  • I get some people have social hangups. Both IRL and online. For some, the online realm is their social interaction. Especially as the world gets further involved with the electronic realm.
  • I find both easy to deal with. Not saying I'm a badass by any means, just that most times I really don't care about social issues or if I'm accepted or not into a social group. I'm me, don't need to be a part of a group to determine who I am. As to physical confrontation, the key is avoidance. If you can't avoid, as long…
  • So says the lady holding a massive banana...
  • Nothing wrong with a good discussion by any means. Just felt like it was getting into an ongoing debate/argument without end. One of the downsides to the internet, at least in the written format is that you lose many key aspects of conversation: voice inflection, body language, etc. Many times, the verbal discussions last…
  • How I teach? No. I just think that there's far bigger things in life to worry about than what kind of power a moderator has, why I can't do the same things police, military, or someone else can if it pertains to their job. Why should I? Does it impact my daily life? Nope, not in the least. Especially if they are working…
  • Someone took the cookies out of my lunch a few years ago. So, I baked up a batch double chocolate, chocolate chip cookies bagged them and put them in the fridge. Needless to say, a couple of hours later, I found out who the food thief was when they were cussing up a storm from their burning mouth. Needless to say, a double…
  • Not really. Of course, I also understand that there are some things with doesn't apply to everyone and therefore just accept that it's outside of my scope and no sense worrying or putting more thought into. Personally, I think way too many feel like they should be a part of everything and when they aren't there's some dark…
  • Roles and responsibilities. I don't have the capability, and it's not an issue for me. Much more important things to worry about, than how a person voted on a response. Would probably cause far more drama than already happens here if general users had the capability.
  • The way I read it, it sounded like you were going off on a conspiracy theory... Some things just happen for a reason. Part of the job of being a moderator, or admin of a board.
  • Sometimes, extra privs like seeing who does what is a matter of the software itself and not a setting that is granted via the Admins. Some things just aren't worrying about, or thinking it's a conspiracy theory.
  • I think they can see who does the emotions tag. But, I don't think that really sways their perspective of how a certain person is. At least, that's how it was for me when I used to be a moderator at other forums. For me, I always got into trouble because I would evenly enforce the rules and the forum owners/admins wanted…
  • Why would being a moderator give someone a different perspective? Especially when similar comments were made by others who aren't moderators?
  • This. Very similar situations. My mother was in a wheelchair as well when I was growing up, and it was terrible. I'm one who will hold a door open for someone even if they're a ways off. Just common courtesy
  • Perhaps it's someone thinking the "woo" is a good thing? I dunno. The only issues I really have is what I mentioned early on in the thread.
  • One of the joys of being on the internet and learning new people, or is it someone who's returned and just wearing a new mask. Seems to be a whole crew of people who do it... There is a bit of a close-knit group here. Which is common in many long-running forums. But, what gets me a bit is the unequal application of rule…
  • Thanks. Was something heavily on my mind while I was winding down to it. I might've talked about it too much.
  • Ahh, I posted on my wall, and made a mention in the singles hangout. Posted a picture in the "Transformations Photo" thread too. Thanks for asking. :) Here's my wall post: For the weight loss challenge weigh-in today. It pretty much came down to myself and one other guy. For total bodyweight lost, he dropped 18.8% and I…
  • Wow, I completely missed this pic! There's a difference, and it looks like you're so much happier. :)
  • How hypocritical people can be. Particularly, when it comes to what they claim to be and how they act online.
  • I couldn't do that when it comes to clothes, and I need my laptop/phone. Otherwise, I'm a very light traveler, in that I bring pretty much the essentials. Then, I make a stop and pick up things I need like shampoo, soap, etc. But, usually, I'm flying with just a backpack. Three days worth of clothes, anything more and I…
  • Thank you all. :)
  • Solo - Was my second time seeing it.
  • I'm so glad I miss more than a few of the drama scenes around here...
  • Thanks. :) Trust me, I know I've come a long way already and the weight loss challenge was a great start to it. Had already lined up working with a trainer before the challenge. But, the challenge fell perfectly where I needed it and can definitely feel the difference. Next up, Tough Mudder ten-miler in two weeks. Last…
  • Just finished out a three month long weight loss challenge with a few guys I work with. Made some good gains. Yet, still a ways to go before I hit my next goal. Not sure where I'll end up on the scale, as it'll mostly depend on how I feel. But, I'm pretty confident I could drop another 30lbs and still be very healthy.…
  • Jurassic Whatever. Very bleh.
  • But, what if they're bolt-ons?
  • Thanks i am too! Off to the gym for second to last round of cardio. I'll get up early, do cardio tomorrow morning, then head back for the weigh-in. I think we're all ready for it to be done. Even though I'm picking it back up on Monday.
