@matthewsfive You are an example of why this group functions so well. When people share honestly we can all see bits of ourselves in each other and like you said, know we are not alone. There is strength in realizing we are in this together.

This showed up in my inbox this morning from the Mayo Clinic. It was very timely for me so I thought it might be of interest to some of you as well. Nothing we haven't hear before but a good reminder. (I have made a couple of small edits to format it better for here.) Weight-loss plateau: Now what? Haven't seen any…

Today I got my eating back on track. :) And we got that round of golf in finally. But it was our best scorecard this year so it was worth waiting for it! :)

@jugar You have reminded me of a snack we made for our sons when they were little that we called "ants on a log" -- raisins stuck into peanut butter in a celery stick. But your son's tastes were obviously more adventurous! @conleywoods We have found the mini Babybel cheese travels well without refrigeration.

Yesterday was a better food day. But we didn't get to golf. They had to close the course because it was still too wet from all the rain on Sunday. It is sunny here today so maybe we'll get out later...

Yesterday I ended up starving again in the evening and caving in and eating. This is getting to be a pattern and I don't like it! I have typically not eaten after supper and been okay but this turns me into a grumpy bear. On a positive note I did a legs workout this morning that had me really working. And if the rain stays…

Good week, everybody!

@KellyBgetsfit I love your positive attitude :)

Wow, yesterday was a bust! Eating out of control. I just kept snacking so by supper there were no calories left! And no exercise either! So yesterday was yesterday but today is today. I can't change yesterday but I can control today. Make it a good one everybody!

Yesterday was good for exercise - a back workout at the gym - but I ended up a bit over on my food. Got to the end of the day and was so hungry I knew if I didn't eat something I would never get to sleep...

Today was physically exhausting. We got in a round of golf this morning early and then in the afternoon we tackled cleaning weeds out of a fenced compound that is attached to a lease space we own. It is vacant right now so it was really overgrown. My husband and I spent nearly 3 hours working together with various string…

Sounds like there is lots of celebrating going on! So happy anniversaries and birthdays and anything else worth toasting! Looks like I missed updating yesterday. So Tuesday: Food = yes, Exercise = no. Wednesday: Food = yes, Exercise = yes. And I think I get bonus marks today for having to change a flat tire on my way to…

Yesterday I kept on track with my food but didn't get any exercise logged. Today I have already been to the gym so off to a better start!

I am set to lose 1.5#/wk and light activity. I decided to take a bit of a conservative approach and not try to lose too quickly or to be too aggressive in estimating my exercise. So far it seems to be about right for me although lately I have been getting really hungry in the evenings so I am wondering about making some…

The phrase that has been most life changing to me as an adult: "Do not let perfect be the enemy of good." I have always been a bit of a perfectionist and if I couldn't do it perfectly I would rather not do it than be imperfect. Actually reading that makes me laugh! My family and friends would argue with "a bit of a…

Yesterday was good for exercise - a legs workout at the gym - and REALLY bad for snacking. But I logged it all and have resolved that today I will be back on track. So far, so good. Today is turning into a "get caught up with laundry and housework" kind of day, not my fave but long overdue. And I'm looking forward to…

We got out this afternoon and played a round of golf - the best score so far this year. It was a great day weather-wise but tomorrow looks like a mixed bag with rain starting overnight. I've been waiting for a clear night so I can get up at dawn and see the new comet that is visible but it won't be tonight...

YES!!!! Look at the denim! There is so much more room in the picture around your legs! Which means there is a lot less of you! Also I see big differences in your arms and face, especially your cheeks! WAY TO GO!!! It is funny. Sometimes our brains see things like this about ourselves the way they were conditioned to see…

Yesterday's gym session worked on shoulders and upper arms. I'm still working with quite a bit of tension and tightness but it feels good today so maybe I'm gaining. Today is bright and sunny in contrast to the heavy rain Tuesday evening/Wednesday so hoping things will dry up enough I can get into the garden.

@Cerizez The TED talk you posted was very interesting. I am always amazed at how many new things they are discovering about the way our bodies work.

Thanks for your wise words @jugar. I am going to start eating back my exercise calories for a bit and see what that does. We played another round of golf early this morning so that meant I can have rhubarb strawberry crisp at supper. :)

I had a good day yesterday for exercise. First thing in the morning I had a session at the gym working on my back. I'm not back to lifting pre-COVID-19 weights but it is getting there. And then in the afternoon we played a round of golf. Ordinarily I don't eat back my exercise calories but by supper I was ravenous so this…

You don't have to apologize! I think that's what we are all here for. A great group of people to share all the ups, and the downs, of life. Best wishes for a rainbow day today!

Today for my exercise I made a deal with myself. There was a movie I wanted to watch on the PVR so I decided I would relax and watch it but instead of fast forwarding through the commercial breaks I would do 25 sit-ups for each break. Eight commercial breaks later and I had done 200 sit-ups.

Thank you. Sounds like you have things all figured out. That's a big help :)

So sorry. Furry family members fill such important places in our hearts and leave large holes when we have to say goodbye. Virtual hugs coming your way.

A big thank you to @jugar and @micki48 for all your efforts tallying our weigh-ins and steps. Waistaways wouldn't be the same without you!
