Why don't you try 1200 calories and some gentle to moderate exercise and plenty of water this week, and see what that gets you?
-
My friend, please hear this with the kindness that I intend it: you really can't eat <=500 calories a day to achieve long term healthy weight loss. If your goal is long term healthy weight loss, you need to come up with a sensible calorie target. When you put your info into MyFitnessPal, what did it suggest to you?

I would make a distinction between people attracted to fat bodies, and people with a strong urge to obtain sexual pleasure by fattening someone else up. The first strikes me as totally normal - people like different body types, there's a wide range of preferences, whatever floats your boat. The latter I find controlling…

I think the biggest thing is to get rid of the idea that there's going to be an end to this process. Even if you manage to not get bored and stop before reaching your goal weight, you can't get bored and stop once you're there, either. Make tracking and logging and exercising their own reward. Make each day that you follow…

Fifty five pounds before the first comment. Eighty five before the second. I chalk this up to having well-mannered friends too discreet to be going around commenting on people's bodies. At least, that seems like the most positive interpretation :)

It's a close call, but I'm going to go with "disfigured" as the most appalling. They won't let you adopt if you're disfigured. WTF???

You look fabulous! Go you! My starting weight was 367.8 - not the same, but close enough that I can relate to some of the same challenges. I love your pictures and am so happy you posted to share them! May I send you a friend request? Well done, update with new pictures when you reach your goal weight! <3

I find it vaguely embarrassing to acknowledge that I sometimes buy frozen meals online and have them delivered, but here goes: I love the meals from BistroMD. They have a whole weight loss subscription plan but I ignore that and just buy a la carte when my freezer is getting low, from balance.bistromd.com.

I think it's behind a paywall.

Hi! I'm quite a bit along the path of losing 220 pounds. I started here at 367.8. This morning I was 174.8. I still need to lose 15-30 pounds, figure out how to build muscle, ramp up to a gym routine, and master lifetime maintenance - so I'm nowhere near done yet! I welcome friend invites (I'm a trifle shy about sending…

Yes, I'm a fan of a heavy pour :) I log it (in milliliters, not as "2 glasses") and it fits in my calorie goal, so, it works!

1- Where are you from? Be as specific or vague as you'd like. Originally New England, now in California for quite some time, and probably forever, because I can't stand moving :) 2- What is one challenge that worries you this week? Exercise in bad weather. I get spoiled by the California year-round outdoors climate, and…

Mama doesn't get enough food to share at my house!

Except for very special occasions, I've cut alcohol down to 2 glasses of wine per week, on Sunday nights, when my best friend and I split a bottle of prosecco with dinner :) Alcohol just has too many calories to fit comfortably into my days otherwise - I'd rather eat those calories than drink them! I've lost 190+ pounds so…

Started at 367.8, currently 175ish. Still plugging along day by day!
-
Can I slip in, at 47? I'm still going to be managing my weight, health, and exercise in my 50s (and 60s, and 70s...)
-
Wait, whoa, what? I could so eat more than my entire day's calories eating nothing but this list - and I'd still have all my "points" left?

You definitely want a GI specialist appointment. Shame on them for not setting one up for you! When my daughter was recovering from pancreatitis they put her on a low-fat diet and prescribed replacement pancreatic enzyme capsules (Creon) to offload some of the work her pancreas had to do. They also checked her blood work…

I started at 367.8. I'm currently at 177.4. I still have some undetermined large amount to lose, plus oh my God do I need to build muscle! I know that I don't need to lose 100 pounds this year, but I see this as all one big "lose 200+ pounds and keep it off for life" journey, so I'm for sure going to be working on it all…

I gained 14.6(!!!!!!!!?!!) pounds in 10 days, the majority of which days I ate at my normal deficit. I've lost like 7.2 in the last 2 days. I hate the scale sometimes. Here's hoping for another multipound overnight loss of water weight tonight! *grump*

Trader Joe's blueberry fiber cakes, sold next to delicious muffins and scones that I refuse to see, with a large mug of black coffee  80 calories, 12 grams of fiber, very filling!

Friend, what you describe is not a problem with your body. It's a problem with perception, negative self-talk, probably wounded self-image. You're working on making your body healthier and more functional and more beautiful - and this often stirs up the emotional and/or mental baggage that isn't fixed by losing weight and…

Cystic fibrosis runs in my family. It's a clear case where there is a single gene to fix, which encodes a single protein, which has been heavily, heavily researched. Fixing broken CFTR genes would be a win for individuals, families, and humanity. I still wouldn't mess with a baby using CRISPR/Cas9. We're not very good at…

Hey there. I've lost 190, I have 20-30 left to go. I'm on every day. Feel free to send me a friend invite (that goes for anyone!)

Why did this get woo'ed? :(
-
Yes. Carbs are my drug of choice.
-
Approximately 18 months, -187.4lbs. Still working on it, it's slowing down as I get lighter.
-
Not me. Plus, every day it gives me a different guess anyway!

The thing I try to be mindful of is eating slowly enough that I can tell when I'm getting full. Eating 1200-1400 calories a day, I am never full. Eating a lavish meal and drinking wine and there's a cheese plate before and dessert after, I need to keep an eye on pacing myself, or I can get full too soon in the meal, or…

This is totally my *kitten*, too. I'm different at this weight than I would have been had I not gotten so heavy and then lost so much. And I expected that regarding being saggier and looser than my preference. What I didn't realize was that, unlike when I was last this weight, my body was going to keep ALL the extra fat in…
