Knitting keeps your hands and mind occupied. Making something small is a good idea at first because it takes longer to knit something than crochet. If you get bored with knitting, try crochet. I do both and will help if you have questions. Also, you should check out ravelry.com. it's free, and there are free patterns for…

My husband is like this too. If its things that don't belong in the house, he has the choice between putting it in his shop or the trash. If its things he just didn't put away, they go on his chair. If its a hoarder thing, shop or trash. I'm still working on him lol.

I did the same thing in April. Now i keep a garbage bag in my laundry basket. When I fold something I don't like, or doesn't fit, it goes in the bag. When the bag is full, time to donate. Helps me stay on top of it. :)

We have AC, and I put ice in my dog's water. He's 13, very old for a big dog. It really does help.

Welcome, I'm glad you found us. Check the first page of the month for tips, links, etc. You'll have lots of support here with no judgement from us.

Today is a fresh start! And remember, you had 1 full day AF! If you've been drinking every day, (like I do) every AF day is a win! I'm proud of you. I haven't had any AF days this month, but I'm sticking to my daily limit for the most part. Keep up the good work, you'll get where you want to be.

I'll greet people too. Everyone should feel welcome, and the thread is all of us. :) I don't mean to diminish Julie's hard work at all! You've gone above and beyond! I just meant we could all chip in.

I also have embroidery floss, but not much. I use it for Barbie furniture, so I'm holding onto it. Its one little bag that fits in a corner of a top drawer.

I've been using up 30 years of "scrap" yarn making beds/rugs for a local animal shelter. Yesterday it was time to start putting my good yarn in order, and away...now that there's room. I found scrap yarn in the bags of good stuff and in my laundry basket! I really thought I had it all, my daughter laughed and said and your…

Happy birthday Julie, have fun tonight!

That's wonderful! I'm itching to get to my kitchen too.

Yay Norminv! I'm happy for you!

Then you are letting things go. I follow. Thanks

I found out that Habitat for Humanity will take kitchen items, well household items, but my kitchen is on my list.

Congratulations, its beautiful!

I don't think there's ever been an issue with those of us that aren't abstaining. I've been here since January and found nothing but support. My goal has been to limit my daily beers to 6. Yes I drink that much, and yes its a cutback. A year ago I was drinking 9-10 beers. Everyone here has been supportive and…

Donated 10 dog beds/rugs today! I've been decluttering my yarn stash, making beds/rugs. I put all my scrap (won't use) yarn on the spare bed. I can see 1/3 of the bed now. The girl at the shelter was thrilled. Working on the next 10. :)

Thank you for this! An eye opening explanation of reality

:D that cracked me up!

Congratulations! Way to reward your "tomorrow you"! If you haven't already, telling that woman about this thread is a great idea. :)

You're right, the fight continues. I look forward to realizing its become a journey instead of a war. We can all get there, we have each other.

You'll be supportive when you can be. In the meantime you have my support. 8 days is amazing. I'm glad you're back, I missed your humor. :) And just so you know, my progress doesn't exist. I'm backsliding, for about a week now. Life happens, death happened, I didn't deal as well as I would like. You are not alone.

I'm in too!

I'm down 23 lbs and have definitely noticed a tolerance reduction. I thought I was imagining it.

Never apologize for helping, its appreciated.

Welcome! Happy you're joining us :)

That is wonderful!

Thanks and love to all of you! I still have to figure out what's going on, but your support has helped me deal with this.

Sending warm thoughts and good vibes, just know someone is thinking of you both.
