Pretty! :)

I've tried 5:2 but I would get hangry on the fasting days, although it worked to lose weight just fine. Now I do 20:4 with a 2pm - 6pm / 3pm - 7 pm eating window in the week, although I don't worry about the exact times. It's more like 16:8 on the weekends when my husband is home. I eat two meals a day. I find it really…

I bought an original on sale recently and have had no connection issues - perhaps there's been a firmware update?
-
For me, it has several advantages. I do 20/4 weekdays and a more relaxed schedule nearer 16/8 at weekends to fit in with my partner. Note that it is in addition to calorie counting, not a replacement for calorie counting. I also eat low carb as well as I simply feel better doing that. 1. I'm a tiny human, and my caloric…

*fistbump* I'm trying to think about what I'm doing in terms of cyclical eating. My TDEE per the spreadsheet that's floating around on r/loseit varies between 1900 and 2200 (I do an hour of exercise a day, I'm just low on the bell curve because PCOS as far as I can tell, sigh) so I think of TDEE as around 2000 for ease…

Yes, this. My husband has a good friend who is similarly tiny and super energetic, it's what I picked up on immediately. I on the other hand am Statue Woman and need a Fitbit to nag me! So it goes :)

I've not read any of his books, but I like his style from the articles on his site. Food for thought, thanks! :)
-
That sounds fantastic! :)
-
How is the book, peeps who have bought it? Debating making it my next milestone reward :)

popping in to say thank you for the Convict conditioning recommend, looks like an amazing read! :)

Parmesan is fantastic for flavour to gram ratio. I'm also obsessed with spices and herbs and eat a lot of curry, chili, herby stews and the like. 0% greek yogurt, not because I'm scared of the fat but because I'm a tiny human and every calorie counts and I need the protein. Tinned tuna, ditto. Lemon juice. Traditional…

Relevant to this topic I think - it's a good watch http://www.channel4.com/programmes/the-truth-about-slim-people - also available on YouTube for non UK folk IIRC.

That is an interesting study! I'm currently doing the "which keeps me fuller longer" dance between fat and protein in my macros, in part because my two meals a day on 20/4 IF were making me uncomfortably full. Shoehorning all the protein in gets tricky. I wish I liked greek yogurt more! Carbs, particularly refined carbs,…

Cool! I feel a loot reward coming on :dizzy:

Sainsbury's do some OK rioja, but I agree there's not much choice. One thing that might work for you (it doesn't give me enough of a barrier to consumption sadly, even though they seal very tight) is Vinolok glass stoppers and smaller bottles (I think we bought our 200 ml bottles and stoppers from this place:…

Wine is my blooming kryptonite. I'm dealing by buying those teeny tiny individual serve bottles!

Yay Mario!

I made goose liver parfait yesterday. It's absolutely delicious, and has even managed to make the stack of rice cakes I have lurking in the cupboard edible. Thank you MFP recipe tracker for enabling me to track it :D I may even have to eat some more to make a sensible deficit today. The hardship! :D
-
Yay Mario! He looks like quite a character :)

If you like pumpkernickel type bread, the Mestermacher organic sunflower bread can be found at Sainsbury's and freezes brilliantly in individual slices. It's quite calorie dense but the slices are also pretty big, so I cut them in half for 71 cals. I love pumpkernickel so for me it's a real treat.

I hear you. Carbs hate me, and I'm much happier without them - pretty much all my carbs come from veggies and glasses of wine :)

I have to say I credit my D3 supplements with being at least part of what's enabled my to restart on a weight loss journey after 10 years throwing my toys out of my pram. They've been a game changer for me.

why does it have to be plugging the next diet TM though? Why can't it be CICO is a useful thing, here's some tips and tricks to make adhering to CICO easier? I don't understand the hate on he's not teaching the diet, to me that's a good thing?

It sounds promising! :)

I aim to maintenance on Fridays and Saturdays while aiming for deficit all other days in deficit mode. (my other half works away in the week and we arise early on Mondays to get him to the train, so Sunday is also deficit / no booze night). Mostly I'm at maintenance those two days due to booze consumption over and above…

I will say the boy is a poster child for loose skin snaps back - I met him just post big weight loss and he was significantly looser than he was there :)
-
Probably because it was "stop drinking 15 pints of beer a night you wally" with a side order of basic low carb. :dizzy: I dunno, I don't mind there's a program which is basically about "look, CICO is what the NHS recommends, so here's some ideas about how to put extra taste into low cal food so you don't feel deprived" -…

I think you're being a bit unfair to Tom there (probably coloured by I've met him and I think his heart's in the right place) - if you go to the website what he's cooking for them is weighed out precisely, they don't make a big deal of it in the actual show because viewers know the recipes are given by the BBC after,…

Big hugs and fingers crossed @Nony_Mouse !

I'm having one hell of a whoosh - down 6 pounds since Wednesday! *eyes the scale dubiously* Will be getting back to normal exercise routine post cold tomorrow so hopefully that will stabilise things / push it back up. I suspect I'm still dehydrated from tummy bug.
