciting! Fingers crossed for you both. @Terytha Hoping your day ends better than it started. Hugs…

I met up with a friend for a long walk and catching up this afternoon. A bit chilly but we still enjoyed it. Also found a recipe for pumpkin chai latte that uses up some of my pumpkin puree. It was delicious and helped with the chill. :)

@KellyBgetsfit @Kali225 @Terytha Well done, ladies!

So right you are!
-
@SMcFall0215 Yikes! So glad you and the others were not injured! A reminder that life can change in an instant! @Terytha How great that must feel!! @jugar Thanks for sharing your beautiful corner of the planet.

@micki48 So sorry to hear the world is causing you stress. I find these days I have to compartmentalize everything into what is in my sphere of influence, and what is outside. So I focus only on the things where my actions can make a difference and consciously let go of the things I can't do anything about. Not sure if…

PW 172.8 CW 173.4 :( LTD 26.8 All things considered it could have been much worse. My husband is out of town for 10 days working and I have found myself grazing instead of taking time to prepare proper meals. Makes it way too easy to overeat! But the last 2 days have been better so maybe I am back in the groove looking to…

This was so timely! I have been feeling this way too for the last couple weeks. Thanks for your suggestions - I am going to be using some of them for sure. And I'm hoping that watching the final days of 2020 count down will give me some impetus to get back on the right track again. I am really not looking forward to…

I am thinking I will do a reverse resolution. Instead of setting a goal to start on Jan 1st, I'm going to use the next 99 days to get a goal finished by Jan 1st. If I can average about 1 pound per week I will be 160 pounds for 2021. And I, for one, will be glad to see this crazy year over!!

@micki48 My sister had been living in California for 36 years, went down to go to school and married an American. They decided about 2 years ago that they had had enough and made the move back to Canada. It was actually pretty easy for them but she had retained her Canadian citizenship so it was actually only my…

PW172.4 CW 172.8 :( LTD 27.4 I am so stuck in the low 170's. I just keep telling myself these plateaus are NORMAL but it is still very frustrating!!

I had a happy little NSV moment this morning. When I went to get dressed for church, I grabbed a pair of dress pants from the back of the closet where they have been since last winter but they were miles too big. So I headed to my "someday I'll fit in this again closet" and found a pair of pants I haven't worn for several…

Wow, we Waistaways have a lot going on right now! @SMcFall0215 You and your family have a lot of stressful situations going on right now. Time to focus on taking care of each other with lots of hugs and look forward to the day down the road when you can use this as a great story. You know, the "Do you remember when we…

@jugar You ask the best questions! As for when I plan, I was thinking about this the other day. It sounds funny but a few months back when we were all staying home I found it easy to sit down every morning and plan out all the food & meals for the day and stick to it. Now as things are starting to ease up I find there are…

@theweeonemfp Good luck on your gym journey. I know it has been key to me keeping going. Do you have a gym buddy or trainer there? As a suggestion, I found that solo I could more easily make excuses to not go. My thoughts on cravings are in the next section... @spyro88 I'm a bad one to talk about succumbing to cravings.…

I had a frustrating day at the gym today. It felt like my trainer was having to modify everything because my silly joints were not behaving. I have lost some mobility in my shoulders, maybe arthritis related? And I have an old knee injury that limits my range of motion. So a couple of the new things we tried simply were…

@jugar Good question! Up until August I think the answer would have been logging and being accountable to all of you. And then last month I was not very diligent with either. And it scared me to think that I might be undoing all that I have achieved so far. So this month I am trying to be better at both. It did certainly…

I hope everyone had a good Labour Day. I managed to get all my onions pulled and stripped all the cherry tomatoes off the vines. Also harvested all my herbs. The Roma and beefsteak tomatoes are still out but I've covered them because it is already only 2C (35F) and the forecast is for it to go quite a bit lower overnight.…

We had a surprise visit from some good friends who live 7 hours away. They pulled their trailer into the yard Thursday evening and spent the night. Spent the evening under the stars around the fire pit sharing great memories & catching up. Al fresco breakfast Friday morning and a round of golf before they headed on their…
