All good ideas! You're all so helpful. Now I just need to make it happen. Thanks.

Hang in there. If you are feeling stronger and healthier that is as important as the number on the scale. Maybe your body just needs to adjust and catch up to all the other changes going on...

Thanks! Interesting that you should mention that. Our satellite TV previewed a fitness channel for the first two weeks of May and I PVR'ed a daily Pilates show. I've only done one of them but I liked how it felt. I'm going to try some of the others and then figure out how to get it into the day regularly.

I hear you. I'm looking forward to getting back to lifting again. It really seemed when my muscles were working hard my joints all felt better. And I'd add a hot soaky bath to your list of therapies! Hugs (but gentle ones) to you!

On days that I work outside getting exercise is no problem. But I need to figure out the days I'm not working out in the yard. I was using the rowing machine but my knee was not happy. All of you and your steps are amazing but that is not something I can do until it sorts out. So something to ponder for tomorrow.

I started out in the yard pruning potentilla in the morning at 15C (~60F for our American neighbours) and then about noon a cold front blew in and it was 5C (40F) by 3pm. So I decided that was enough of that! But the forecast is still good for the weekend so I am planning on getting the rest of my garden in. One of my…

My breakfasts are quite variable -- often muffins with cheese, or oatmeal with yogurt, or homemade fruit smoothies. This morning I headed outside but it was cold and windy. I got chilled and came in body achy with a headache so sat down to watch the news after lunch and fell sound asleep. Hence didn't accomplish much the…

Oops! I got all the way to the end of the day and realized I missed out on one of my mini-habits from first thing in the morning. So much for thinking I had developed a new routine... On to tomorrow!

Busy day in the yard. So a good kind of tired tonight.

I had a very lazy day. Didn't exercise and ate more than I should have (although I did log it all) But since hubby was providing the food I didn't want to seem ungracious - Mother's Day and all. So back on track tomorrow.

I managed to salvage my groggy day and got a few things accomplished but sadly nothing left at day end for exercise. So I'm going to hit the hot tub and head for an early bedtime. Tomorrow is a new day... Happy Mother's Day to all of you who are mothers or who have/had mothers!

I was in the middle of posting last night when our power went off so I went to bed. Then when it came back on five hours later I woke up startled hearing voices in the house. Of course it was the TV which was on when the lights went out but I did the adrenaline thing until I figured that out and by then I was so worked up…

@Terytha Way to go! What a difference. Sometimes we get so focused on where we are that we forget where we were...

This was really helpful to me as well. I saw other people using it and was wondering how. Thanks!

Long day outside today attacking my raspberry canes and moving some strawberries. Also declared war on a dogwood that was taking over my delphiniums. My Mother's Day gift was a new leaf blower and the thing has enough power on high to just about knock me off my feet. So I certainly burned a few calories keeping it in line!…

@eggfreak I love your visual of "garden yoga". But you actually made a good point. I tend to go full steam ahead once I get working outside and it really would be much smarter to take breaks regularly. Today I took a break from the yard and spent the time getting back on track in the house. But I managed to get in some…

I am tired and sore tonight. Spent another 4 hours planting the garden. Probably 2 more days to go but I need it to stay warmer overnight to put in my beans and corn and tomatoes. Anyway I am feeling muscles that don't get used for much else than bending and planting! I always find this to be such a hopeful time of year -…

So I got the Habit Tracker up and working, also checked out the Mini Habit Challenge - still deciding what I will do there. Today was a bust for exercise. The weather was grey and showery this morning so I attacked something cleaning/de-cluttering that was long overdue. And now at the other end of the day I am too bushed…

Good evening! Checking in for Day 1. Tomorrow I intend to get the spreadsheet working and to check out the tiny habits challenge but for now, @Terytha 's challenge: One thing I did well in April - Putting good meals on the table with the ingredients I had on hand. We've only had a couple of small grocery runs in the last 7…

Happy May Day! And Happy Weigh Day! My starting weight for May: 186.6 # I have 4 goals for this month: #1 Log everything and stay within +/- 5o calories of my daily allotment #2 Check in here with all of you lovely people every day #3 Some type of exercise every day -- now that spring is finally here I am predicting a lot…

Thanks @jugar for your kind welcome. I hope my health journey at this point in my life is as successful as yours as been! We're about an hour and a half north of Wainwright. But in this part of the world that's practically around the corner.

Greetings all! Coming to you from rural northeast Alberta just 2 short miles from the Saskatchewan border. I am 61 years old and live in the country with my husband and 2 cats. I spent a lot of years looking after family, work and everybody else and didn't spend the time I needed to look after me and my own health so…
