  • Please keep us posted! I'm down 175+ by taking it a day at a time, just like you <3 We're rooting for you!
  • Starting weight: 367.8 Current weight: 192.2 Next goal: 190, which will take me out of "obese" and into "overweight" Original end goal: 180 Stretch goal #1: 165 Stretch goal #2: 157 (into normal BMI) Final: who knows????
  • Congratulations on getting into the 100s!
  • I'm rather shocked that in three years they never thought to suggest enzymes! Creon's got all the enzymes you need to digest fat, so it can take the load off your pancreas some. Plus it can help with all the downstream consequences of undigested fat. I hear you re: medical issues causing depression and anxiety. Have you…
  • I'm sorry, that's a bummer. Are you taking supplemental enzymes to support fat digestion (like Creon?) My daughter had to eat very low fat and take supplemental enzymes for a year after a bout of acute pancreatitis put her in the hospital. I'm sorry it's gone chronic on you, the pain is a bear :(
  • Don't! That's fabulous success, you should feel tremendous about it!
  • Ohhhh yeah. I get a lot of - oh go ahead, you can have more than that - come on, it's delicious! - don't you want some? really? - are you sure that's enough? - you've got to be about at your goal weight by now, time to lighten up with the dieting! I blithely go ahead anyway.
  • Oh, I completely agree that laundry is essential. I just already thought that and acted upon it when I was super obese. I join your endorsement of clean sheets, white whites, and fresh workout clothes  I just didn't assume that anyone didn't do laundry well because they were fat. Live and learn! Thanks for…
  • Oh, OK. I didn't relate laundry practices to weight loss. I've lost 170+ pounds without changing my laundry routines.
  • I kept losing right up til my wedding, and yes, my dress didn't fit right because I somehow got skinnier still after my last alterations. So if you want a perfect fit, taking a well-monitored break is a good idea in my opinion. Congratulations!
  • Time to recomp. Start maintenance, and make a plan for how to build muscle and eat in such a way as to support that without going bonkers. Then lift heavy things and get strong
  • "Feeling fat" often is how one's brain translates feeling bad, feeling stupid, feeling ashamed, feeling ugly, feeling insecure, feeling needy, feeling unworthy. Tons of women who are definitely, measurably, objectively not fat feel fat sometimes. Know you're not alone, know this is commonplace, know that you need more…
  • For the residual hunger that many people just have to live with while losing weight, I try to catch the thought "God, I'm hungry!" and follow it up with "Good, that means this is working! I'm so psyched to see my progress so far!" My body is smart enough to respond to weight loss by saying, you know, you're undereating,…
  • If she's emotionally struggling, don't get on her about her weight, that's the last thing she needs. Be a caring, listening friend, and perhaps see if you can gently offer healthy self-care options that would make her feel better. Ask her to join you for a walk. Go somewhere together and be in nature. Discover restorative…
  • I have had plateaus longer than 2 weeks even though I have much more to lose than you do. Check your work (logging accuracy, etc), stay focused, and give it time.
  • Sometimes we seek a feel-good hit because we're strenuously avoiding something we don't want to feel, or think about. It might be worth reflecting on whether there are things you are trying to avoid thinking about, or feelings you're afraid to have.
  • You can do this. I've lost 160+ without surgery. Surgery, with regard to losing the weigh, is a hack to make it easier. Just find a different hack, or hacks, to make it easier. Detailed accurate comprehensive logging of all your intake is a very powerful tool, and MyFitnessPal makes it about a zillion times easier than in…
  • Are you me???? My kid was diagnosed with something horrible when she was 5 weeks old. I got to 367.8 before deciding to up the priority of me. Down 158.8, unlear how much more to go. I completely understand where you're coming from!
  • I'm down 158 pounds with somewhere from 30-50 more to go. Send me a friend invite? I'm a 40-something mom, let me commend you for getting your health up to speed now - it gets way harder if you get decrepit in your 40s, believe me :)
  • OK, my daughter is a 10 year old ballerina with a healthy, not overweight BMI and a ridiculously active schedule and her waist is 24 inches. I'm flabbergasted that Marilyn Monroe had a 22 inch waist and it makes me squint trying to figure out where she ever bought clothes.
  • A MFP friend just posted about how motivation and mood are impacted by scale fluctuations and plateaus. Not asking for help, not saying her plan wasn't working, just posting about her feelings. One of her friends posted something about how she should do X, Y, and Z because she looked at her diary and could "see at a…
  • They're stupid expensive, but my PT recommended Hoka OneOne sneakers for plantar fasciitis and they help a LOT. For sandals and ankle boots, Vionic has done very well by me. BUT, I strongly encourage you to get some advice about the best inserts for your particular body - from a podiatrist, or a physical therapist, or…
  • Congratulations, 42 pounds is a fabulous achievement! I'm not doing keto, just old-fashioned low carb, but if you look in the "groups" section and search on keto there are tons of folks doing keto to connect with. Go you! Stick with it!
  • I would love some friends, too  I'm about 150lbs into losing 200ish pounds. Just started participating in the community aspects of MFP, and would love to connect with others, especially folks on a long journey, like mine, and folks with bad knees
  • Here, I'll give you my completely twisted reason for getting back on the scale and facing the higher number right away: I want full credit for losing those pounds again. I want to see the high water mark at it's highest, grit my teeth and see that it hasn't destroyed me, and then (since for me a lot of vacation weight gain…
  • The reason that some people are successful with a completely defined / prepackaged plan, but not so much with general good eating guidelines, is often emotional. When I started working on weight loss, I was completely distraught and just needed a complete break from making food choices. Not a forever break, but right then,…
  • I just sent you a friend request. I'm down 154.4 as of today, with.... I dunno how much more to go, depends on how I feel when I get down to 180. Love to connect on the journey (any anyone else on a similar path, feel free to add me!)
  • Caffeine. Oddly, salt helps me in this situation - a salty cup of broth, for example. For when my hindbrain cries out too insistently for baked goods, Trader Joe's makes a muffin (well, sort of muffin), called a "blueberry mini fiber cake", which is essentially a muffin that's almost all fiber. I eat one with a big cup of…
  • I don't have the same medical condition, but I did start this weight loss journey with depression, chronic fatigue, and joint pain. I decided that I had no choice but to drag myself to every possible doctor's appointment, to insist on referrals, and to try every treatment I could. I ended up with antidepressants, with…
